  1. So turns out Spurs haven't scored in the first 18 minutes of any PL game this season. Let's hope they break that record before they play us.
  2. Can't rely on Spurs for anything. And why the **** could Sidwell not play like this for us.
  3. Really hope we don't lose today. The atmosphere will be horrific if we do. It will be like Bolton at home under McLeish.
  4. I think we need 3 points to definitely be safe but i'd take a point today in a heartbeat. Even we drew today and Fulham, Cardiff and Sunderland lost, which is quite feasible, all would need 2 wins from 3 (3 from 4 in Sunderland's case) to overtake us because of the GD. Norwich would also then need a win and a draw from their horrific fixture list, which is also very tricky. However, 3 points today would be amazing.
  5. I know. I **** hate seeing his smug face on Soccer Saturday every time Southampton score. He's awful for ignoring his own game and just bothering with the Southampton one.
  6. Where's that picture of that dude from South Park covered in spaff. It's the headline article in both the Guardian and the Telegraph. They both released it at the same time last night. They must have something concrete even if they can't print it. It's not like it's the Sun. I was sceptical about this whole thing until last night - but there has to be something happening now. Reckon it's 50/50 how this could turn out - anyone know what the success rate is with American owners? Gilette and Hicks were a disaster, Sunderland seem to be going down due to management similar to Lerner's, under Ellis Short. Fulham's guy seems a bit trigger happy with managers but he's invited heavily in January taken a gamble and it could pay off. The Glazers have no money of their own.... Would take a John Henry every day of the week. Sunderland are going down because their team is full of alchos. Allegedly?
  7. It's a real shame you ruined a potentially solid and well-reasoned argument with the childish bolded words. I stopped reading after those childish words. In desperate times, desperate words are required. It's a shame people can't see the humour in the word "Lambertiles". You people takes things too seriously Might be the Lamberk comment that was deemed childish, which by the way it is. Resorting to crap name calling isn't really necessary. Us people are capable of coming to our own conclusions on the manager's ability without it. On that subject I think Lambert has IMO earned himself a reprieve for a couple of games. We will soon see whether Culverhouse and Karsa had a negative impact on the team/tactics, which I hope they did as this means that something can be salvaged from this wreck of a season. Lose our next 2 games though and Villa Park will be horrific for the Hull game.
  8. With all the rumours of a takeover if we stay up, I really hope we can at least get a point tomorrow and edge ourselves a little further away from danger. 3 points from our next 3 games should see us safe. If we are going down I think we will pretty much need to lose 9 games in a row, which is atrocious. Even a League 1 team could fluke 1 win against 9 different PL teams so let's hope we can do the same.
  9. Bingo! ... if the club doesn't find some extra income, FFP won't allow unlimited spending. The days, where a club (like Chelsea FC) could spend, spend, spend and lose £650 mill over a 10 year period in order to 'build a team', is long gone. The big clubs' wage bill is near £200 mill a year. Our total revenue is just above £80 mill. Sure a sponsorship with Orcale worth £200 mill a year would help, but UEFA wouldn't look kindly on that. The rules are easily circumvented. FFP is a farce. Didn't Barca or something get embargo or transfer ban or something recently? Not cos of FFP. Think it was because they were breaching the rules of signing under-age players.
  10. Yeah but this is Aston Villa. We will get relegated to bollocks this deal up and be stuck with Lerner.
  11. If the PL overturn the result and award Cardiff 3 points that would set a dangerous precedent if it led to another club getting relegated. Saying that, maybe something similar has happened with us and we are also looking at taking action against another club.
  12. Anyone think that we could get bought out even if we go down? Financially it will take a boat load to get us competitive again anyway so a season in the Championship wouldn't be horrendous. Surely we would be one of the favourites to come back up.
  13. I wish we'd brought in Dann in January as we needed another CB who can actually defend.
  14. We really need to take control of the situation and aim for at least 3 points from our next 3 games. Anything less and it could be a bit dicey come the Spurs game. Can still see Sunderland, Cardiff and Norwich going down but don't want to be involved in a relegation battle on the last day of the season.
  15. Any chance this could have a positive impact on how we play?
  16. This would be true if it didn't involve a football club.
  17. Sods law is that we will go down now and we will be stuck with Lerner.
  18. Question is would there still be new investors/owners if we went down? Let's hope so.
