  1. Basically we need to take Fernandes out early, proper old school hatchet job on him.
  2. Wow, West Ham have blown their big opportunity to take the pressure off and get some daylight between themselves and the relegation fight. They’re right back in it and now have an arse squeaking game at Norwich followed by a bigger 6 pointer with Watford! Happy days. And following that they’re away at UTD.......before us on final day. All of a sudden they’ve got huge pressure back on themselves with the games they have left. Three 6 pointers in their final 4 games. That’s pressure!
  3. We now need 3 wins from our final 5 fixtures, 2 wins and 2 draws might be enough. And that’s just to give ourselves a chance. If we fail to beat Palace then I think that’s the time I admit we’re relegated.
  4. Merseyside Derby. Man City’s 9th League defeat this season, and from a wonder goal. By all means, keep going on
  5. Bruce is playing for his continued employment with new owners on the horizon. Please do try and keep up.
  6. Do you understand English football, even remotely? I don’t think you do. This was a London Derby, a game against one of the worlds richest and most prominent clubs, an opportunity to knock a cocky neighbour off of their perch. Not too dissimilar to when Villa face the knuckle draggers from the arse end of the City. They gave it everything.....and lost. We’ll see how much desire they have on Sunday, whether they can reach the same levels again. I personally doubt it.
  7. I noticed that too, he’s got away with a lot. You’d expect to see the Norwich players and staff in the ear of the referee reminding him of every foul. Watfords entire game plan seems to be to bulldoze Norwich with brute force.
  8. Watford actually have very little except physicality in the Norwich box, where it seems like it’s men against boys. I can’t see Watford not scoring again from a ball into the box, but let’s see. There could easily be another Norwich breakaway opportunities the longer the scores remain level. Faint hope. Fingers crossed
  9. Seriously, how many here honestly think we are going into the UTD game with a decent chance of gaining points? Football can be a funny old game, but imo you have to play the percentages at times. This is one of those times.
  10. I’ll be honest, I’d be very tempted to keep our more important players out of the Man Utd game. I don’t see us getting anything from it and so I’d be targeting the Crystal Palace fixture to have a fully fit and fresh starting 11, it’s a fixture we can win and we then have a further 4 days until the Everton fixture, another fixture we can target for a win. Between the UTD game and Palace we only have Friday & Saturday, and we already have Grealish & Mings nursing knocks. It’s all about those final four fixtures for me, they are the games we can realistically target to gain the required points. Little point trying to go toe to toe with a flying Man Utd and risking players for the following two weeks. Get them rested, get them fully prepared for the Palace game. Win the Palace game.
  11. It’s either Watford or ourselves to join Bournemouth & Norwich for relegation. We’ve improved considerably in stopping the amount of goals and chances we were conceding pre-lockdown, our problem is up front scoring goals. Really not much between ourselves and Watford now, I think they look more capable of putting the ball in the net because they have Deeney & Sarr. Their big opportunity comes in the next 3 fixtures, and the next fixture in particular. I’m 99% sure they’ll beat Norwich, it’d be a big surprise if they get anything less than 3pts. That’d see them go 4pts clear of us, 5pts when you consider goal difference. We’d really have to get something from the UTD game on Thursday if Watford win the Norwich game. We do have games coming up where the opposition will have little to play for other than pride or a place or two, and that’s important to remember. If we can maintain the type of performance we saw at Liverpool then we can win games in our final 4 fixtures. I thought McGinn looked more like his old self at Liverpool, and Luiz continues to be a revelation since the restart. If we could just get a forward into some sort of respectable form we could be so much more confident. As it stands we’ve seen no goal scoring form from Davis, Samatta, ElGhazi, Trezeguet, Grealish. One of those HAS to step up in the next 5 fixtures.......please!
  12. Another game where we should have gotten something but ended up with zero. We’re much better defensively in midfield, it’s undeniable that we’ve reduced the amount of chances conceded enormously. It’s just we simply don’t have anyone to put the ball in the net for us. I’d have taken a 2-0 before the game, so to be disappointed now is a positive. If we can maintain the energy and discipline then we have a chance
  13. Not surprised to see you posting utter drivel.
  14. Oh dear lord, Trezeguet and ElGhazi in a 4-3-3 or 4-5-1
  15. Lost 3pts at Arsenal due to officiating. A poster mentions this one or two above
  16. I think we’ll need to win 2 of our last 4, with a draw or two from the others. A big ask.
  17. The likelihood is that we’ll essentially be 5pts behind by next weekend, goal difference will be worth a point to Watford. However, it’s not a forgone conclusion that Watford will beat Norwich. And not a foregone conclusion that we’re doomed if that scenario comes to fruition by next weekend.
  18. Does idiocy come naturally to you, or is something you put a lot of effort into?
  19. Point taken. Almiron & Saint Maximin are better than ElGhazi and Trezeguet. And Jota. Andy Carroll (yes, Andy Carroll) is better than Samatta. Heck, Dwight Gayle is better than Samatta or Davis. Hayden is better than Nakamba. I think most would say Yedlin is a better RB than either Guilbert or Elmohamady. Either of Matt Ritchie or Shelvey are better than Hourihane.
  20. Dubravka is better than Nyland or Reina, Lascelles is better than Hause or Konsa, Danny Rose is better than Targett or Taylor, Saint Maximin is better than ElGhazi or Trezeguet, Almiron is better than Samatta or Davis. Those are just off the top of my head. From the Villa squad I’d imagine only Grealish, Mings, and McGinn would improve the Newcastle starting 11. At least 5 of the Newcastle team could improve the Villa starting 11.
  21. What a waste of time, putting up a thread about a position that isn’t even available.
  22. A season changing win for West Ham. They should be able to take the confidence from that and, under less pressure now, get another win or two from their next four favourable fixtures. We’ve got to find new levels over the next two games, right now I’d be happy if our GD didn’t get any worse than a further -4. We’ve got to get to the Palace game with hope and confidence not seriously dented. Let’s hope that with the 7-8 days between the Wolves and Liverpool games we have found bucket full of energy, and one or two of the players can find that little bit extra to put in a performance reminiscent of Antonio for West Ham last night. We need a monster performance from someone.
  23. Bournemouth will pick up 3pts today, Potato Head will throw this game for sure. That’s the type of man he is.
  24. Yep, I know that! It’s just unfortunate that it took until June to see him start performing. And even his signing is with the caveat that Man City can come grab him if they choose to. But We’ll give them Douglas Luiz, so that’s one player in two years
