  1. Minimum £35m really. I just didn't want to add more disappointment after the lack of a transfer today.
  2. Think I'm on a couple of others. I know I signed to the Derby one when they were linked with Kodjia too. Then completely forgot about it. And of course I abuse the Bristol City forum on a regular basis.
  3. Not to rub anything in, but we announced out LB signing about 2 hours ago. Fee is undisclosed but the rumoured pre agreed fee we had was £2m. I look forward to Villa bidding £20m for him next summer.
  4. It'll be announced Thursday at 14.16. Trust me.
  5. With Kodjia we weren't going to sell to a Championship team, but you came in and paid what we considered to be over the value for him. Honestly all things considered since, I am still very happy with what we got for him.
  6. Thought about mentioning this. Think really it's a way of saying "hands off" without actually saying he won't be sold. £30m would genuinely be obscene money for Webster, considering I said it would take £20m for me and I thought £20m was ridiculous.
  7. The inconsistency in the censoring bugs me.
  8. Like we did with Kodjia? Or Bobby Reid? Or Lloyd Kelly? The highlighted bit is exactly the arrogance and, frankly, out of touch attitude that is the cause of perceived resentment from fans of other clubs.
  9. Apologies then if I took that wrong. I don't recall anyone saying that kind of statement still, if you have then fair enough.
  10. Probably because you made that up. I haven't said his value is X because you wanted Y for Grealish. I talked about the value of the player to the club.
  11. I said myself a few pages back that I'd reject anything under £20m. Not because his market value is that high, but his value to Bristol City is. Much like Grealish and the £35m figures being bandied around last summer. I don't think Webster will get sold this summer, but if he was I think a likely fee would be around £17m/18m with add ons taking it higher.
  12. Honestly if the £12m fee being rumoured is anything close to a genuine offer, I think the club will have laughed it away. We sold a played who couldn't even get in the first team for the last third of the season for £13m, our player of the season isn't going to be sold for a lower fee. However if he was sold I'd be concerned, Kalas seems half likely to come back right now and they were a great partnership, Webster going could change Kalas's mind unless he was given other reassurances.
  13. *Cough* I mean, he's useless, don't touch him with a barge pole.
  14. Bakers a good enough Championship defender, but out of him and Webster it's not even close.
  15. Comfortable with the ball on either foot. Brings the ball out from the back with ease, is decent enough on the ball he has even started in midfield a couple of times (notably our game where we played him as a DM in a 4-2-2-2 against WBA and went 3-0 up inside 20 minutes). He's not blisteringly quick, but he's no slouch either. Will be our record transfer if all his clauses are met (bought for £3.5m rising to potentially £8m). He made more progressive runs and more progressive passes (both stats individually, and of course combined) than any other Championship CB last season. I half jokingly said he's in the top 5 CBs in the Championship, after docking him 4 places to account for bias, but he genuinely has the talent to play for a Premier League side and is absolutely one of the best CBs in the Championship.
  16. How about you pay for Webster, but we send you Baker? Different manager and owners, they won't notice the difference (until they see him play).
  17. Today Johnson said Webster "will only be sold if we can find someone better". However talk is cheap. That said, he made an even more specific statement last year which is that "Flint would only be sold if we could sign Adam Webster."
  18. A few years ago our local journo said nothing was happening with transfers so he was off on holiday. The next day we announced a signing. Instantly. They'll be on brand new contracts so bigger fee needed to end the contracts. Plus we've seen them play for a year already- 6 months for Palmer.
  19. We're trying to get him to sign on a permanent, reported we have an agreed fee of £2m. He has said he's making a decision after his England duty is done. It's also been rumoured by someone who has been ITK in the past that we're trying to get all three of Kalas, Palmer and DaSilva from Chelsea for a combined £10m. DaSilva is very clever, knows his height is a weakness but uses his body well when challenging for headers.
  20. Kelly is a future CB, very highly rated and pacy as anything. Impressed Premier League sides when on England u21 duty. It's said Liverpool were interested but AFAIK only Bournemouth put in a bid. As for bidding for someone in our youth team, those who watch the young uns have said Cam Pring looks a very good player, wonder if you can guess his position?
  21. We tried to sign him last summer. Fee was about £4m and then Man City stepped in
  22. Webster also has the opposite attitude to Baker when it comes to playing through an injury. There was an away game this season where Webster had to leave the pitch and have stitches put in, then shortly after coming back on the wound reopened. The referee forced Webster to be subbed and he had to be pretty much dragged off the pitch.
  23. Personally I'd hope we reject anything under £20m. Ridiculous price I know, but he's a fantastic player and we just sold Kelly for £13m who while very good and a bit younger, is far back from Webster's current standards. Great with the ball at his feet, bringing the ball out of defense and passing, short and long range. Very decent in the air, although he was alongside Kalas last season who was more aerially dominant. Here's a few bits for the statistically minded This one above shows perhaps his weakness. Because he is so comfortable at playing the ball out, he's more likely to do so, and resultantly more likely to concede the ball through one of those passes. Going away from stats, someone asked Oli McBurnie who the hardest defense he had faced was (shortly after the halfway point of the season) and he said Webster and Kalas.
  24. Comfortably in the top 5 CBs in the Championship. And I'm even penalising him 4 places to account for bias.
