  1. Welcome to the 700th page of dislike, discontent, dissatisfaction, depression and defence.
  2. He looked more dangerous playing from the left yesterday as he has done playing on the right recently, he cuts in better and used his acceleration over short distances effectively. He's not great at winning one on one foot races, but from a standing position, then suddenly accelerating to trick the opponent, he is effective.
  3. His work rate has been unbelievable of late, his tackling has improved and the fact he is a very good footballer as well makes him stand out above the rest of our squad. Like Swerbs said, our most important player now.
  4. Yeah he did well today, defensively and offensively. An assist and a goal. I bloody hope he keeps his place. Gotta say, Warnock on the other side has improved after going through an absolutely shocking period too.
  5. They were having a go, from what I saw, our players were working their socks off today. Goals change games, when they scored it changed the game and when we scored it did.
  6. Exactly McLeish is doing a poor job but I fail to see why its so funny what he said. We were 2-0 down dragged it back to 2-2 and were going forward to the point where Gab was through and looking to make it 3-2 only for the ref to bring the play back for Terry play acting. So on the ropes might not be quite the right term but we were in the ascendancy and its not that massive an exaggeration. So why is it so funny and deluded? McLeish might be shit but has anyone actually taken a step back to think how Lichaq played, or how Gardner fitted in once he moved inside, how Weimann movement was good, how corners aside Baker more than matched some of the best strikers going, how Alrbrighton made a great impact playing on the LEFT, how we got back in to the game from 2-0 down. And yeah the ref had an absolute mare, so coupled that with an average age of 23 for a team that have hardly played together, on an exceptionally emotional and strange day against a team who are full of internationals, experience and class players then do you know what we didnt do too bad. But no lets just keep moaning at them. I've skimmed through the match thread, comments like I'm done supporting this team and when we scored, i'm almost dissapointed we've scored, **** pathetic. The fans here gave up but the players actually didnt. **** McLeish but these lads deserve better today than half the shit thats been written on here. Too right mate, I was quite proud of the lads today, despite the loss, the young ones showed great courage to pull it back 2-2, and on another day, with another referee it could have ended a lot differently with Gabi 1 on 1 with the keeper. Small margins. The transfer fees for our starting line up didn't even come to half of the price Chelsea paid for Torres.
  7. To be fair we did have Chelsea on the ropes during the period between our first goal and their 3rd, and I think that was the period he was indicating in his interview with BBC. The ref was shocking today, could have been a different story if he didn't give that foul at 2-2 with Gabi on Terry. Terry clearly just fell on the floor when he realised he was beaten. The linesman didn't give it who was standing right by the incident. Gabs was pretty much 1 on 1 with the keeper then. Instead, they get a free kick, resulting in a corner and the goal when it could have so easily been 3-2 to us. But everyone knows all to well, it only takes a corner against us to change things.
  8. Do you think we should keep McLeish here???? Christ, why are people thinking I'm pro McLeish. I said in my original post that "As much as I'd like to blame McLeish today, I find it hard to for todays game." I'm not gonna blame someone for the sake of it just because I've blamed them most other games. Don't think he is fully justified for a rollicking today. It was inexperience vs vast experience today. But if I need to answer your question, I want him gone, as I've said many times.
  9. Hasn't our defending from corners been better the last couple of months with our experienced back 4?
  10. Our organisation at corners? To be fair we lost Cuellar at the last minute so Baker was thrown in, who probably isn't as well drilled. As is Lichaj. Players need to take some responsibility from corners.
  11. As much as I'd like to, it's hard to blame McLeish for today's game.
  12. Lichaj stood out today, Collins was also good, as was Ireland who is quickly becoming our most important player. Tough. Strange how when Heskey comes on, we concede 2 goals, coincidence?
  13. Its official, we are now in the relegation scrap! Shittin hell, those teams below don't stop winning!
  14. I think young is the word, as opposed to ordinary.
  15. Its an enforced line up to be fair, the injury crisis has now reached a worse point than probably the one under Houllier in 2010.
  16. Hopefully no booing, just pure support today, even if we are losing 4-0. This is a squad full of kids, won't help them if boos.
  17. Cuellar must be injured. Baptism of fire today for the young ones. Look forward to seeing them all in action. Fair play for Eck not starting Heskey, could have easily done so.
  18. Wow superb news for him. Great to see such a young talent get a place on the bench.
  19. Sad news, but inevitable, Petrov has confirmed his football career is now over according to a Bulgarian news website. His new challenge is his battle with cancer. Good luck Stan, everyones sending you positive vibes. Petrov Quits Football to Battle Cancer
  20. Stan will come through this illness and when he does, if he can't play football again, he should be given a key role at the club. Great character, well liked and a positive presence.
  21. Fantastic that he has been assigned a squad number, he has looked very good everytime I've seen him come on for the reserves or youth, very technical, low centre of gravity. Who is the youngest player to play for our first team and what age was he when he made debut?
  22. The game is going ahead, has been confirmed on SSN. Think Petrov would want us to play on.
  23. Stan will beat it! Get well soon, he is a born fighter, he won't let the disease win whatever the percentages!
  24. Hope theres no protests tomorrow now, some things are more important than football, now we have to get behind Stan and the team.
  25. Survival rate for sufferers of acute leukemia is said be 30-40%. Come on lad, fight through! A good captain, but a great man.
