  1. Watkins was kind of static almost as if he was waiting for Jack to score. He backed off a little to give Jack room and didn't seem to be shouting for the ball. To be fair to Jack had every right to have a crack at goal there although he could have shot when he was nearer the pen spot.
  2. Yes I think our midfield seemed a bit jaded tonight. Not want you want against a rampaging Leeds. Gave the ball away far too much. Too disjointed!

Put in a great shift tonight and didn't do much wrong. Easily our MOTM.
  4. He'll be dissapointed but he'll learn. Tough game and he seemed a little hesitant in possession. Feeding off scraps but also could haven worked harder off the ball.
  5. Many players were below par tonight and after the first goal we just crumbled. No shape or plan. Leeds were relentless which wasn't really a huge surprise. I don't think it's worth dwelling on this one too much as we'll have better days.
  6. If we want a decent top half finish games like Leeds/Southampton we should be winning. Of course they could be banana skins but we need to maximise points while the going is good and we don't have any injury concerns, which is bound to happen soon given our bad luck with them! I'm very confident about beating Leeds although it does have the potential to be a bit wild and unpredictable. We have in form players and momentum on our side and a nice little bonus of going top for a while. Leeds have to be respected obviously as they will be desperate for a win but I think we can do the business tonight
  7. City can't have him back...he has to stay in the Villa bubble now and forever. Sorry new covid rules and all...
  8. Seems much more focussed and less likely to switch off. Credit for upping his game as I was seriously concerned! Perhaps the addition of Ross has taken some pressure off defensively.
  9. To be fair to Durham (can't believe I'm saying that) hes now a really big Grealish fan and although those two soundbites taken in isolation sound ridiculous hes simply saying Jack COULD possibly up his game to elite levels by shooting more or passing quicker. What he said is definitely a touch click baity but it's not entirely nonsense. We all know how much work Jack does on the ball and for me it's simply a case of fine tuning his game now that he has better players around him. That and letting shots off more often perhaps.
  10. Also at 15 quid a pop they are kind of encouraging people to get your friends and family around to watch - probably not ideal in these uncertain times!
  11. If a fiver I would probably buy most of them. A tenner maybe the odd one. At fifteen quid there is no chance especially if they're not bothering with any post game highlights or analysis. That's taking the piss.
  12. Had high hopes for his outside of the box shooting ability but hasn't had much luck with that. Not that it matters as we now have Barkley but would be great if he could bang a few in this season.
  13. KDB is a better goal scorer no doubt but there are things Jack does that KDB does not or cannot do eg. close control, getting out of a tight spot etc. KDB is obviously more direct/shoot on sight type or guy and if Jack could bring an element of this into his play would be even better.
  14. There arent many players like him in the world. Very rare and possibly unique combination of attributes. If he's not considered world class now he may well be when this season is done. And If Southgate pulls that lump of coal from his ass and plays him in the Euros even more so.
  15. Ross has really filled a gaping void that we had last season. When all else fails somone who will just run at the opposition and lash the ball in!
  16. What an absolute leader this man is! Must instill so much confidence in the back line.
  17. Not that you can't criticise Jack of course but I certainly think it's nitpicking to say he sometimes holds on to the ball too long. Thats his game, it's what he does and I would happily have that as a trade off for all the other brilliance. This famous quote comes to mind... "I have a very particular set of skills that make me a nightmare for people like you"
  18. Nice Southgate must think himself a tactical god. He's so blinded by it he's forgetting actual football needs to be played. He's actually wound me up far more than I thought which is disappointing Sunday can't come soon enough to put this whole tragic affair behind us!
  19. Wow. Did Southgate intend those comments about Jack to come accross the way they did? He's insinuating Grealish lacks pace and athleticism? What a thing to say out loud! SMH
  20. Mount had a decent enough game. He's not the problem it's Mr Gary "Legend in my own Underpants" Southgate. The bloke is an absolute mystery and Dan Brown wouldn't even be able to decode the puzzles going on inside that thick skull of his. I hope the media give him a hard time.
  21. Southgate has shown his true colours now. Says he sees Jack as a left sided player then sticks DCL out there and keeps Kane on. Then Henderson? Starting to think he would rather lose than risk Jack helping the team equalise . He's an absolute weapon.
  22. Yes probably. Think Jack would be the ideal option in the second half as now we're gonna need some guile if we're to get back in the game. Time to roll the dice a little.
  23. This is what I dont get because to my mind he's the most normal looking footballer! No tattoos, normal hair, bit of stubble. What stands out for people? Could be his graceful Rolls Royce style of play which is somewhat effortless. People see that and assume lazy luxury player I suppose. But how can you be so thick to assume without actual study?!
  24. You'll have to take that narrative from his cold dead hands
