  1. And we will topple them again. And Lambert will become the Chairman of the Queens English Society??
  2. I can only see us managing 1 or 2 draws in the next 8 games, that's 6 points after 10 games and firmly rooted in the bottom 3 ready for our usual Lambo Christmas holidays where we give away points like Santa!
  3. I take it you didn't watch the game? No unfortunately/fortunately I was working so couldn't join the other 17,000 down there and only saw the 'highlights' but the stats do not suggest we hammered them?
  4. 4 points from 2 games that we gained 0 points from last season. Get a **** grip people. It will be where we are in 36 games time that worries me! We could have Messi and Ronaldo up front but if our midfield is not creating then we will not win enough games!
  5. Of course shots on target is relatively meaningless. The only important stat is goals scored. If you have more than the other team, you win. You don't get prizes for having 20 shots on target compared to their 1 but losing 1-0. However, it is a concern that we've had 30 attempts at goal in our first 3 games (not too bad on paper) but only had 2 on target (terrible on paper). And of course, also, the manager can't affect what a player does on the pitch. He can give instructions to do <x>, can setup tactics to be <y> but if a player misses a chance in front of goal or makes a poorly timed challenge, that isn't down to the manager for **** sake. It quid pro quo though, no shots on target = no goals = not winning! The problem is Lambert seems incapable of setting up a team to be able to press and attack and create! The lack of creation is the true concern! We even seem to go defensive against a league 1 side at home FFS! And when it's obviously not working you have to use your subs to change things around, so what does Lambert do? Makes one change to bring on his little favorite headless chicken!
  6. Well they have had 2 years of preparation watching this clueless buffoon and plenty of practice at rolling that same old turd in glitter once they realised polishing didn't work. Pathetic, apoligetic loser mindset some fans seem to have is very frustrating!
  7. We are failing to win matches because we have only managed a total of 2 shots on target in our first 3 games. You are looking at totally the wrong end to portion your blame. The shots on target stat is pretty meaningless really - I don't know why football fans obsess over it so much. We did have a lot of shots last night and there isn't a lot of difference between one that just sails over the bar and one that the keeper comfortably stops as in both cases a goal hasn't been scored. But where did I say that playing Given instead of Guzan was the sole reason why we didn't win? All I was doing was saying that that was my main gripe with Lambert last night. If the attacking players can't finish the chances on the night then there isn't much the manager can do about that but he definitely could've shored up the defence by playing Guzan instead. Shots on target is meaningless????? That has to be the most stupid thing I ever heard???? And if the manager cannot affect what the players are doing out on the pitch then whats the point of managers?? Though I do think that the players would probably perform better if that mumbling bufoon did actually let them pick their own side and tactics!
  8. I know isn't it pathetic? I mean it can happen to any team and you can forgive it once maybe twice. But four times since Lambert has been here? It's just really really pathetic and regardless of our resources should not have happened so many times. And yet again in the interview Lambert swerves the question of how the fans might feel by talking about our great start to the season. After 4 limp dick performances against shit opposition he is still incapable of an apology But hey 270 minutes of competitive football so far this season and 2 shots on target! At home to league 1 opposition and we play one up front? I just hope that the first job Fox has when he arrives next month is to sack this pathetic excuse for a manager! He's just a poor version of McLeish!
  9. They just paid £16m plus a fully expensed Nani on loan for 12months for a dodgy looking left back form Portuguise league with no Prem experience. So They can have Vlaar for £20m plus fully paid up Welbeck and Evans on loan for 12 months?
  10. I think you are underestimating Villa here. Benteke's s head was turned was it not, we refused to do a deal with Spurs unless they matched our fee. Downing's head was turned was it not, we only accepted 20million. Young in his last season, we managed to do a deal with United at 16million. Barry we managed to do a deal with City for 12million with one year remaining. Vlaar is an important player as well as the captain, if you think 5 days before the deadline, we'd do a deal for 10million, I really do doubt it. Yes but apart from Benteke all those players left and suitable replacements were never brought. As you point out if the player wants to go we seem to have very fight in us these days and if Ron wants to go can't see us stopping him especaially to a club where fees are not an issue? I'm not debating whether we can stop him however IMO we will not at this point in time sell him for 7 to 10m. It'll be a lot higher than that due to the factors of United being desperate, Vlaar being our captain, also having a good World Cup. Anyway not long to go and we will soon find out. I don't think it will be an issue anyway as Manure will want to sign a Brazilian or Argie for £40m and will end up with David Luiz MkII on £200k per week just to appease their fans.

