  1. I was disappointed when he was here at a 1,000 pages, gutted he's still here at 2,000. Don't get me wrong, nobody likes a win any way we get it more than I do. Two years on I just don't have the confidence that his team and his coaching methods and style of play will get us promoted. Too often we rely on individuals to make something happen, and I'm not convinced you can rely on that for a whole season.
  2. With the Hutton signing I forsee a worrying trend. Are we heading down the same shit less money route?
  3. What exactly has Steve Bruce won since he's been with us with the most expensive squad ever assembled in the Championship?
  4. We loaned him out twice since he's been with us. Average at best.
  5. Have we learned nothing over the past few weeks? Short term'ism will get you nowhere. We should be saving money and developing our youngsters, not paying over aged journeyman players. Of course he can do a job for us but we want more than that. We need to rebuild our cub with youth and pace.
  6. I'm afraid you're completely misguided in believing that the drills and setup of the team are decided for him. Nothing could be further from the truth. The playing side, style, etc. is totally in Dean smith's control. Where the Brentford way comes in to play is on the selection and sale of players. They have algorithms, models, etc that advise them when to select or sell players, their value, etc.
  7. Sung to Love Don't Live Here Anymore by Jimmy Nail (Yes, Oz) You have failed me We don't want you anymore Need a vacancy We don't want you anymore Just felt a need to lighten the mood ............ It's so depressing
  8. The thought of us keeping Bruce or Hutton is again hoping for a short term fix. Keeping both is suicidal.
  9. And the saying goes, you can't teach an old dog new tricks. I've seen nothing to suggest that keeping Bruce, with less money and talent, will provide us with either better football, promotion, or both.
  10. We all know the football was unpleasant to watch, nobody enjoys watching hoofball. However, the Bruce lovers continually remind us of the number of goals we scored last season. What they forget is the scary statistic that 31 times in 49 games we only scored 1 or 0 with he most expensive squad the championship has ever seen. That's what bit us in the ass.
  11. I'm hearing that one of the reason we should keep Bruce around is his contacts. I've never heard anything so ridiculous. It's not as if he has a secret black book. This is the 21st century. Videos and background information is available online to every manager, including their salary, injury details, strengths, weaknesses, etc. There's no secret sauce here, it's just common sense. The reason we got Terry was because we promised we would invest to get promotion. We got Snodgrass because we were the only team prepared to cover his wages. Tell me where Bruce's super secret contacts have helped elsewhere?
  12. If all goes well, the compo for Bruce will more than cover the 2-years we would need to buy out Dean Smiths contract. Win - Win
  13. I don't believe you are comparing Jokanovic and Warnock with Bruce. They had footballing philosophies and plans on how they wanted to play, albeit very different ones. Other than buy or loan the most expensive defensive players he could and try and sneak a goal, please explain how you believe his strategy is giving you the confidence that it will all come good next season?
  14. Please don't tell me that after the events of this week, the bright light on the horizon is another season of shite Bruce football? How can anyone be positive knowing that Bruce has less money, less of 'His' type of players, less experienced players. There will be more excuses, more complaining about the fans, and will likely have to trim his coaching staff to cut costs. This could be the most depressing season in years. We should start taking bets on the possession percentage stats, or the number of shots on target, for each game. We will have to watch Brentford show us how to play football, yet again, and try and nick a 0-0 draw at home. Depressing.
  15. I really struggle to see how performances and results are going to improve under Bruce next season. He is a one trick pony that has continually fell short and delivered inconsistent results. Next season he will have less talented players and less money to waste away. IMO Dean Smith as Brentford plays entertaining attacking, sustainable football with average players. Plus, he played Steve Bruce off the park in the three times he has managed against him. Make the right decision soon. Please.
  16. I really hope you are ITK. This would be right direction for the club.
  17. On the Express website it states: According to Sky Sport Italia reporter Mario Giunta, Leeds have already met Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce, ex-Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri and Matias Almeyda, who has left Chivas Guadalajara. Now if Leeds have met with Steve, then surely he knows that he's on his way .......... and if that's the case why not let us know?
  18. Another day and still no clear direction - Groan. After last weekend I need to see something positive happening with my club. Stay or go (and I prefer he go), I just need to know.
  19. Spot on. Build a support team, let them concentrate on their strengths and guide them in delivering your vision on the field. Just call Dean Smith before some other club gets him. Fashions change, it's about time they did down at Villa Park. Football has moved beyond shell suits and tight shorts.
  20. Richards is under contract until 2019, which sucks.
  21. Didn't Bruce was complain about not being able to buy certain players because of FFP restrictions? What on earth is he going to be like next time around when we're on a typical Brucie bad run of results/performances, and he's got a fraction of the money he's had before? I can hear the excuses now. Time to move on.

Good physical and skillful player. Had the biggest thighs you'll ever see. RIP Neale
  23. Keeping my fingers crossed this is true. Please, Please.
