  1. i heard he turned us down cause he wanted 50m to spend im prob the only fan of heskey's but even ill admit today wasnt his best game. delph had a lot of energy but wasnt great. gabby looked a threat every time he got the ball. bent couldnt be arsed. herd great game, very composed on the ball and would have been my MOTM had gabby not been on the pitch. n'zog was decent 2nd half. 2 new fullbacks in jan please RIP gary speed - not sure if its been mentioned but it was villa fans that turned silence into applause
  2. great night out...reflex turned into a villa bar...kc and the sunshine band came on and the whole place sang along 'darren darren bent'! similar for karma chameleon for gabby...then hi ho aston villa for good measure! locals sound...no problems at all in terms of women there are some right monsters there
  3. yeah they serve everything in plastic in those places...could be a wise idea that!
  4. im looking forward to tomorrow night so much more now i know they have a reflex
  5. better turn out than i was expecting. half day off work, hopefully get too drunk to care about the result
  6. none for a sing song that i know of and most in the centre dont approve of any footy shirts i generally go to pubs near liverpool st station...not really footy pubs though
  7. gabby made mincemeat of their RB today best performances in a villa shirt from both hutton and n'zog worth mentioning
  8. yup...staying at holiday inn swansea a good night out apparently
  9. so based on the lack of chat on here i gather not many are going?
  10. How many years until Bannan leaves for Man C, then? ive heard fergie wants him
  11. That's the most they give anyone mate it's only a small stadium we're not being short-changed. ah right thought it was a bigger ground than that and that we would get 2500 maybe
  12. i dont buy into this arselicking of milner. him leaving after a couple of good seasons was far worse than barry who gave us 10 years service (i dont like barry either BTW) he could have been a villa legend, with a team revolving around him and today he has actually had a rare start. celebrate or not i still think hes a word removed
  13. By shit I presume you mean not rich enough. Ultimately that's the only thing that defines an owners qualities nowadays. We will take another couple of hammerings, we're playing in a league where there are a small number of teams that are massively better equipped than the rest of us. Today feels like a 3rd round cup tie with us cast as minnows. I hate the Premier League. yep agree...the sooner the likes of city piss off and start a super league with all the tv rights and awful kick off times the better. we are miles behind these clubs as are most of the teams in this league. better teams than us will also receive hidings away to man city because of the wealth of talent they have purchased. but of course, its all randy's fault isnt it...
  14. think we can all agree this has been a vast improvement on this fixture last season cant we...all i ask is that we improve year on year and we have so far
  15. This. There are too many people at VP who justvhurl abuse at him when he has the ball just because they just don't want him to do well. this again...we always seem to have one player scapegoat every season...petrov, heskey, ireland etc where they can do no right in some people's eyes. people just dont want to say 'i was wrong about him'
  16. when he spooned that shot, his head dropped straight away. complete confidence player who is lacking confidence at the mo. one goal and we will see his best and end up being one of the first names on the teamsheet. he is improving and hopefully the warm reception he received today will help. man city is a massive game for him...chance to show what a mistake they made shipping him out
  17. if we were to lose gabby, one of our own, it would be worse than the losses of milner, barry and downing combined in terms of feeling around the club. with that in mind, hes priceless
  18. hope its not like last season where we recalled bannan from loan then never played him. if you recall someone from regular 1st team footy he needs a chance better than delfouneso IMO
  19. walkabout is the away 'pub' now isnt it?
  20. Always happens just as I decide to go... not a dig at you mate as i am sure there are others that were undecided...if people didnt wait til the last minute to decide perhaps we might actually start taking the full allocation for tickets. newcastle had twice as far to travel yet still took both tiers on a monday night
  21. the only positive of getting rid of mcleish would be to prove to the people that want him out that no manager could acheive success with the squad we have
  22. we put out basically our strongest side, but it was still one that was perfectly capable of losing to bolton on paper. you look at that starting line up and see a serious lack of quality. we are a far cry from the side that once was. bolton, stoke, sunderland etc have not stepped up to our level...we have just dropped down to theirs. there is one person to blame and this is neither houllier nor mcleish. lack of investment over the last couple of years is taking its toll
  23. not according to bbc injured
  24. well hes actually had very few this season and has looked bright whenever he has come on
