  1. No **** energy again.... give up a terrible goal... Bailey doesn't get in the way of it. Could not have been a worse start... get going fellas
  2. Continually not having a fully fit squad is getting super frustrating... get a couple guys back... lose a couple of guys... Huge game today... really hoping Buendia and Bailey come good and create magic with Ollie. Looking for JJ to continue to establish himself and I'm hoping Carney is the first sub off the bench for Marvelous.
  3. I'm assuming you have all watched this probably right around when the transfer took place, as did I, but I just watched it again. The guy has game, he just needs to be provided and/or find more space in order to utilize his skills. I'm still hopeful Deano finds the right formation/role for Buendia that allows him to be at his best. Trying to be optimistic.
  4. It's a shit three game run highlighted by the Wolves collapse. They finish off that game and we're probably all feeling quite different. My main concern right now, aside from Dean indicating it's not a "system issue", is perhaps the chemistry in and around the club. I mentioned in another post/thread that a month ago the team seemed thick as thieves... fast forward a month, with a run of 3 poor games, now a fully fit squad, including youngsters like JPB and Carney deserving time, and I think things are getting a little questionable. Obviously I have zero idea, but just going off the performances and the body language etc of the team... it doesn't appear to be good. Deano has tough decisions to make fielding the squad and keeping everybody happy going forward. Really really interested to see how they come out a week from tomorrow. I think that's a must win. At the very least you need a draw. Here's hoping its a feel good three points.
  5. With that being said its absolutely a position than can be improved and needs to be improved if top 6 is the goal. That can't be argued if you ask me. No one was good today, but even if you consider the penalty questionable... it was still a terrible decision by Targett. Lacazette had his back turned so it wasn't like he HAD to make that move to prevent a goal. Just an awful decision at the end of the first 45. Without that mistake... and if Watkins puts home the tap in off Cash's throw which he should have, as terrible as they played its a 2-2 game. Just frustrating stuff overall... but I absolutely think we need an upgrade. Would love to be proven wrong starting next Sunday.
  6. After a pretty solid performance last week... a tough one today for Emi, but it's truly hard to assess the individual when legit everyone was terrible and there was zero cohesion. Really hope the boys figure it out in training this week. I wouldn't be surprised if Ramsey starts over him next weekend.
  7. Watkins HAS to put that home... Glad we weren't blanked... great to see Ramsey put one home. Great to see Bailey fit and contributing and certainly a better second half thus far. Hopefully some VP next weekend is what we need to get going. Oh man... please let Bailey be alright.
  8. I legit was wondering if something happened in the locker room... a few weeks back seemed like they were thick as thieves... now a lot of pointing/arguing and absolutely zero cohesion. It's just weird. I know Everton was banged up when we played them.... but just night and day from a month ago.
  9. That effort in the first half... after the last 15 vs Wolves... is beyond alarming. I'm borderline speechless. We better see some changes and a different Villa to start the 2nd.
  10. They look absolutely exhausted and with zero cohesion... what is going on??
  11. Gotta be the worst 20 minutes of the year so far no? No possession, giving Arsenal ample space to handle the ball and do whatever they want.
  12. LETS GO BABY!!!! Good to hear the NBCSN crew with positive things to say about Villa.
  13. Lukaku banged up yesterday and now out for a few weeks... DCL been out for a while and just had a set back trying to come back... Richarlison was out for a while... Pulisic been out for a while... I think almost all teams have been affected this year in some way shape or form with regards to injuries, so not sure it's necessarily on the strength and conditioning folks. As another poster mentioned though, you should always been evaluating your staff and looking for areas to improve. For me, what I'll be watching going forward is what happens with Bailey and Bert for instance, for the rest of the year. Both been banged up twice now so far this year.... did we do what was necessary to get them ready to be healthy for the rest of the year, or will this become a recurring situation. If the latter happens, then it might be fair to wonder if adjustments are needed to both prevent injuries in the first place and properly rehab them when they do happen.
  14. I'm a massive ASM fan. Definitely my favorite non-AVFC footballer. I've dreamed about seeing both him and Bailey on the pitch with Villa only about 1000 times in the past 2 months. Agreed though, i think those two will stick and the rest most likely won't. I'm interested to see what they do in January. As far as we go, sort of hoping the sell El Ghazi talk is accurate as he isn't playing currently anyways, we can sell him for a profit and it opens up more opportunity for JPB who I think is a stud and ready for some first team action. Hoping we bring in a LB/LWB and maybe a CDM.
  15. Thank you my friend! Yea it's not like he's been a perpetual concern with regards to fitness... I think they are being extra cautious currently to make sure they get him right. That Everton game... those 20 minutes were absolutely electric and I just can't wait for more of that. I wish I was at VP when he scored... the place ERUPTED it seemed. That's that legendary-ness I need.
  16. Haha.... appreciate the information. Another poster PM'd me and mentioned the sky is falling mentality when there are losses etc, and as I told him, I'm a diehard Boston sports fan (mainly Bruins) and trust me, we are exactly the same, so I'm well prepared. Villa twitter is an absolute gong show pretty much always I've noticed.... I fully enjoy it. I try to stay levelheaded but I'm sure as we go on I'll have my negative moments (I think I just sat in silence for a good 30 minutes Saturday)... especially since I think we are headed for such big things with this ownership, our current squad and the young studs looking to break into the first team.
  17. "Leon Bailey's first goal with Aston Villa is an absolute thunderbolt"

  18. I think LB/LWB personally is the biggest need even if we revert back to 4 at the back but especially if we stick with 5. Targett is a decent player but doesn't have near enough quality in my opinion especially in the final third. On the flip side Cash has looked great (but needs to not be SO shot happy and look to distribute in the box a bit more). Don't know much about Hickey but I'm pleased they are considering an upgrade at that spot.
  19. Welcome my friend, almost everyone here is ok I think every Villa fan has everything crossed for Bailey's fitness Did you and TRO go to the same school? Haha, thank you for the welcome. I see one person laughed to your response... Im not sure if that's for the "everythng crossed for Bailey's fitness" or for the questions about whether or not TRO (zero idea who this is haha) went to the same school. Enlighten me, who is TRO?
  20. Hey Villans! New poster here... and as my display name indicates.... huge fan of this man right here and cannot wait until he is fit. Agreed that we are more than a one man squad now, but he's an extraordinarily important piece of the puzzle that we need fit and on the pitch. His performance against Everton was insane.... very much hoping my display name ages well and in 20 years we talk about the legend of Leon Bailey! Excited to chat with you all about AVFC... being an American I don't get to interact with many fellow fans so very excited to be a part of the crew here.
  21. What's up all? Villa fan from CT, USA. Have always enjoyed soccer but mainly just paid attention to international/world cup soccer. During Covid I fell in love with the premier league and Villa and I will forever be a diehard Villa fan going forward. In 2003 I got into hockey (boston sports fan) and have been a wild die hard Bruins fan from that day on, and I know the exact same thing is going to take place with Villa. I don't miss a match, although I wish I missed the last 15 minutes of yesterdays! Really excited for the future of Villa with the young studs up and coming such as Carney, JPB (my favorite), the Ramsey boys ete, Kesler etc... and as you might imagine considering my display name... can't wait for a healthy Leon to blast more thunderbolts into the net at VP! #UTV!
