  1. why is he not on the bench? absolutely ridiculous
  2. Petrov for me gets a long rest, and comes off the bench once we are winning to hold onto the ball/play his sideways & backwards passes.
  3. would like to see him alongside hokey-cokey for chelsea, Petrov benched.
  4. For me it should be: Fridel L. Young Cuellar Collins Warnock Sidwell/Petrov Reo-Coker Young Ireland Downing Gabby (if fit, if not Heskey) Subs: Guzan, Clark, Lichaj, Bannan, Sidwell/Petrov, Carew/Heskey, Delfounesso.
  5. Hi General, Glad you are back. Just wanted to pass on my congratulations on getting a man to manage our club who has achieved so much in the game, and is so well respected by all at FIFA and UEFA. His knowledge of the game and contacts can only benefit us in the long run, even if we don't finish 6th this year. I am very excited about the future, and if Gérard can put the same systems into place as he did at the 'pool, we will be a very successful club for many years to come. Vivé la Revolution!
  6. tbf,Diouf had a good world cup and other teams where after him.. It was more the bit about enjoying training that interested me after bibs n cones.
  7. not sure if this has been posted by henrywinter has posted on twitter: henrywinter Patrice Bergues following Houllier to #AVFC. #Liverpool players really enjoyed Bergues training sessions (tho he did recommend buying Diouf)
  8. Not just Cheyrou and Diao though. What about Ferri, Kippe, Song, Traore, Camara, Meijer, Diomede, Arphexad, Vignal, Sjölund, Biscan, Baros, Le Tallec, Sinama Pongolle and Luzi Bernardi? :winkold: Every manager out there has their fair share of poor signigns, but that's quite an extensive list. 6 years at pool, Monny had 4 years at villa so lets take 2/3rds and say he bought 12 not good enough in a 4 year for a good liverpool side. Lets look at Monny (who i supported, and still thank for reviving us before i get slammed) and list his failures for a side that werent at liverpools level under Houllier: Maloney, Routledge, Salifou, Davies, Knight, Carson, Harewood, Sidwell, Shorey, Heskey, Guzan, Downing, Beye. All managers buy players who dont live up to expectations for one reason or another. Yes, but I think you're being a bit too harsh on some of those players. I wouldn't put eg Knight, Sidwell and Downing in a 'total failures' list, like the signigns I've listed for Houllier. I'd compare those three to Houllier's 'average ones' like Heggem, Westerveld, Smicer, Barmby, Ziege, Xavier, Diarra... The list I gave was a 'total flops' list. :winkold: Fair enough. I see your point!

Houllier didn't buy as many players per season as MON did, he never needed to because he took over an excellent team. Houllier spent £131m on players, in 2010 terms that would be £245m, bought one brilliant player, a few useful ones and an awful lot of rubbish and took Liverpool from 3rd to 4th. How do you work out the figures? An excellent team that did finish third but was on the wane and finished 7th the next (with Houllier/Evans for 1/2 a year). Our team wasnt great but we had some decent players, who he shipped out i.e. Cahill for little and replaced for little better for alot more money. Im not trying to downgrade the work of MoN but just to say he won alot, bought some decent players and obviously knows what he is doing most of the time.

  11. im not sure how its nothing when he has so publicly been overlooked for the top job? Any right minded individual would be disappointed. Apparently 4 current premiership managers have applied for soton job, wouldnt surprise me if KMac was one of these.
  12. How long did we have to wait until he said he wanted the job you mean? Just because he said to sky/bbc whoever that he was thinking about it doesnt mean that he was still deciding? Whether he would make it as a prem manager or not makes not difference to the fact that if reports are correct, and that as ever is a big if, he has been messed around. I dont see why they needed to make the fact that he wanted the job public? We could have kept the discussions private and then appointed someone else and it wouldnt have been so much of a problem.
  13. That, if true, is a disgrace and my opinion of the board would go down hugely. Because the board didnt contact him the day after his interview? Why should they? Did they promise faithfully to do that? Seriously, I'm failing to see why it is such a huge slap in the face that they didn't contact him the day after his interview. Someone please enlighten me? They encouraged him to apply, plastered it everywhere, then didnt contact him after they interviewed him and are apparently going to appoint someone else. Is that not a slap in the face? That's not what the article says. It says they did not contact him the day after his interview. So if his interview was on a Monday and they didn't contact him until the Wednesday, that's a disgrace? Unless they specifically promised him an answer within 24 hours then reneged, this smells of just another excuse to slate the board. The lack of contact is an issue if true, and im not saying its is or not, because i dont know the faccchhttss. I went for an internal interview only recently, and was told to go for it. I was concerned as the interview approached that they had something else in mind, and had that happened i would have felt my position was untenable. As it was I was appointed and I'm sure they never felt any other way, but if someone else had been appointed, even though i had been pushed forward, I would have rather have found a position elsewhere than stayed. I'm sure KMac will now look elsewhere for a managerial position, and i am sure he will have many takers.

  15. **********************BREAKING NEWS************************ Emule Heskey has fallen on the waterslide into the pool at BH and popped it. Ashley Young said to be devastated, however, new manager Gerard Houllier has turned to Phil Thompson's nose as a replacement.
  16. That, if true, is a disgrace and my opinion of the board would go down hugely. This worries me also, if this is true I will be very disappointed by the boards actions. If you dont want him dont encourage him to apply and then put it all over the clubs website.
  17. His approval rating is based upon his time with liverpool when he played crap football and bought pretty poorly. However, he did do quite well, trophy wise. The verdict is out for me, we'll have to give him a chance and see.
  18. its is only reports, bob bradley was our manager, then sven, then curbs...
  19. Technical Director: GH First Team coach: KMac Assistant first team coach: Brian Little Coaches: Laursen, Saunders, Cowans, Thommo, Daley, Yorke, Spink. This is what I would like.
  20. Im willing to give whoever gets the job/s a chance. We gave Monny a chance, he took us forward with huge investment, im sure Houllier and KMac will take us forward.
  21. any links?? wishful thinking... Moyes has said nothing since he went to favourite, only the Liverpool echo ran a story where their everton editor said he wouldnt leave which was picked up on by the national media with a justification from Krulak about appointing a manager from another club, when clearly GK meant appointing someone who has just gone to a club i.e. Sparky. If there is a god, please let him bring Moyes to B6.
  22. He went to Paris to interview David Moyes for the job out of the glare of the media. Moyes to be installed as manager with a £50m warchest in jan/summer as long as he can shift fringe players of the wage bill.
  23. I think the club are being clever, but not in that way. They have allowed KMax to through his hat into the ring so if the preferred candidates wont/cant be prised from their clubs, we can appoint him rather than go for a 2nd rater i.e. curbs. This way no-one loses face etc. If we appoint someone like a Moyes, KMac goes back to hid old job, wiser for experience, also may put his name in the frame for another managerial appointment. If think KMac is a back-up option.
  24. contacted by our headhunting agency only. As Gazton says, many will be contacted and sounded out, a list will/has been submitted and we started interviewing yesterday. If Randy offers serious cash (the like MoN had) we will get Moyes.
