Yeah he’s been around for some time I had to double check his age at first! But yeah he used to play RB when he was at Freiburg and Dortmund. I think since he moved to Gladbach he moved more central. Chris Richards is an interesting shout, I doubt Bayern will end up keeping him so I’d have a look at him definitely.

I think his contract runs out this summer as well so it'd be a free transfer, I'd be alright with that. He is a decent ball playing CB, I think Bayern want/wanted him though.

I get the concern, it’s happened before where top players join a team and can’t be bothered to put the effort in if things don’t go well. However If you are going after top players they normally wouldn’t check out. They would have elite mentalities which is what Gerrard wants out of the players. Some of the players we have now don’t have that mentality, in fact some of them have the opposite. They also don’t necessarily need to be at the end of their careers/primes to be top player.

So I’ve slept on it and I’ve calmed down a bit after yesterday. After watching the City vs Liverpool, I can say the whole prem are miles away from these two! I can see what Gerrard wants to do with the team. I can see we don’t have the players for that style of play yet. I do also think that he should adapt to a style that suits the majority, especially if you will get rid of some of these lot. One of the problems right now is that the players have checked out for the rest of the season. Now I think it’s a mixture of them not getting used to the system/don’t feel comfortable in it. Or they know they will be getting sold so can’t be bothered to put in the effort. I do think it’s more of the latter. In my opinion. I’m not Gerrard out at all right now, I think he should be given the chance to get the players he wants in. It’s only fair to him, like a few have said the problems we have now are the same problems Smith had at the start of this season and at times during his Premier League tenure.

I’m so so so disappointed in Konsa. I’m also annoyed at Gerrard for bringing him back into the team over Chambers. What a shambles, I’ve said it for weeks but these players are on holiday already. They know they couldn’t put together a run to sneak into Europe a few weeks ago. Most of the players have been casual for weeks, we need a new spine badly. We should play the young guys for the next few weeks at least they might give a toss.

That felt like a game of Fifa when you are completely dominating but can’t score at all.

Yeah they are pretty much the same thing I believe. Also any suggestions IF we were to replace Lange? Luis Campos? Campos at Monaco signed Fabinho, Martial, Bernardo Silva, Thomas Lemar and unfortunately the predator that now plays for Man City. At Lille he signed Leao, Pepe, Gabriel and Osimhen. That's a decent lot of players he's picked up and also that were sold for a good profit. I don't want us becoming a selling club (even though majority of the teams in the prem are), however I would like us to maximise our sales.

Yeah tbh for the last couple transfer windows I've seen that they do hint towards things happening, not in a speculative way either almost as a definitive. They have had stuff right sometimes I guess, but just like most 'ITK' they guess 100 different things and get 20 right then delete the remaining 80 tweets. From my end, I do trust the board however I have a bit of PTSD from the Lerner era. Nothing from NSWE has suggested that things will be the same, because we are well run right now. I hope that continues, I would hope that if we are replacing Lange then we go after a DOF similar to Dan Ashworth.

That is my fear, I would really hate for us to change everything that can hamstring us in the future. We have come so far for us to p*ss it away for short term gain. I'm not saying Lange is a saint, we do need to review his position in my opinion. However I would want to make sure if we are replacing him, it would be for a quality DOF that can compliment our set up. Our owners are savvy which helps so if this rumour is true and the worst happens, hopefully they can intervene.

However they did get the Coutinho news spot on and the Gerrard announcement. I’m a bit worried if they give Gerrard free reign on what transfers we bring in and who we sell. I know questions need to be asked of Lange, but I would not be surprised if Purslow had his say in our dealings. If this is true it does feel like Lange is the fall guy.

Long time lurker but new to the site. I hope you guys are well, despite that horrid half. We seem to be having the same issues mentally. We have been so poor this half and dare I say apart from the scoreline this is the worst I’ve seen us play since Arsenal this season. Luiz seems checked out for me he’s been so poor at protecting the back line and at times still thinks he has loads of time on the ball. Mcginn has been poor also he’s been hitting aimless passes that set up their attack. He looks pissed as well and due to his card I’d look at swapping him for Sanson, who would be better suited for this fixture anyway. Watkins well he’s been poor for a while now. I think Gerrard has to make tweaks to this formation, we need more out of our midfield and this formation doesn’t really help. Here’s to a better half of football and hopefully we can pull a result.
