    What I love most is that the squad is filled with really likeable people. Everyone gives a really good account of themselves in interviews and everything. Imagine supporting Man Utd with the likes of Lingard and Pogba

    Spot on. I'll be right behind the team whatever the results. As long as they give their all for the club, that is good enough for me, and as you say the rest should take care of itself. We as fans need to give our all week in week out too!

    I've being saying all along that survival is the goal, and that is obv still the case first and foremost, but I do now think that we will be comfortably above all that. I know its a big step up and there are a ton of players to gel but I just think our squad is too good, our feel good factor is too good, our plan throughout the club is too cohesive and Smith, O'Kelly and Terry are too good at coaching that there just has to be a number of clubs worse than us... doesn't there?!

    Can't fathom why people still think Phillips is on the cards? Love your optimism, but can't see it at all, and I personally wouldn't want him at this point with who we have brought in. It would be near impossible to keep everyone happy.

    Agreed. Granted he hasn't had a huge amount to do defensively but he looks classy. Hasn't put a foot wrong at all.

    Yeah, hopefully just a pre-season thing. He has also started 2 of the games quite poorly. But agree with all the positives. Great crosser of the ball as well.

    Id be fairly surprised to see another DM come in on top of Luiz (who im confident will be announced soon). I can see one of the new CB's being expected to fill in for that position if Luiz ever got injured. Would be great to get a specific backup/rotation but there is just so much to do this window and you can't have it all. Priorities are GK and ST. Anything after that is bonus and arguably overkill this window.

    My current reigned in optimism puts us above Brighton and Newcastle too. I think it will be a very interesting season in general. Liverpool, City and Spurs will continue doing their thing, but Arsenal, Chelsea and Utd could all be in danger of dropping out of the top 6. Leicester will be strong.

    Personality is definitely something that often gets overlooked. Played a massive part for us last year and im very happy we are taking 'character' as an essential part of recruitment.

    Do any of us actually know Chester's condition barring a few comments made months ago? We are all just assuming he is crocked but he could be fit as a fiddle for all we know.

    Its not negativity, its realism mate. Survival is the goal for the bottom 6-8 teams of the prem, and in our first season back we can't be expected to be above that. It is dangerous for us to start expecting more than that at this stage.

    You are implying they would play regularly INSIDE the bottom 6 teams, which was exactly the point... that there isn't much difference between the top of the championship and the bottom of the prem.

    In the cases of Tuanzebe and Tammy, he clearly didn't say Man Utd and Chelsea aren't a big step up. He was talking about the bottom 6. Where Mings is concerned, he had his injury problems.
