  1. He should have started every he has been fit for, he was our most consistent defender last season and he has looked the best this season
  2. Dunne should not be playing! he has been shit all season and has already cost us at least 3 goals this season. FFS how are we losing
  3. If Heskey keeps up his form we'll win. I see this being 2-0 our way but i wouldn't be disappointed with a draw.
  4. Forgot about him, it was very late! I'm undecided to be honest, he has that knack of being in the right place at the right time and he certainly has the work rate and desire. Again, I'm not convinced that this is enough to go on and be a top level player, as stupid as this sounds it may depend on how he fares (and if he scores) if he was to be given 10 appearances. If I was pinned down for an answer I'd say that he could do something similar to say Matt Derbyshire who did quite well for Blackburn and bagged himself a few goals but ultimately they didn't quite thing he was good enough to take them forward. What are your thoughts on Lichaj? A few months ago i would have given him no chance but been hearing a lot more positives about him off late
  5. Did he sleep with Houliers misses or something? Whats the backline going to be? Beye - Collins - Clark - Warnock? Dunne is fit. Dunne hasn't looked fit at all this season, i'd rather him get a week or 2 off and actually look and play like hes fit. Also against Sunderland they will look to use the pace of their strikers and if Dunne isn't 100% Bent will have a field day with him.
  6. Of course you guys having trouble with wages look at how many players you got in vs how many you sold . I'm off to a flyer 6 games 6 wins leading the table. Carew and Young are my leading scorers with Downing Gabby and Park close behind. Ireland is my lead assister and really creates a lot of chances. My only negative is I lost my 3rd round LC match in penalties but EC is going well with 2 games and 2 wins.
  7. Transfer window is closed, I got: Park Ji Sung - 4.5mil (great bargin and apparently increases my revenue because of asain market) Etuhu - 6mil bit expensive but suits my system Nekounam - 2.9mil experienced DM good for rotation Out: Davies - 1.5mil to bolton, had to pay 3k a week to get him to leave Sidwell - 2.3mil everton Osbourne - 250k to Derby Loaned out : Delfouneso(Hull), Weinman, Baker, Parish ,Siegrist, Lowry Decided to send Fonz out as i'm playing a 4-2-3-1 and see no need for a 4th striker. Heskey was impossible to sell which was annoying because i had Van Nistelrooy ready to come in his place for 1.3 mil. Gabby has been good for me in this formation being used as a poacher, hes got 2 goals and 3 assists from 2 starts and 2 sub appearances.
  8. Did he sleep with Houliers misses or something? Whats the backline going to be? Beye - Collins - Clark - Warnock?
  9. Has anyone been able to sell Heskey? offered him to clubs at many different prices but no one is biting. Could really do with that extra 60k already have transfers ready to put through.
  10. Like the improvements so far. What camera angle have people been going with, the default one didn't sit well with me so was wondering peoples preferences. The contracts seem like a good opportunity to no longer pay ridiculous amounts for players if you can work the agent around. Andy think you have done a good job with the stats, agree with most (with difference of 1 point here and there), my only complaint is over Cuellar having a passing stat of 4. If NRC gets an 8 surely his passing is as good as that.
  11. Do you know the rest of the team? Don't understand how CC isn't starting, he's in form and when he plays our team looks better at the back.
  12. Missing Lampard and Drogba will really hurt them, it means we can really focus on shutting down anelka and malouda without having to worry about the others pulling off ridiculous things. I'd play Friedel L.Young KingCarlos Collins Warnock or King Carlos Collins Dunne L.Young depending on Dunnes fitness Petrov NRC Sidwell Young Downing Heskey I'd play sidwell with the sole objective of kicking essien and Mikel in the middle, Chelsea are devastating on the counter and most of those attacks start with essien or mikel.
  13. Have you seen him play much at all, because if you are saying that solely on his 15 Premier League minutes and 1 game against Vienna its a bit harsh, Most people who rate him have seen a lot more of him so i'd trust their judgement.
