Mixed bag on that look at spuds last year, they looked dead and buried until bagpuss turned them around.

For me the main defensive problem is that there are 3 defenders out of the 4 attempting to do their jobs. Shorey is possibly the worst LB we have had for some time. Defensively he is shit and he was going forward losing the ball and constantly getting caught out of position. This meant Davies was moving out to the left to cover and this stretched our whole defense. MON already knew Shorey wasn't up to it and what has he done, diddly squat as per usual!!

The other worrying thing for me was the lack of tactical awareness. He just didn't seem to know what to do to change the game against Wigan. Perhaps he needs a new assistant to tell him what to do?

I worry that in MON's previous seasons we have started well then fallen away later in the season. A bad start now and I wonder if he is capable of motivating that side we saw on saturday?

I am still to be convinced by MON, he's still an enigma in my books and I wonder if he flatters to decieve. But I am glad you're happy FM!

Mostly agree with this as am starting to doubt MON's ability to push us to the next level. Progressing slowly is no longer an option in the current climate. Hopefully MON will make us all happy with a series of masterstroke signings but I am not holding my breath.

Plays a quite different role for England alongside either Lampard or Gerrard and compliments those players and generally plays well and is an obvious favorite for Capello. As we know here he plays alongside Petrov, NRC, Sidwell, Gardner or Salifou and has been our most consistant player over the past three years. We will miss him and I would rather Petrov left and we partnered Barry with a better quality player but that looks unlikely.
