  1. for spurs its a good thing like kyle walker. if simon does well they take back and wee allowed him to get prem experience and increase his value. if he doesnt do well its at our cost not theirs
  2. looks good on vid but then so did KEA. seems to be the foil for CNZ doing the same on teh opposite wing - wing being the operative word here. still having nightmares about 5 centre forwards v bradford and not one of them told to hug the touchline. possbily the worst management ive ever seen on a football pitch
  3. its a two way street though. villa go to bradford, poor tactics, miss chances, crap defending, followed by a two week propoganda campaign from gabby, lambert etc etc roar the boys home, the fans can get us there blah blah blah. you dont need to blackmail the people who support the club to buy the tickets. we will come. BUT give us something to cheer, to support you with, we arent the millionaires who seem to think the game is to pass the ball along the half way line for 80% of the game. we arent the manager bereft of ideas and tactics who says he is as gutted as us. no you arent mate, this isnt your team you support, its your job, and you are doing it badly, and all this talk of we go again is rubbish. you poick the team, you tell them how to play. if you play four centre forwards and no wingers then what happened will happen. one of bradford centre halfs was on radio this morning and he said the defenders actually stopped to count 5 villa centre forwards at one point and he actually said if we could stop and chat it shows we werent under that much pressure. he wasnt taking the mick but he said we tried to play route one, div 4 football which is what they do week in week out. theyve only won one game in january and lost the rest. gabby wide left, weiman wide right, bent, benteke in the middle. if you persist with 4 up front at least try and play some formation. lambert needs to stop hiding and come ouyt and say he was tactically out of depth; my son's under 7's wouldnt play like that,
  4. its not the despair that i cant stand, its the hope. and i reckon barry manilow couldve picked a better forward pass than barry bannan
  5. crazy drive home to bristol with one lane of M5 clear from snow, wonder why you bother. where to start 4 centre forwards, no wingers. full backs who cant attack (or defend) - i think they are glued to the half way line. bring back hutton and warnock, all is forgiven lowton every time comes infield and has ball on wrong side of his body delph ran his socks off but only ran forward once. it blew a huge hole in their midfield. if we were attacking from touchline to touchline we'd beat brazil - the whole concept of going forward seems lost on them gabby looked disinterested none of them communicate, none have any passion, only vlaar came and clapped at the end ireland was played out of position, three centre mids (plus nzog) all in each others way no width lambert is to blame, no tactics other than slowly left to right and back again. 4 centre forwards and no supply - if every **** in the ground can see this doesnt work why cant he - there was almost 30 minutes of this defending set pieces - unbelievable no drive from the bench - unless they are playing to his tactics he should be up shouting what to do which leads me to believe they played to his plan team of players either too thick or overcoached - noone seems to be able to think or do anything off the cuff i dont care if lambert says he is as gutted as the fans, he couldve changed it tonight, we couldnt. not good enough. owners with nothing to say. id rather he told us all to **** off than say nothing at all. nero watching rome burn. faulkner couldnt run a bath, never mind a football club, no direction, thought goes into anything we do, humiliation of a great insititution, lowest point in decades. good luck to bradford though, deserved their win.
  6. i remember the bolton one, i live in somerset so drove up dragging a couple of mates, got stuck behind a broken down bus on the aston flyover bit so got to the ground a minute before kick off, got to turnstyle and realised in my rush i'd ripped off the side bit of the ticket and thrown it in the bin by the A38 roundabout with the envelope so had to leg it back, missed hitz's free kick and then watched from upper north as mccann commited career suicide. ivan campo was egging him on all the way and he fell for it. absolute sickening feeling. anyway, onwards and upwards tonight - we'll get four, dont know how many they will but i think we'll absolutely batter them or draw. cant wait.
  7. and i bet agents are round PL / PF like flies round sh#t at the moment as they know we'll be desperate. in the end its who is fooling who though - agents can flog their players to whoever pays the most, they dont care if we go down or not. i get the impression PF wouldnt know one end of a deal from the other
  8. i saw the odds before the game - i think any villa fan could be taking the bookies for a ride at the moment as they keep giving teams good odds against us - wigan were 2 -1 to win at villa, bradford were 3-1 i think last night. im gutted but notsurprised we lost. i think we could score 4 or 5 at VP with a full house behind us but i think they could also score the same. i couldnt believe they had two corners in the last minute and kept the ball in the corner!! if i was them they shouldve been goiung for the kill. i think they deserved to win as bar the first ten minutes of the second half our plan was hoof. nzog looked half decent but we had 4 players within yards of each other and no width, as for the centre mids - we havent got a clue. special mention for bennett as he looks like he's about 14. i feel for him as clearly way out of his depth but if you have a manager who picks you and then sits in stoney silence on the bench when you are being battered what can we expect. no leadership on the pitch or off - phil parkinson was heading every ball from the dugout, lambert was head down, clueless. dont think we should change managers again but if he goes into the transfer market to sign a 20 year old from inter milan he needs sectioning - that kind of player is not going to scrap their way out of a dog fight. sad to say we need the unfashionables like WBA's midfield - unknown brits who get stuck in. and a leader or ten.