  12. Villa will not sell for £10million at this point in time, as it makes no business sense to them to do so. Sell for £10m and give Lambo £3m for a replacement that's a nice little profit for Lerner. However I don't think the Manure board will think that Ron is a 'big' enough name for them and at £10m maybe too cheap?
  13. They are just feeling a bit silly at the moment as every decent palyer they have either has left or wants to leave, they have a strawberry blonde manager and have actually brought Shane Long for £12m? Most embarassed people lash out with stupid comments in a failed attempt to hide their own inadequacies?
  14. I think it's obvious that Lambert wants him, if we didn't get him I reckon it would be down to Lerner. Or maybe Holtby just fancies going back to his home league and is not interested in coming to another relegation favorite who is likely to quibble over the cost of his wages?
  15. Exactly I don't think they had any agreement to sign any of their loan players the following season but have managed to get two out of the three? and it's amazing that a club like Everton can afford Lukaku? Or maybe they haven't got idiots in charge of the club and team?
  16. Disagree completely because all we will end up with then is a loan similar to the Jenas one? I would rather have a player with potrential from a top team trying to gain experience rather than a shite player a mid table team can't actually sell for a fee because they are on silly wages!
  17. I was surprised when my Dad got accused of stealing from his job as a lollipop man, I don't know why, all the signs were there? I started a VD clinic from scratch! Ref Stewart Francis
  18. could be just gone on holidays Maybe? Maybe not?
  19. According to thetrees on twitter Lerner jet has popped over to Sardinia?
  20. I see Moses has joined Stoke on loan so there's one of our potential targets out of the frame?
  21. Apart from this bloke isn’t from football background... like PF. Is more financial... like PF Did some good deals at Arsenal... Like PF did at Villa. In black and white the only difference is he comes from a football club, whilst originally PF didn’t. Yet PF was the worse CEO and was absolute shite according to most Villa fans. Well we will see won't we if Fox comes in and improves on the deals that Faulkner got?
  22. I saw a fair bit of fist pumping aimed at the Villa fans. He looked pretty pleased to me. I was sat on the half way line in the posh bit, so maybe there was someone else taking the eye of the away end at the time or he was behind the hulking frame of Senderos? Maybe I am reading more into it but certainly at half time he never made eye contact with the fans as he left the pitch and whilst he was congratulating his teammates at full time it didn't appear his celebrations were as passionate as last season. I hope I'm wrong! Maybe he's been on VT and read this thread?
  23. I think this is a long overdue appointment to be honest as I don't think we have a long term plan which this new guy goes on about a lot for attracting long term sponsors. Welcome Mr Fox. Maybe this guy means that Lerner can slightly step back from the daily calls from Faulkner and Lambert who probably needed thier hands holding. I also think that Lerner has had a huge change of stategy over the past few weeks, I think he has realised that there is no prospective buyer out there willing to meet his asking price whilst the club is seemingly on it's downers. I think maybe ML/BOA have advised that he needs to raise the profile and raise the potential of the club before serious investors will be interested akin to applying a fresh coat of paint to a house you are trying to sell. Not many people want to pay top dollar for a tumble down 'project', people only pay top dollar for a finished slick product. This explains the additional funds, the appointment of Keane and now the appointment of a new CEO. These are not short term stategies but plans which could take years to put in place, maybe Lerner would want to keep a more successful club that was self funding?
  24. So are you saying those things do equal each other? Because they clearly don't. Also, saying the football decisions are his doesn't contradict anything he or Hutton have subsequently claimed. The bomb squad were clearly dropped for financial and not footballing reasons. As I thought there would be some who read the comments and defend and some one else will no doubt criticize? It's all a load of spin and confusion which is aimed to keep the truth about who to blame from the fans.
  25. Any links since the Sebastian Blanco one's in the Mirror yesterday?
