  1. Hi General, Just wanted to check that no stone will be left unturned in our quest for a new manager. Are we looking at managers from the football league as well as those from across the globe? As I believe we could find an excellent young british manager from the league below us. Thanks!
  2. Can we compile a shortlist to be put forward to the General?
  3. MoN is gone, we can speculate on his reasons, but why bother. Lets move on, get behind the new manager whoever it is and support the Villa. This is our club, long before Martin joined us.
  4. His teams play pretty decent football, he can spot a player. The only issue I have is with his ego, but he would be a decent shout also.
  5. Best managerial appointments of last 20 years: Sir Alex - from Aberdeen Arsene Wenger - from Monaco (via Japan) David Moyes - from Preston Jose Mourinho - from Porto The best and most stable appointments have been surprises for the fans and relative unknowns. The most recent example (ignoring Mourinho) was Moyes who was plucked from Preston after a couple of decent seasons. We do not need a Svennis or someone similar. We need to do an Everton and find a Moyes. The championship is a breeding ground for good managers. We are not going to finish below 10th, we can afford to get a younger bristish manager who plays football in the right way and will build a legacy at our club.
  6. I would advise all to listen to the game podcast. I hate Gabrielle Marcotti but in this instance he talks sense. Sean O'Driscoll please, I placed a bet on him day after MoN left. He is the man we need.
  7. I never want to see Ronald Koeman anywhere near the villa except to slice the half time oranges.
  8. The kit looked alright, prefer home to away. FX Pro didnt look to bad either, rather take the money and still have acorns though!
  9. I hate wellyface. How he consistently gets away with 'I'd love him in my team, but until we are told otherwise he is their player and they want to keep him, but he is a great player, my chairman deals with all the transfers so you'd have to speak to him, but i love him as a player and i think anyside would want him, but as things stand he isnt going anywhere because they dont want to sell, but if he was available id have him in a heartbeat. Any other manager would get called up in front of FA.
  10. Today we got the ball down, moved it around and didnt force passes to often. Totally different to MoN's tactics. K-Mac played the system MoN has tried now and then and played throughout most of pre-season due to injury, internationals etc. They played with a freedom and confidence that I have not seen down at VP for a long time. Its early days but lets hope even if K-Mac isnt appointed, lets hope he is assistant.
  11. Id rather Kevin Mac than JG but I think JG could do a decent job.
  12. Had JG had money to spend back in the day, who knows where we would be now....
  13. Betting suspended on most bookies for bradley, ridiculously odds on with others.... They rarely get it wrong..
  14. http://www.ussoccer.com/News/News-Landing.aspx Go here and find news about Bradley leaving his post.... WARNING: This task will take forever.
  15. I would have expected MoN to say something by now, hes not normally so quiet. His silence is defeaning.
  16. Talksport claimed MoN had left April of this year, fundamental differences with owners about sell-to-buy policy and bringing wages into line. Obviously it turned out he hadnt gone, but what happened not too long afterwards.... I hope its crap, but Talksport do manage to get the odd scoop here and there so I dont think we can just put it down to them knowing shit.
  17. And I'd just like to say to those who think Bradley would be an inspired choice, the American FA can wait to get rid of him, he was a safety choice and they are now going to go with their first choice last time Klinnsmann. There is a reason his contract is not being renewed, he underperformed. It would be the same as appointing Billic who has little club management experience, and who underperformed recently with his nation.
  18. I think Bradley has more chance of ending up at DC United or a smaller european team than Villa. He has absolutely no top level club experience whatsoever, and his performance at the world cup left Americans underwhelmed. His squad was a shock to them and also that he persisted in playing Ricardo Clark who was clearly not up to the job. Id rather stay with Kevin Mac than appoint this joker.
  19. Bob Bradley has quit his job with the United States national team and is set to be named the new manager of Aston Villa, talkSPORT understands. The USA coach has emerged as the favourite to succeed Martin O’Neill, who resigned earlier this week following a disagreement with chairman Randy Lerner about how to take the club forward. Bradley took the USA to the second round of the World Cup in South Africa this summer and fellow American Lerner is said to be a big fan of the work he has done with his country’s national team. The 52-year-old, who has previously managed MLS sides including DC United and Chicago Fire, will not be in England in time for Villa’s opening Premier League fixture against West Ham tomorrow, but is expected to be unveiled as the new man at the helm at Villa Park next week. (TalkSport)

  21. Id like Sean O'Driscoll, Owen Coyle or Roberto Martinez.
