  1. I don't see why everyone likes Luna so much....terrible positioning, I think he's slow and not an improvement on Bennet at all...in fact I'd like to see Bennet back in the side!
  2. Benteke should have given the pass to Bacuna. Wasted opportunity!!
  3. Barry still able to pass it long to feet. Still a classy player.
  4. I feel the same way about Delph. He's been class this season and has continued with last season's fine form. Whatever about keeping hold of Benteke, we'll have some job keeping hold of this lad. Fast becoming a top premiership player.
  5. Very boring. Defence were sound enough. At least we got a clean sheet, although Hull are very poor. We really should be winning these games and may well regret today's apathetic and lethargic approach to the game. Weimann has been poor recently. Needs to get his head right. Delph was MOM. Luna and Bacuna were decent aswell. Westwood lacking a bit of sharpness.
  6. These are the games we should be looking to win but it seems we are happy to settle for 0-0. Not good enough at all.
  7. Westwood just lacking that little bit of match fitness. He's late to everything today. Has got to improve or I'd prefer to see Sylla on.
  8. True. I actually see Baccy as a great RB. He's a good athlete, great pace, and committed in the tackle. He's also decent when pressing forward. I'd like to think we can accomodate both Waccy Baccy and Lowton in the same side. I'd like to see Lowton get a run in central midfield, as I think he has good skills and awareness. Bacuna, right? Hoping "Baccy" doesn't catch on.
  9. Great result. Hopefully it will instill some much needed self belief in the side. Hope it also changes some of the depressingly negative attitudes on here. Some of the comments on the match thread were ridiculous. Voted for El Ahmadi as my MOM. Never stopped hounding them and was clever with the ball when in possession. Bacuna Vlaar and Delph impressed also.
  10. Well he was picked for both the Spanish U19 amd U20 squads. Can't be shite if he made those squads.
  11. According to RCD Mallorca official web Juan Manuel Luna Rodriguez has played for Spain's U19 and U20 teams. Left-footed player who can operate either as a left back or in left midfield. Apparently he's got good technical ability and is a versatile , hard- working player. No mention of him coming to Villa, though. No news about this at all on the Sevilla site.
  12. Priority must be to hold on to Benteke and other new comers like Lowton and Westwood who have been a revelation. Next season is about keeping the momentum of the last few months going and improving on the defence and midfield. If Lambert can sort out the defence with two additions and a couple more in midfield we should certainly be aiming for a top half finish. I'd even hold on to Bennet as I think he has been improving and has shown recently that he can indeed improve further. In fact a proper pre-season and some individual coaching could make the world of difference.

    Cheers Stan. All the best.
  14. Gabby easily MOM. Best player out there today. Benteke and Weimann were very poor so just as well Gabby had a great day. Baker was solid at the back and Lichaj did ok when he came on. Vlaar had a few lapses in concentration and poor Joe Bennett had a stinker. Can only hope he learns from it and pushes on. Westwood and Delph were alright but Sylla was never really involved. Vital win though. Nice one Gabby!!
  15. Delph has to sort his passing out. Fluffs too many of them.
