So presumably those of us on here with kids looked at the league tables and read the Ofsted reports before sending our kids to a school we thought gave them the best chance of a good education, and as a school can go from being Outstanding to Good on a poor attendance against the national average then you will understand why the schools are against unauthorised absences. The point I was trying to show was that children are in school for around 180 days of the year, You cannot guarantee that your child would have perfect attendance for the rest of the school year should you take them out of school for a holiday which these days is going to be a fortnight. So you have got your child into the best school you can so they will have a fighting chance of a reasonable education but then you want to jeopardize that by taking them to Magaluf for a fortnight - slightly ironic.

Or take of him of to Barbados for a week and then he is off for a week sick and that is over 5% of his academic year missed.

Or during peak times holiday firms charge the full price for holidays and reduce prices to stimulate demand when there is less. Not sure many holiday firms are actually making huge profits.

The trouble is in my opinion the writers have had to pad out this series far too much to fit in with the mid season break cliff hanger and then the end of season cliffhanger which we can all guess will be on the survivors reaching Terminus. Consequently apart from the 1st episode after the break they had tried to eek the story out and the quality has suffered accordingly.

Uninstalled Skype and rebooted the phone and all seems well again. Changed a few settings on my battery guru too allowing my apps to refresh only when used or opened. Will keep you posted to see if it makes much difference. Cheers for the tips Apparently Google is aware of a bug which afflicts Skype and similar which basically runs the camera app in the background and drains the battery and are working on a bugfix.

When you have watched it from the very first episode its not easy to just switch off with only 4 episodes to go. Going by the reactions on other forums it seems that the audience is split between the good and the awful. I understand the comments about character development but the trouble was from last nights episode what new did we actually learn about Daryl or Both, we knew Daryl was emotionally closed and Beth had had a closeted upbringing way before now. I fully expect it to ramp up over the next few weeks and I don't mean in violence or action just more of an interesting storyline with the main characters coming together. One last point I cannot believe that they wouldn't have arranged some kind of meeting point should something happen........

I don't think his purchases have done that bad. El Ahmadi has improved a little and Vlaar has improved a lot. Lowton and Sylla have admittedly gone backwards Westwood at the very least hasn't declined IMO Bennett's been injured for most of the season Benteke's a strange one. He has declined but I think some of the factors are out of Lambert's control. Too early to judge this summer's signings. So 8 signings if we include Guzan. One has improved alot One has improved and one has improved a bit One has stayed about the same (no improvement) Two have gone backwards and one has gone back quite a bit. One is injured. The younger players seem to have stood still or got worse.

The Walking Dead is a bit pedestrian at the moment (no pun intended) Its becoming obvious that they will all converge at the same point (Terminus) and unless its run by someone akin to The Governor Im not sure how it can pan out with the same few survivors we have followed so far....

S5 meh, Samsung could have gone further but it may not have made much difference in day to day use.