  9. ive said this for years - we must have the Opta stats for the worse throw in to possession ratio ever recorded. we give at least every second throw in away within at least 3 seconds of taking it.
  10. agreed on the money of course but i think if paul lambert is giving it this "honestly, there is no issue" line i think he's treating the media and public as mugs. or is prepared to risk his job by leaving the alledged star player out of a squad when we cant score goals. career suicide unless his "honesty" is rubbish and he has lerners backing to drop him,
  11. my first game at VP this year so cant profess to be an expert however i thought; Bannan and Westwood both appeared to be doing the same job gabby weiman benteke and even holman at some points were stood in a line about three yards from one another waiting for a long ball and knock on we had no width, only once in second half did stevens go ahead of gabby abd get a cross in. he was sometimes all over the shop but at least warnock used to do that more regularly in first half bannan would look up to do a pass and there were 4 or 5 villa players all straight in front and noone moving. he was poor but didnt have many options on offer. Bent - clearly something afoot here. we have 11 goals in 14 games and he doesnt even make the bench. i feel sorry for him and think we are treating him poorly whatever the issue much better with ireland on and if gabby controlled his through ball he'd have been one on one Next time; think we need width so either gabby plays left mid / wing of 4 3 3 or 4 4 2 with him and tekkers up front. not all of them playing centre forward which it looked like tonight. and well done baker and clark - very good against roberts and was a relief when he went off
  12. 6 marking flecther, noone else can score. whats the odds on that short armed midget gardener scoring and doing his silly wavey armed stuff in front of us. he should be busy with panto season coming up.
  13. he's got a 12 plate ferrari within weeks of arriving at B6 so i dont think he's starving

  17. my concern is im not worried these days who l'plop sign or arsenal sign, its the fact stoke, saints, sunderland, baggies, west ham are all spending and they'll be the ones we are competing with now. they are spending 30 million to guarantee 50 million from tv rights. given the new deal its worth billions so dropping out of prem is costlier than ever. to try and cut back and reduce wages and leave squad so think will cost us ten fold if we go down. yes it needs to be done but not to point we're down.
  18. my local team bristol city brought out a new signing at half time on tues eve who'd be signed about 30 minutes earlier - i reckon it will be going on from 5pm sat night till 11.59pm next friday. its a feeding frenzy now. and re the players my mate represents, he keeps his cards close to chest but he said one is a prem league striker that he's got out to clubs and we said no to - he wont say who but said plays for a top 8 club. he deals with all sorts, he's got a couple of full backs from chamopionship apparently which is why i think he was VP yesterday and a couple of goalies. hope to see him tonight.
  19. So what did your agent pal tell you about yesterdays meeting? im still waiting - doing my head in as im dying to know what the craic is. will let you all know as soon as i hear
  20. problem is if we have a buy to sell mentality, by excluding warnock and hgutton from squads doesnt exactly make potential suitors think they are much cop. at least if they were in te squad and being involved, should we be left with them next week at least they know what the craic is and are ready to play if needs be. i think its bad man management to exclude two senior players from the first team squad for the sake of it when we are woefully short of players of any nature. of we cant flog them do we think they'll suddenly want to give 110% for PL if he asks. i would, but im a villa fan, this is their job and if my boss made it clear he didnt want me there, when he needed me i might do the same back to him!
  21. i agree we'd be spending it on other players but the problem is its a bit of a free for all at this time and its more a case of who you get. as for lawro - he wouldnt have a clue. i remember his friday score prediction on bbc.co.uk a couple of years ago was "stoke will be looking to finish top half with this win" - but they were 7 points off 10th with a game to go. probably on £500k and doesnt have a clue. jobs for the boys. id believe his opinion on gay saunas though
  22. Any update on the fella who became an agent last week striking some big deals at VP today mate?? i sent him a text about half hour ago - no reply as yet. he did send me a picture of 8 black guys from the back of various shades of colour and asked me if i could guess which one we were signing and who it was though
  23. as per my potential ITK status mentioned last night, my mate the football agent is at VP tomorrow for a meeting. will see what goss i can get from him
