Agree but I wouldn't want Warnock at Emirates or Old Trafford.. I'll play Clark there if we can't get a replacement.. Well yeah I agree, ideally I wouldn't want him either and we need a replacement, but I'd still rather have a more experienced player in the bigger games and if it had to be Warnock so be it.

What's actually going on with Warnock? Ok he isn't in the team but to put a completely rookie in ahead of a seasoned Premier League player, regardless of his form, is very odd. If we don't sell him this window and bring in a replacement I will be very disappointed because otherwise we have no recognised left-back, only players that 'can do a job there'. Baker did well yes, but hardly who you want when we're at the Emirates or Old Trafford.

Hard to pick a MOTM but voted Collins before I read all the comments. Just immense. At the start of the game I wasn't confident at all knowing that Houllier had decided to opt out of a potentially big decision in dropping either Gabby or Albrighton and playing Young and Downing in the middle made me a little unsure, but it was a brilliant display. The defence were one thing. They were always there, and didn't dive in for once! That is where the game was won, we just didn't commit ourselves as we usually do and were so so so so disciplined at the back. They had no space going forward whatsoever and only really looked like scoring during the five minute period Dzeko headed wide and they hit the post. Arguably the best defensive display I have ever seen from a Villa side. Stan ran his socks off and Houllier brought on NRC just at the right time as he tired. Downing was brilliant and the front four of Young, Albrighton, Gabby and Bent worked tirelessly and selflessly for the cause both defending from the front and attacking. I'd argue we did in fact look more like scoring when going forward than when City did. Just what a result, absolutely over-joyed!

They do sometimes play it at VP, just I think only a handful know the words. Would be great though. Spread the word!

I agree, IF Bent reproduces the form he has shown at every other club he has been at (as he should), it is a brilliant investment for several reasons. The thing that I believe about this deal is it will help keep Ashley Young at the club, which is worth £18m by itself!
