  1. How is he getting on in Greece? Why did we not sell him? Are we paying part of his wages?
  2. weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey ha ha #older
  3. I forget Wlalcott is 23 he seems a lot longer as he has been around for years..!
  4. Not a bad shout. What happend two years ago. He was going to go to the World cup but he was not asked personally by Cappelo so he said no. I dont think even Super Scholes would not have improved England 2 years ago, let alone now.
  5. You do realise what you're saying there? That the best English midfielder of his, or many generations, some have even suggested ever, hadn't earned the right to play in his best position? Farming him out on the left was an absolute disgrace. Besides which, he never once said this was why he quit international football. He made himself available to McLaren at various points and even Capello if rumours are to be believed. Get him on the plane. I agree Scholes was absolute class and it was an utter disgrace he was not picked in CM - However he was competing with Gerrard, Lampard and Becham who many would say are just as good if not better. In centre mid it should of been Gerrard and Scholes - Totally agree. However if you genuinely want to play for England in you favored position You should show professionalism wait for your opportunity and take it, you shouldnt give up and retire. It has to be said that you can sympathies with Scholes he should of got his chance - he was class.
  6. Gerrard was forced to play on the left numerous times but you don't see him retiring do you. Difference is that Gerrard is actually committed to his country. Unlike Scholes. Scholes made his choice when he retired from international duty. That should be the end as far as I'm concerned. If he didn't want to play for England then he can get lost. Great point - Gerrard Won the European cup for Liverpool playing at right back - did he winge 3-0 down no he just go on with it, and then what happened....?!?!?! I thought it was great when King Carlos said he would play in goal for Villa if it meant him playing a game - great attitude. Its not often you hear England players say that.
  7. He had won 6 league titles for the best English team of his generation. He more than earned the right to play centre midfield I dont Doubt the following: - - He won the titles for United. - He was one of the est midfielders. - ect ect. I was talking about him doing his talking on the pitch for England and not United. When playing for England he was played on the left which was a disgrace I totally agree. However he should of fought for his position harder - There are always injuries in the England team, Scholes would have been in CM then score a few goals, that place would of been his. He was competing with Becham, Lampard and Gerrard. I dint think he should of retired because he was played on the left, I understand his frustration totally - but this is your country.
  8. Scholes has shown so much disrespect to the England team its unreal. I listened to Lewis Moody talking about International Rugby and playing for your country the other day - He was saying how much it means and how you automatically raise your game by 10 -15%. Imagine Scholes saying that....! He threw his toys out of his pram when he did not get picked on the left side of Midfield (He had a point). He should of earned his right to play in center mid by doing his talking on the pitch...! Not retiring at the age of 29 and saying if you don't play me where I want to be played I am not playing. Milner over Scholes all the way. HE has good skill, pace, can score goals plus he would probably run to the Euros just to get a game.
  9. http://www.metro.co.uk/sport/football/892160-jack-wilsheres-euro-2012-hopes-given-a-boost-by-arsenal-boss Looks like Witshire might make it. However there is still a long way to go. We are already without Rooney for two games. Darren Bent is probably going to be out. I think at least two other Senior players will get injured and miss it - they always do...!
  10. Its with the hope that he will be fit and will be on good form I assume!
  11. Does any one know the predicted growth levels for this 1/4...? Basically will we be heading back into recession.
  12. Crickey - I was looking at the results at last years Euro under 21s Tornamanet. We were absolutely shocking no seriously. There were only 8 teams in it.....! Yes only 8 teams...! There was no Germany, Holland, France, Portuagal, Italy, Croatia ect ect. We got one twopoints from a possible 9. We played the most ammount of long balls as the touranment and had one of the worst passing records. The team consited of Wellbeck, Sturidge, Rose, Jones, Smalling, Henderson. We were manager by Pearce. You could not make that stuff up. Basically anyone on this website could not have done much worse. How is that possible...?! Belarus Czech Republic Denmark (hosts) England Iceland Spain Switzerland Ukraine
  13. Crickey - really..! In some ways I hope not as I think that could really rock the boat. Has anyone heard if he has resigned..?!
  14. Oh good, Joey Barton's ignorance of what a hash-tag is for is coming into common usage. lol In an English bookmaker, yes. Because that's what English people are going to bet on. English teams being ranked as favourites for things is far more to do with people putting more money on that than their likelihood of winning. Although a lot of the pundits still think we can win it.
  15. I thought Nzogbia looked a lot sharper today. If theres one person who does not know how to get the best out of players Its McLesish - Why on Earth did he sub him, thats does nothing for his confidence at all.
