yes to the highlighted. I dont get all the drama over the change in transfer policy. We have a top youth setup now, some good youngish and developing players, but if the club want to have any shot of a top 6 or top 8 finish any time soon, we probably need to mix some more short term signings in, like Digne/Coutinho....and maybe Suarez etc. To me it makes sense, especially with Gerrard, he wants to show in the next 2 or 3 years that he has kicked Villa on and he is ready to "take his next step on the managerial ladder", however talented our youngsters are, we wont challenge for top 6 or 8 during Gerrards tenure by developing young players only. I quite like it tbh, we are going for it now and in the next couple of years, then "hopefully", if we can manage it, we can then bring the younger players through in a more successful and high profile team. to be brutally honest, i think the way Gerrard is trying to do it, is the best balanced approach overall, buy short term experience to get where we need to go, then once we have got there, we can bring the youth through to develop and integrate with the high calibre older players, or if the young players are that good, they can be integrated over the next 12+ months (like JJ, Hayden etc). Makes sense to me tbh.

Coutinho was probably the best ever signing we have made (in terms of profile and wtf appeal) Suarez would be the next level most wtf wacky off the wall left field head wobbling mouth dribbling are we in the twilight zone signing we would probably have ever made. What a window lol.

ye there was one a few years ago that clearly worked at the club, or at least was linked to it in some way when transfers happened, he called loads of stuff, including when players had medicals, which made me think he was something to do with that (or at least met the players before their medicals). Cant remember the facts, so i could be wrong, but sure i heard a rumour somewhere that Villa set out to hunt for the leak, and he abruptly stopped, not sure if that was because he just went quiet so as to not get caught, got caught and was reprimanded, or got caught and sacked etc etc..... Im 99% sure this person was a genuine ITK tho, but many have tried to claim to be this person with new accounts, but with zero of the credibility or consistency of getting it right, so the original whisper ITK account, clearly isnt operating any more, for whatever reason.

Archer really needs a loan out imo to as high a level as possible, he's way too good for u23s and not quite in a position to reasonably challenge for a first team starting slot, would be bad for him to just sit on the bench for the next 6 months. Would be interested to see how he does in the Champ or League 1 with his recent scoring streak etc.

I would love to know if this was just "to add a third senior keeper", or whether it was actually more "we dont really trust Steer as backup".............maybe its both.
