US racing i've heard can be quite corrupt so my initial thought is something dodgy relating to in running betting.

I thought that . Drop the horse out of the race where the in running price goes up then bring the horse into it again . Paisley Park is a good horse to back in running .

I think Rogue lightening has a great chance in the 4.25 at Longchamp. Hard to properly rate up but he’s 3/3 over 5 furlong and unexposed, plus is only 3 so is still improving. Has progressive RPRs and is the one who can spring an upset. 14/1 looks a nice ew bet. The favourite is clear on official ratings but isn’t getting any younger .

ran well and placed . One to watch next year on the flats

It's why I stay away from the Irish racing, can be so random

The lower class Irish racing yes, but I tend to find the higher grade handicaps pretty consistent unless a trainer is getting his horse to be ridden cold for a specific future race in mind for example Cheltenham where he gets in on a low handicap mark.

I'm going to bang on about non-runners, I have the following in a high stakes e/w trixie - 80p

Fairyhouse 1420 Mikita@126.0
Fairyhouse 1620 Mont Saint Vincent@41.0
Fairyhouse 1720 Insouciant Dallier@41.0

The 1620 has had the favourite Hand Over Fist withdrawn, which conveniently has led to a Rule 4, 10p deduction. I'm not sure what time this happened or even if it happened sometime after Mikita placed - my system has bunged out some cack, but has been quite good over the past few weeks spotting long shots.

I'm uber-suspicious, is there something out there that looks at non-runners and shows the time that they are declared a non-runner? If there isn't, I'm sure I could knock something up, not that it would be useful in predictions but would be useful to see if there are really any patterns for horses being withdrawn (scientific-method and all that).

betfair sportsbook stopping best odds guaranteed from the 10th. between this and bet365 closing me down i think i'm done with online betting

what does everyone use for their bets? i'm considering just going into shops. you lose the best odds guaranteed but means i can just do everything in cash and no risk of being shut down (i might up my stakes too!)

I was done with online betting years ago, more specifically I had no choice! (There are ways round that though 😉)

I was saying pretty much saying this the other day there about how bookies etc. have too much say these days.

It's now reaching a stage where going into various betting shops where even some of these are now getting all lemon too.

I've had a situation where I was doing well one day a few years back, one of those one in a million days where you're collecting winner after winner.

After being around £2k up one afternoon, I suddenly started getting questioned by staff. "Your not from round here and don't usually bet in here", "have I got I.D on me", this kind of shit. When I refused to comply as to why they needed to know any of this, they tried to make out it was for my own safety and making sure i'm not spending too much - (after they've been happy to take my bets and money all afternoon prior to this).

But yes, I refused and they asked me to leave the shop! 😂

Gamble aware safety my arse, after happily nearly taking £400 off me throughout the afternoon in bets, and not until I start winning significant bets they changed their tune.

What's even funnier, the local menace is further down the shop on one of those heroin terminals, no doubt loading it with hundreds of pounds, and not an eyelid batted by the staff.

Bookmakers nowadays - they exist now just to take your money but hide behind the 'gamble aware' bollocks as a front. Even think of winning over a sustained period and you'll be closed down or exited from a shop.

If it wasn't for these heroin roulette terminals, I think alot of the bookmarking shops would be closed down, as that is where they make the most income compared to the rest of the whole sports betting side of the industry.

Also, I know some/most betting shops do offer best odds guaranteed on races as long as the bets are put on before 11am/12noon.

I just bet online. I wouldn't be able to make it out to the bookies most days any how. I've got single accounts with all the top bookies, as all this is purely a hobby any money I win mostly stays in the bookies accounts and when the account(s) have a healthy balance, I draw off a couple hundred quid and push that into my wheelchair fund. I also do all the bookies daily spin free spins to top up balances, it shouldn't be surprising but you often get a decent amount.

an as if by magic, I just won 39 quid at WilliamHill on a free spins-thing, that should keep me going for a while.

that's interesting that you can get 'restricted' from shops too...never heard this before!

popped into my local betfred last night and looks like they have terminals to place bets on so never having to speak to someone. not sure if they pay out winnings too...

If you’re deemed a bad customer(winner) then they can and will ban you from the betting shop.

staggered by this. honestly thought you were safe just going to shops. you'd think that would be media-worthy? OK when you get emails etc from bookies restricting you they never say "you've won too much money" but in a shop you would have you be physically told by a staff member so that's something you could go to the papers over

Not at all . If you’re a winning punter it’s advised you use several different betting shops, even putting on cold bets to take the attention off yourself . By the way I’m not talking from experience 🙂

local betfred has betting terminals. i'm test driving them this week. i think you can get paid out on them too but guess any large win will just get a slip to take to the counter.

if i get banned from a shop, i'm honestly just going to pack it in...really not worth the hassle!