  16. You Wouldnt plan for the future...! I am not really sure why you would not want to do that. If you take a look at Zee Germans thats exactly what they have done – After there failure at the Euros they took a drastic decision and gamble to invest heavily in grass roots football. If you look at how many top class UEFA coaches they have its something like 19 000 in the whole of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland its 3 000. In that retrospect I am not sure after shambolic constant failures why you would NOT want to plan for the future.I think Saying that Carrick has been the best midfliefder in the PL is a massive shout – are you saying that he has been as good as Silva #NOTACHANCE. Certainly a lot of the media think we are worthy of winning the Euros. Last Year Stuart Pearce led the U21 team to the Euros – They were ranked as one of the favourites AGAIN for the tournament. The team consisted of Phil Jones, Smalling, Sturidge, Wellbeck, Henderson, Josh McRechron ect ect. The stats say it all out of all of the teams England played the MOST amount of long balls and had one of the worst passing records. Needless to say they went out in the group stages...! Did you watch the Last World Cup, The Euros which we failed to qualify for and the World Cup before that Ect ect. The point is that the Senior players have proved time and time again that they are nowhere near good enough at the highest International Level. Terry was shocking defensively Barrys lack of mobility and pace was exposed to the maximum – Rooney failed to deliver on both temperament and scoring. It does help if you can trap a ball and pass it to someone more than 5 yards way without it going out for a throw in or to the opposition. This is why England need to have a gameplan. England set of youngsters are not the word class by any means, I have been the first to critize especially after there flop at the U21s last year. However I dont think there is a lot of difference in class between the German Youngsters and our Youngsters. Ferguson and Wenger certainly have been in no rush to buy them that’s for sure.
  17. Any one know where Clarke is today - How badly injured is he...?!
  18. I thought there is a good chance he could be fit in a month. http://www.metro.co.uk/sport/football/890321-jack-wilshere-penciled-in-for-arsenal-comeback-in-march-arsene-wenger
  19. England Team for Euros is everyone is fit. ---------------------Haart-------------------- --- Richards Jones Lescott Cole --- ---------Milner Gerrard Wilshire ----------- ------------------ (cap)---------------------------- Sturidge ------------------------------- Young -------------Wellbeck/Rooney---------------- 1.) Its Highly unlikely that that England will get to the Semi finals, Finals or even win the Euros this year. England will be lucky to qulaify from thir group. This is why England need to start planning ahead for the World cup with a young team. 2.) Who ever the manager is severly needs to play down the expectancy levels in the press. The pressure and expectancy that we put upon our self as a nation does not help matters. Time and time again. All I seem to hear is Harry Redknapp, Terry Venables and Ant & Dec saying that this is the year we are going to win it…! Along with the bookmakers we are always favourites or there about. We are our own worst enemies when it comes to putting pressure on selves and I am sure it does not help us. At every tournament we are genuinely expected to win it, which evidently means if we do not win it we are failures. There is so much room for failure and yet little room for success. We need to change this mentality. The manager needs to come out and say we are not really capable of winning. This takes a lot of the pressure of us. England play much better when the pressure is off. 3.) Scott Parker - He is a good club player. But he is not good enough at international level. He does pass the ball well, break up play and puts in the good tackle. However at international level you need a whole lot more. You need to be able to make the long defense splitting ball, score goals, dribble, Have technical ability, pace and a bit of skill. I think that Parker scores low in these areas. He is the wrong side of 30. Would still have him in squad - he would be a good player to bring on for sure.
  20. HMMMMMM - does any one else think Rooney will play for United at the weekend and perhaps Cleverly. Is it me or everytime England play a friendly United players always get a knock and therefore cant play...?! Any one got any stats to back this up?
  21. The prices the club paid for Cuellar was pricey - So why did the club pay that money. - If you remeber Villa had lost 2 of there best centre Backs in Mellberg and Laursen was forced into early retirement. Zak Knight was not good. enough. - This left Villa short on center backs. CC had just single handily practically carried Rangers to the UEFA cup final with some awesome performances. As a result there was lot of demand for him. - Rangers knew that Villa had the money to spend and Villa needed a center back and knew there was a buy out clause. - Carlos Cueallr is a no nonese defender that reads the game well. Villas defense would have been worse of without him. How much did City pay for Lescott and co..?
  22. Cahill cost less than Cuellar in both his transfers pretty sure you are mixing Cuellar up with Martin Laursen LOL - Gary Cahil had 5 months left before he could sign for free. When you think about it Chelski signed him for 7 million that was a lot. Cuellar was expensive but was a good signing. How much were Rio Ferdinand and David Luiz?
  23. Mantis - we agree on something - beauty...!
  24. Carlos Cuellar Bad singing...!? It depends on what your definition of a bad singing is! Yes he cost us quite a bit of money. But then look at other centre Backs - Rio Ferdianand and Gary Cahill. Carlos was instrumental in transforming our defence with him under ONeil we: - went from having one of the worst Defences to having one of the best. - Not scoring from set pieces to scoring from them - did not concede lots from set pieces Not saying this was all down to him but he was part of a solid defensive unit under MON. Real Madrid were sniffing around him at one point. He was one of our best players at the weekend. King Carlos was a good signing without doubt.
  25. Dunne Is a good player - AM cant get the best out of him.
