What did the ref do wrong? I voted average as I'd say all in all he didn't get much wrong. Aurier probably should've been booked. It feels like we are using the ref as an excuse to cover up that shocking defensive display.

I dont think it's worth sitting around debating whether it was a penalty. He knocked a quick player going at full speed off his stride before touching the ball. We'd be up in arms if the teams were reversed and we didnt get that. Plus, we shouldn't let our defence off that easily. They're dragging us down game after game. Whether it's Vardy, Deeney, Wilson or Son, it seems there is no style of forward we can deal with.

Well yeah. Let's be honest, we may like some of our defenders individually, but as a unit they are the worst in the league. This is why we will go down.

Totally agree. Minus Liverpool and to some extent City, the "big six" is all over the place. There were far too many excuses when we threw away a lead to lose against ten man Arsenal. Arsenal are awful and look more like going down than making the top six. Of course losing to better teams doesn't define your season, but you need to pick up the odd win against them here and there. Our records against both the "big six", and the current top 11, are terrible, worst in the league. We need to find a way to beat these teams after losing twice to Bournemouth, and to Watford, Southampton and Palace.

I think I would've preferred Benteke, Slimani or Sturridge, I presume signing any of those three was not possible. This seems as random as Tom Carroll. Who of course also came from Swansea!

We’ve used up all our easy games and fecked them all up. Does anyone really think now we have the most difficult teams for the rest of the season we’ll start picking up wins? Trezeguet good. Everyone else appalling. Smith with a lot to think about- Reina and Drinkwater are wastes of our two loan slots. We shouldn't sign any players for big wages that'll cause us FFP issues in the Championship.

Nyland at his near post there reminds me of Grabban v Forest. He is not a good keeper and will never be good enough. Mind you, their player shouldn't have been able to walk through the midfield and defence. We have no game plan for trying to score a goal. Did we really think we could get a 0-0?

Nobody is writing him off, nobody is scapegoating him, nobody is hounding him out. He's cost us a few games and goals this season. Bournemouth, Watford, Leicester off the top of my head, probably more. He's young and will improve, but we have a right to be constructively critical of him. Slim pickings in midfield mean we don't have great alternatives, but right now for me he is a liability and shouldn't be a starter.

Luiz has done this time and time again this season, starting with Bournemouth. If he didn't have a fancy Brazilian name and come from City, nobody would have time for him.

Bowen is such an obvious signing. He'll cost a bit, but is exactly what we're crying out for, connected to the club, looks a class above in the Championship. If we go down, we'll either sell him for a similar amount, or he'll be great for us in the Championship. As I said before, I'll be really annoyed if I see him tearing it up for a relegation competitor (a bit like Maupay was for a while).

Interesting article that says there is more frustration with our wingers than Wesley. I'm inclined to agree. Jota is not good enough at this level, but could have some use if played more centrally. El Ghazi is good enough but is frustratingly inconsistent and not up for a battle. Trezeguet works hard but is an awful player, nowhere near the standard. I'll be extremely frustrated if I see Bowen tearing it up for one of our relegation rivals. We need to go all out to get him, at a minimum, plus another striker.

We know Smith has to go. This is the first time I've said it but he can't turn this around. People defended him saying we can't be expected to hold a lead against Arsenal (that's BS base on other team's results), or get anything from Chelsea (ditto). We'd get the points against Watford, Sheff U, Southampton. I'm sorry but we have to run this like a business - bring in somebody who knows how to survive relegation. Just like Watford have with Pearson. But we need some short-term changes to ensure we're not too far adrift when a new manager comes in. Douglas Luiz needs to be nowhere near the first XI. Bring Chester in at the back alongside Hause. Don't play Elmo or Jota again. And if it's not stating the obvious - Kodjia in for Wesley, for at least a five game run.

This is exactly what happened with Lambert. Inexplicably gave our manager a huge extension after a couple of decent results. It'll cost us to sack him but needs to be done.

We need to take a look at recruitment. For me we have 5 Prem quality players in our entire squad: Grealish, Heaton, McGinn, Mings and maybe Hourihane. We had all these players last season. We've wasted a fortune and it may bankrupt us when we go down.
