In their best ever season they finished above Bristol Rovers, Southampton and one of the teams that became Bristol City, only behind Swindon Town. However, that was about 120 years ago and while the Western Premier was a reasonable division back in the 1890s, it's now the 9th tier and they struggle in it, if they're even in it at all.

What I will say is our fanbase is still growing, we would easily sell out our allocation at Wembley, and would have been able to for years, but just a handful of years ago 13k was what we'd be expecting for a home game, maybe down to 10k on an evening midweek. When we reached the playoff final 11 years ago, our average crowd was a shade over 16k. Our lowest league attendance is over 2k more than that. And I realise compared to Villa those are still pretty low numbers, but we haven't achieved half the things Villa have. Our best ever finish is 2nd in the First division over 110 years ago and a FA Cup runners up about 110 years ago.

All banter and friendly rivalry aside, it feels nice to see my team has something still to play for at this point of the season without it being a relegation fight.

He is getting better at not doing that. We had a similar thing with Leeds when we went on our 9 game winning run.

We'll probably lose to Hull last day of the season to finish 7th. It's destined to be Hull, as they're the team who beat us in the Playoff final when Lee Johnson played for us.
