Our U21s and U16s are having their our end of season showcase games at Villa Park this evening

U16s have beat Arsenal 6-2 according to the AVWFC Supporters' Association twitter account

U21s are playing Wales later, I'm presuming that must one of their age group teams

Most people who have worked with Lee Billiard before have no desire to work with him again. Be amazed if Carla ever returned to us while he’s still here.

What's the deal with him? I don't know anything about him.

I'd love to see us sign Dominique Janssen or Lineth Beerensteyn, they're both free agents now but I'd expect them to go to CL clubs. Van de Sanden has left Liverpool as well, I think she'd be a good option.

Well, this is from a Dutch perspective anyway 😅

Looks like U21 and sometimes first team squad players Ella Pettit, Megan Shaw, and Martha MacPhail are leaving the club. Hopefully we start producing a few deemed good enough for the first team in the coming seasons, we've had a load iin the England U15s,16s, 17s, and 19s, in the last year or so, so hopefully that's a good sign

Villa fans retweeting Wolfsburg announcement that Tommy Stroot is leaving them, , but whether we would be that ambitious I don't know, have seen former Arsenal manager Joe Monemurro also menioned, our Assistant Manager Leanne Hall was his assistant at Arsenal, left Juventus a few months back, again would come down to ambition

Tanya Oxtoby is the one I like the sound of for reasons already given

All these names are pure guesswork though, there's not even been any speculation in the media, hope we hear something sooner rather than later, a lot of work to do this summer

Olivia McLoughlin wins the Scottish Cup with Rangers today, presumably her last game with them presuming she doesn't go back, from what I've seen and by most accounts she's been very good for them, if club want some good PR for the women's side then the coming weeks would be a good time to announce a new contract for her

I've said it before but If we want Blindkilde replacement then could do worse than look at Kirsty Maclean, if we don't sign her I think it's only a matter of time before another WSL club does, she might even end up somwhere like Chelsea or Arsenal for them to then loan out, they've got a few decent young players, Mia McAulay is another, only seventeen but has looked very good in the little I saw, and twelve league goals this season

We've let a number of our U21s go, most of them have been on our first team bench, so I wouldn't be surprised if the plan is to bring in a few singings similar to the Sophia Poor signing last summer,  youngsters not expected to come straight into the team, but can do a job in the squad, and with potential to become important players for us

We had five players in the England U15 squad of twenty that just played Holland twice, they won first game 2-1 and lost the second 2-0

Hopefully we start seeing a few announcements on the first team in the coming days, should be getting news on who is being released and who is getting a new contract soon, and of course the manager situation, I don't think the transfer window opens for another three weeks, and then free transfers can't move between WSL clubs until July 1st, although sometimes clubs announce signings in advance

Watched Scotland beat Israel 4-1, Hanson got a goal and assist, also hit the post and could have got a few more assists

Lehmann scored for Switzerland in their 2-1 win against Hungary

Dali assisted France's equalizer against England, France currently winning 2-1

It says that Olivia McLoughlin is going to join Rangers on a permanent basis when her current deal expires at the end of the month.

Presumably wants to forge her career as a starter at Rangers: I can't imagine that we didn't at least try to get her to extend, but the loan out was a bit bizarre to begin with. Wish her the best in her career.

She turned down our offer of a contract, so at least we tried to keep her, but to lose her is a shame because she has promise, although not really surprised to be honest, as looking at her social media and some of her interviews in recent weeks, she seemed to be going into overdrive with her praise for Rangers and how much she was enjoying herself, and she starts every game, I guess it was choice of that or be a squad player for us, and even then if the new manager is anything like Ward in how they rate her then she wouldn't even be a second choice option for her postion, so can understand her decision

After losing her and Blindkilde we really could do with signing some young midfielders in the summer, hope we've got some good deals lined up. As it stand as far as we know, Dali is the only midfielder contracted to the club for next season, so I presume we will be looking to keep at least two from Taylor, Staniforth, and Nobbs, if not all of them, otherwise we're going to need to sign three or four midfielders, also bearing in mind that Megan Shaw and Martha MacPhail have also left

All this news does is make followers of the women's team worry more, it's been relentless bad news for a while now, need something positive to happen now, a decent manager appointed would be a start

Nils Nielsen, Man City's director of football, has left them as he wants to get back into management (alongside some of city's coaching staff). Never managed at club level but has a strong track record internationally IIRC. Could be an interesting option.

Not sure what's going on there, seems other than Gareth Taylor all their coaching staff, and their Director of Football are leaving, looking on their forum they seem to have a 'ITK' poster, that says Nielsen was telling some of their fans after the last game of the season that he was working on some 'exciting signings', so going by that looks like he and perhaps the others weren't expecting to leave, whether that means they've been sacked i don't know, could be City cutting fundng, they haven't made an official announcement yet

Will be interesting to see if they all end up at the same club, with regards to the WSL Brighton, and Leiceste also without a manager, but as with us, there's not been much news on them either

Keep seeming to say this, but we really should hear something soon, with internationals over, and the transfer window opening in a couple of week

Just listened to Counter Pressed podcast with Carla Ward, didn't really say much that hasn't already been said, repeated that the club tried hard to convince her to stay, and had been doing so for months, they offered to provide her with a house, and a nanny for her daughter, she only wants a few months out of the game, but won't be back this summer, she's going to spend time at different clubs around the world, including in the US, Spain, and Norway in the meantime, and might be ready to come back around Christmas

Perhaps most interestingly, she said she doesn't want to move her daughter, so there's only four clubs in the WSL she would consider, and one of the hosts said 'so the two in the midlands, and two in the north', and she replied 'yes', so going by that sounds like she would be prepared to comeback to us as manager...

Given how hard they seemingly tried to convince her to stay in the first place, and stil might offer her some sort of reduced role, makes me wonder if the new manager could in fact end up being a stop-gap until Ward ready to come back, at which point maybe the 'stop-gap' manager would end up being her assistant, or even joint manager

Our U21 girls going to British Columbia for Pre-season

That we're doing something like this for them, hopefully another good sign, that the club are still invested in the women's teams
