  1. yeah, the group as a whole has problems i reckon, not much team spirit going around. fonz and alby are running themselves into the ground but there's more than a few which look like they couldn't give a monkeys I have no doubt McLeish has a lot to answer for being unable to organise or motivate the players, however Houllier identified wholesale changes were needed to the team last season and I think he is right. A lot of this bunch aren't concerned as long as they pick up their pay packet.
  2. Delph off for Johnson please, he really can't be any worse.
  3. You would think we would come out a bit more fired up... right?
  4. So Sky are saying. I don't believe its man-to-man, it looks like a zonal setup to me. See what AMc says after the game. I suppose it's irrelevant as overall the defending of set pieces game after game is shambolic.
  5. Think Delfouneso has been our best player thus far, but him and N'Zog linking up really well. Only plus side so far along with Albrighton's usual enthusiasm.
  6. Well game over already then. Delph is a complete train-wreck as usual. Delfouneso has done well everytime the ball has gone near him. Don't understand how N'Zog is on a booking but Adam isn't.
  7. Did he do this at Leicester or Celtic? Memory is a bit fuzzy on a club I don't care about but I think you could say he did that at Leicester. If memory serves they had highly paid older players when he left, and they dropped out of the prem like a stone and have taken a while to recover.
  8. If he was any more out of position for United's goal he'd have still been at White Hart Lane.
  9. I don't think anyone was really happy with GH results. I would say there were some, myself included, who were trying to buy into what he was trying to do. I did maintain that for the most part the football was good, and in fact better (if not as effective) as it was under O'Neil. I normally say a manager should be given half a season. I feel hasty voting NO, but I can't think of one single positive from McLeish's regime and the upcoming fixtures all look a bit "pointless" if you know what I mean.
  10. I voted yes, but I won't deny the recent managerial appointment process and the end result of McLeish has really tested my patience.
  11. Pretty good post that. What we have is a square peg in a round hole, a gifted footballer in a team that doesnt actually want to play football. Put passers around this guy and he will dictate a midfield, at the moment, he is holding the ball too long waiting for someone, anyone, to move for him. Funny Bannan and Petrov don't have that problem when they are on the ball. Our players must just go static; fixed in a state of awe at Delph's brilliance.
  12. I really hope he starts. I think we will be able to guess a lot of McLeish mindset going into the game based upon whether Bannan is on the team sheet.
  13. A few weeks ago people were adamant that he was a playmaker, perhaps seeing him repeatedly mislay passes have finally put that to death so he will now be an ACM. I think the lack of first touch(/inability to pass) will probably put that one to bed. By the way last year he was our future DCM, and needed a chance to prove himself there. I find it hilarious how it keeps changing. It seems far more likely he isn't any of those but a standard box-to-box midfielder. One who appears to lack the quality to make a mark at this level.
  14. As ever it's not going to be much of a competition is it. Looks like we are becoming a one man team. Herd and Warnock done well today I think. Bannan looked good since coming on.
  15. So Bannan man of the match then? Only McLeish knows why Delph started.
  16. He's not been booked. It was a foul, I suppose you could debate the point on whether it was worth a booking.
  17. Great clearance from N'Zogbia there, could have easily put that in the Swansea net by accident.
  18. Still doesn't excuse his lack of ability to pass, control, tackle and cross. In other words; he's shit. I think I'd be low on confidence if it was becoming fast apparent I was playing 2 leagues above my level too.
  19. Warnock's been our best player so far, never thought I'd say that this time last year!
  20. Sweeping statement: If Swansea don't win this they are getting relegated.
  21. Wheater got sent off for a challenge similar to the one Herd just recieved. Not that I thought Wheater deserved a sending off but all the pundits did, double standards.
  22. Delph is shit. Or perhaps the worlds greatest playmaker shouldn't be expected to tackle?
  23. I never thought I'd see a Villa message board being so completely dominated by a Spurs fan... I haven't seen much of Gardner but you'd think he would be nearer the first team by now given how impressive his record is at each level he has played at.
  24. He seems like more of "I'll play anywhere" type player than a fixed position. Played defensive midfield, right back and center back for us. I stand corrected. 5 defenders, 1 midfielder, 3 strikers, and 1 odd-job. That's so much better.
