I really hope SG starts Christene over Young. I’ve nothing against Young but we are at the tail end of a season and we aren’t really playing for anything. What’s more embarrassing is Sky we’re still seeing 5 replays are still saying it’s a pen. If he wasn’t English they would be calling him the cheat he is.

How has the ref and VAR giiven that pen to Saka! It’s so clear he’s pulling the defender. Saka is one of the worst cheats around at the moment.

Football is as much business success as football success nowadays. Look at United, terrible on the pitch for years yet are able to attract and afford top talent worldwide. Ten Haag will have been offered a wagon of cash to get them going again and despite not making the CL again they can afford it because of the business they do. I think this is all very positive, the north stand has needed attention for years and if all three phases can be done in 2 years that seems reasonable.

Yeah I agree. Gomez is a top centre half (terrible injury record recently) and Bissouma would walk into almost a very club pushing for the CL.

Weirdly I think the SG’s hardest decisions will be around the players already in the building. Take right back for example. Cash is clearly first choice there. But with KKH and Guilbert coming back from strong loans who stays and the who goes? Similar issue at LB with Targett returning and a decent understudy in Christene coming through. There is no point in having fantastic youth if you don’t give them chances. Look at this season, JJ’s had on some faith from the the last two management teams! We could see breakthrough seasons next year from Tim, Chuk, Archer, etc but they need time on the pitch. I really hope we don’t go and bring in 5+ new signings to move us forward. 2-3 really good signing will change this group (Martinez type signings)

How is McNeill not booked for that dive? The sooner clear dives like that become a red card the better.

I’m not going to write him off just yet but Konsa has really let himself down in the last few weeks/ month. I think one of your two centre backs needs to be a beast in the air and right now Mings and Konsa are too timid. Kane destroyed Konsa yesterday and he didn’t even have that streak to go through him, make him think about the next one. Look at him towards Romero, every time a Villa player played the ball off he left something on them. For this reason I’d take Gomez in a heartbeat.

I think it’s to counter the “sack Gerard, why give him more money to spend in the summer”. If we had better strikers yesterday we’d have won the game, we made the chances just didn’t put them away!

In a way this game was so similar to the Wolves game last week in reverse. We were second best for the first half against Wolves last week. Only difference is they took a few of their chances. Both second halves were pretty even, main difference was Spurs were so clinical. Spurs scored 4 goals from 5 shots on target yesterday.

Off topic but the Sky bias is really terrible. The crying that went on when Young chopped down Kane was relentless. It was shown and shown and shown again. Then a few mins later Kane takes out Bailey ( I think) and there was no outcry. No replays, hardly a mention of the yellow card but for Kane has “blotted his copybook”. No wonder Kane gets away with elbows and nasty tackles week in week out. He’s untouchable!

This ref has been amazing. Since half time any touch on a Spurs player had been a free kick! He clearly didn’t like the way the first half had went!