  14. Downing, Reo-coker and Heskey played well and should all be happy with their performances. Albrighton was decent and did well to get the goal. Young was anonymous once Heskey went off. Carew was epic shit. Couldn't do anything right. Dunne was at fault for both goals. Was caught out of position, when the diagonal ball goes into crouch the only thing on his mind is putting the ball back across goal and when there is only 1 Spurs player to aim at you expect the Cb to be marking him like his life depended on it. Instead he was ball watching and just continuing with the crap season he has had so far.
  15. 3-1 our way with A.Young, Downing and Heskey scoring
  16. 1. 2-1 Villa hopefully but it really could be anything with the combination of new manager syndrome and a derby match 2. Ashley Young 3. Doyle, Jarvis and Craddock in that order 4. & 5. Dont like to comment on worst players 6. Bannan 7. 7th 8. 13th 10. Nope.
  17. Hoping Bannan gets a start, been looking goof this season and i'm really hoping he makes it
  18. Firstly I don't think Petrov is anywhere near as good as I think you do. I think he is not fit enough to play 90 minutes in a 4-4-2 and fades in the second half. I believe that this was partially masked last season by Milner's fantastic engine. I think he can play in a 4-3-3/4-5-1 but even there I would prefer someone with more energy. Again, I am not sure what attributes you think he has that make him our best CM'er. You talk of technique but I am not sure how this manifests itself. He does slow things down and retain possession but I think this loses us the momentum against poorer sides allowing them to re-group and I think this was evidenced in several home and away games last year against this category of team e.g. Wigan H, Wolves H, Wet Spam H & A. I do think his ball retention is useful against better sides although again, I think Delph is better at this as evidenced in his display against Man U at home. Our ideal CM for me with everybody fit would be: --------------- NRC ---------------- Agressive tackling ---------------------- Delph ------- Controlling the game/keeping things ticking over ------- SI -------------------------- Getting around the striker I think he's our best CM because he has the best positional sense by far. He gets himself into positions to make tackles and receive the ball. He is our only CM that can sit on the ball and more importantly control the tempo. NRC is very much a 1 tempo player and when you aren't retaining the ball most of the time he is just going to help it come straight back. I don't agree at all with your loses us momentum argument. Against poorer sides we should be aiming to dominate possession and only counter at the right times. When Petrov thinks the counter is on he releases the ball quickly (I will concede that i think that he could play for the counter a little more often) but I don't understand how not trying killer passes and simply ticking the ball over as well as he does is bad for momentum. Delph is promising but still learning, but i thought one of our best midfield performances last season was with Delph and Petrov against Bolton. Hopefully when he comes back we can rotate him in for a few games. Sidwell hasn't shown anything for us to consider him as anything more then back-up with a good long shot. SI hasn't shown ability to work in a midfield duo, so lets bother with him for now.
  19. Interesting point. I think if we played with a 4-2-3-1 with Ash and Ireland in the 3 they could both play more central and leave the other attacker to give us width. To play without wingers you need very good fullbacks to give the team width and a very good DM to drop deep when the fullbacks push forward. With our current team i just dont think we can pull that off.
  20. Our current situation reminds me of Spurs just when Candle Face came in. We have a decent squad with some good players and some useful players coming through. Much like Spurs we need a good strong defensive/ ball winning midfielder and an improved strikeforce. A couple of decent signings in january and moving on a couple of players in summer and i really think we can crack 4th place.
  21. Dunne off. Good decision.
  22. Thats not fair Downing has been one of the better players, his movement has been good hes looked to take on players and be creative. Ireland has been the worst of the midfield 5 by far. personally dont think Dunne looks fit enough and its going to cost us.
  23. Nope just not picked, we playing 1 striker and have 2 on the bench, no need for him.
  24. Its really not that crazy. He expects us to play more possession football at home, so hes set us up to retain the ball, the important thing here is to not get drawn into a physical battle and just play the game we're set up to play. hopefully Bannan can get some minutes today, hes been in good form and i think he offers us something a little different.
  25. Good, never watch us play again if you don't mind. Thanks. Burnley at home last year, I got asked to move my car just at the start of the 2nd half. Missed ALL four goals!!..Heard VP erupt every time!.. Gabby scoring the last just as I got back to the ground. Security at gate said.. "You've missed four goals lass!!!"....I nearly punched him!! In all seriousness you need to stop watching games. Or at least miss 15 minutes of every game.
