Surely when Lionel is fit he is in the starting line up? Maybe to get us out for the next few games but IMO we need these youngsters ready to become regulars next season. Albrighton and Bannan should be by next season, delfouneso could be and needs to be as I don't think Carew or Heskey will be here next year. We need to get out of the shit, then we can think about blooding youngsters for next year. Fonz is playing well and deserves a start but Lionel is most important player, if GH drops him then he deserves the sack.

You always go on about people making excuses... Do you really think if we had the same amount of injurys as your average premiership club this year we'd be in this position still? I certainly do not. So therefore it's not an excuse... it's a reason. So how about stop dismissing them? I think the fact most senior players when fit haven't performed makes the injury excuse a poor one. I think the fact we've had a near fully fit squad for the past 5 games and managed 2 points shows the injury excuse is a poor one. They arent excuses but we may as well get behind the manager till the end of the season. Its not been great but performances have improved immeasurably. Remember our most important player of recent weeks was out today and we still should have won, when Lionel is back with a re-juvenated Webcam, we will be better. No one else available who is decent, so lets get behind the lads.

This. Season is a write off. I dont like who we have in charge but i understand he is trying to change the culture at the club that was poisonous beforehand. He may not be the man to take us forward past this year but we will be in a better position in the summer, should we stay up IMO.

That's ridiculous. :| you can be unlucky with injuries and inherit players that don't want to play for you or the club which I think GH has and thats not his fault. Playing Gabby on the wing shows he doesn't know his players or squad at all. Fitting names into the team to suit a formation is a sign he is not suited to managent at all. I would imagine he thinks that Gabby is a good player (hence new contract) but is struggling with confidence, so instead of having him as the main striker with all the pressure on him he is trying to utilise his pace and build his confidence up without the pressure. But yes, i would imagine you know better.

This thread should be closed as it is now 16th Jan, so if we were to sack him we wouldnt have anyone in before transfer window closes. We have to back him and hope for the best, for now. Who else is out there at the moment anyway? Curbishley? Hughton? Grant? No thanks.

90k on Bridge wouldn't fit well. But it is short term to preserve our premier league status. Our new transfer policy is to sign young players who will improve, with a few experienced players in. We have an extra 6ish players this season in our squad as the young-uns are playing. So we can offload the trouble-makers/dead wood and gives us leeway to sign some experienced players on decent wages i.e. Makoun whilst also scouring the world for good young players i.e. fofana. This obviously makes a change from signing over-priced/rated young english players who end up on large wages anyway. I am supportive of Randy's new policy but dont think it will mean we will not sign good experienced players.

We have money to spend, just need to reduce wage bill. Get rid of the likes of carew, beye etc and Randy will open his chequebook as he did for Monny. But 80% of turnover being taken up by playing staff wages is not sustainable but the club can afford to spend money on transfers as its a one off. I think if a manager of the calibre of moyes came in, he would get serious money to spend but would need to be careful on wages.

our manager is always a word removed in the English press, so whats the differance?? None. But to remove Pires will only cost £400000 to sack now whereas the manager has been backed and will cost £8m to remove. Dont need a tosser like him at our club.

Pires was too busy being a clearing in the woods this week on french radio to be actually working hard in training.
