  1. Glaston's right on this one. 'Arry won't leave Spurs for the England job for two reasons: 1) Woy will get the job. He dicks on 'Arry. 2) 'Arry will have already left Spurs for some form of underhanded financial gain by 2012 (whether or not he will break his perfect record of leaving clubs with unmanageable wage bills in that short of a stint remains to seen).
  2. People are passionate about their local football clubs, they support them from childhood to death. They don't choose them, they are just stuck with them based on where they grow up. They go watch them play, wear clothes carrying their logo. That is in no way similar to a debate on which phone someone wants this year (or 6 months). I don't have a Villa AND a blues ST but I do have an andriod and an apple smart phone. All this stuff about "everyone who ones [sic] one or the other fights their side" is bullshit. Nobody I have ever encountered (except for you) has ever felt the need to "fight their side" about their phone. PS - I'm quite surprised you'd favour windows 7 given your passion for small differences in value and efficiency.
  3. Everything generates a "which is better" argument. You don't have to beat easily satisfied people with your slightly superior stick about it though. You don't need to write an angry, ranting note about how awesome the Mazda 6 is and leave it under the wiper of every Ford Mondeo you see... Or do you?
  4. Thanks CV, you put a much less worrying perspective on my phone geekishness. I thought that me knowing what all of the major smart phones out can do meant I cared far too much but I'm nowhere near caring enough to rant about it or preach to people about them. If someone asks my opinion then I'll give it, if someone challenges it then I'll explain why they're wrong. Are you this passionate about all slight differences in technology?
  5. Pleased with Houllier. Looking forward to Houllier than thou puns. Very thankful that Phil Thompson isn't coming in. It was the right decision for everyone involved, thanks Phil.
  6. Really? When he left the pool as a player he went to Sheff Utd, couldn't settle and retired at 31! This. Some people are professional enough to give everything against their home town & double career club, I don't believe PT is one of them.
  7. They could both **** each other's mothers at the presser for all I care, I'm still not paying. I'd rather buy a WWE PPV.
  8. **** shambles. I'd rather spend the money on buying a Small Heathen new chains for his daughter.
  9. This. We won't train the weeks before we play Plop, he'll just have the squad in a circle bukakeing a Gerrard shirt.
  10. Early Connery was the best (ie. early 60s not 70s) until Daniel Craig. I can't quite give a definitive reason why, them two just 'move' like i think Bond should.
  11. Fair play joey for arguing your side coherently and respectfully. I do agree to an extent about the comments referring to him as "**** terrible" being over the top but IMO his pace on the turn is nearly non-existent. It seems to be a really overlooked aspect of CBs in our national team. Terry, Upson, Carragher, Dawson etc. can all have excellent games providing the team around them is quick enough to cover them. If not then they get isolated, turned and generally torn apart. This isn't really what I want in an England CB tbh. It obviously can work but I think it's much easier to find a CB who can hold his own on the run rather than have to fill the rest of the back line with national quality sprinters in order to cover or risk letting opponents have several one on ones every game.
  12. This. Spurs have good defenders and defensive mids but Dawson is nothing more than a passionate trier. Edit: You don't think your midfield protects your back four better? :?
  13. Dunne who? Richard Dunne? PFA Premier League Team of the Year 2009/10 Richard Dunne? No, he was rubbish. All of his fellow professionals were just taking the piss when they voted him into that team. Richard Dunne would start for any team. IMO Lucio is better, Nesta is better (well was during his return to fitness), Ledley King is about as good when not injured (ie. rarely). Given both squads together (all fit) I would start L. Young, King, Dunne, BAE. What I will say is that your defensive midfielders are much better at protecting your back four, that would be my take on why you conceded less.
  14. Actually I've just realised If I use some riffmartik rather than vague rounding I only make £63 if he doesn't get the job. Sad times.
  15. Did you lay £100 at 3/1 (your liabilities therefore being £400)? No my liability was £100, so I stood to win about £35.
  16. I bet £20 on KMac early on when he was at 7.1 (about 6/1), then laid £100 against him after the Rapid draw at 3.92 (about 3/1), then backed him again (£20 at 8.5 ( 15/2)) after the rapid loss, then laid £80 against him when he declared his interest in the job at 2.15 (about evens!). I think I stand to make about £130 if he gets the job and £100 if he doesn't... *waits for skynet/levi to point out glaring error*
  17. A 'keeping cock up of Wengeresque proportions. After being reminded about his bizarre underrating of Friedel, JC and Warnock I've been swayed into the don't want camp.
  18. Shit. I had £2 on Martinez 2nd round stoppage. Fair play to burns though, that's a step higher than I expected him to reach tbh.
  19. Dawson is too **** slow and severely lacks agility, just like Terry and just like Carragher and to a certain point like Vidic. This means they can all look good aerially (except for Carragher) but they all get raped on the turn by pace into space. I don't know why we have to play these easily defeated static lumps in our national team, I really don't.
  20. I think both sides are wrong on this one tbh. I say 40/40 with the other 20 going to the winner. The whole 'all up front' pay structure is shitty IMO. PS - CED, local level boxing, IMHO, is boring as fook. I go and watch live about once a month but that's just to pacify my boxing fanboy friends so they'll come and watch more dynamic combat sports. My interest in boxing is purely for the technical and athletic sides of the sport. I like to watch boxers with good balance, power, footwork, cardio, reactions, combinations, game plans etc. compete against boxers with a similarly highly developed skill set. My insensitivity to violence means watching someone in my local community bar/hall try to beat a 10 count after being hit with the same 3 punch combination for 3 rounds doesn't really do it for me.
  21. Haye not fighting either Klitschko, They want his 50% of the German money but aren't willing to give him their 50% of the British money in return. Wlad is going to jab Sammy Peter until he retires from his stool while Vitali has got a tougher test in Shannon Briggs (who is basically David Haye in a wide screen slo mo). Haye looks like he'll fight the A-Force. *triple sigh* Was it just my giddy childhood naivety that made the 90s HW division seem exciting and dynamic or is this just a dismally conservative, talent starved era?
  22. Gallas is a stroppy retard, Sandro looks promising, Pletikosa looks agile but flappy and VDV is your new best player IMO. I look forward to your flat performances in post CL games though.
  23. They're pikeys looking to get money for nothing. I **** hate pikeys.
