  1. I don't really have much tme for Tonev any more, I'd rather we just got rid now to be honest. It was like watching a child play where their dad has told them to shoot when ever they see the goal, it was quite embarrassing at times.
  2. I don't really want him but if it's a loan deal then i'd probably be ok with that, it's a short term solution at least.
  3. I'd love Gardner to be great and there was so much talk he was going to be, but I just worry he hasn't got enough about him. Hopefully he will prove me wrong and step up this season and we start to see the best of him.
  4. If he is cheap and on a low wage then sure, he could be useful. But his wage demands will be far too high, i'd much rather someone else.
  5. welcome, hopefully as good as we've been told you are.
  6. BREAKING: DELPH HAVING CITY MEDICAL Sky sources understand Aston Villa midfielder Fabian Delphis currently having a medical at Manchester City.
  7. yeah it's gone from quite an optimistic looking future to .... well... i'm not sure now.
  8. and the Man City agent is with him because.....? Do you know that's an agent? Same person that was with Sterling for his medical. Either an agent for City or some other City rep. ah fair enough then, I'd not seen the photos of Sterling.

  10. I very much doubt they would react so quickly, we don't even know if it's a photo of him yet.
  11. It would be a pretty big blow for the club if the rumours are true, hopefully it's all nonsense.
  12. I'd happily take him, just not for half the Benteke money. I agree with you, I think he's a good player and would work well for us but you are right £15 mill seems to high right now.
  13. Ideally it would have been nice to keep Benteke but he wanted to go and we are getting good money for him. In a year's time he will be worth a lot less and a year after that he will be free as he isn't going to sign a new contract with us, unless we were pushing for champions league. So this is the best time for him to be moving on in terms of us getting the most for him. I don't want to lose him, but there's no point getting annoyed about it. I'm actually quite excited about the idea of bringing in a few new faces with the money, I really hope we spend it wisely and not on some old has beens.
  14. We can lose when we end up with Ricky Lambert and Adebayor up front for us next season
  15. He's rubbish. He was excellent in the second half of the season. He must have got close to ten assists. I'd take him if we can get that kind of form out of him and the price is right. He also scored at Villa Park didn't he? Grealish didn't even manage that.
  16. really pleased Delphy is staying out!
  17. I think he is taking a big risk going to Man City, I can understand it as it's a big move for him and he wants to try an succeed there, he must feel he can but if he fails to then he ends up sitting on the bench for most the season and probably putting his England spot in trouble. As many of you have said to, it feels like a kick in the teeth for us who have stuck by him all these years and then he makes his big statement about being loyal and then moves on as soon as a better offer comes in. But good luck to him, he's worked hard in his career and deserves to be a success but I feel he could have become that at Villa.
  18. This name has been on the forums now for a while, do we have any real evidence anything is going on?
  19. The problem with Adebayor is his mentality. He can play a bit, i'll give you that but if things start going wrong you won't see him during the game, he will sulk and walk around. That is the sort of mentality that Lambert seemed to get from players and it was part of the reason we have struggled so much, we really don't need players like this any more. Take Richards for example, he turned down two big clubs to come and play for Villa and from what i've seen of him so far he looks really happy to be here. This happy positive vibe going from him will effect the rest of the squad and we need this, we don't need problems this season and I think Adebayor has the risk of being one.
  20. I don't think he was all that bad, but he didn't do much to make me think he was all that good either. He was alright and did a job. I think as Aston Villa supporters over the last few years we have gotten used to average but hopefully this year we are starting to move away from that and unfortunately Cissokho doesn't really fit into those plans.
  21. I don't think he did, I read a quote from him saying we left it really late and there just wasn't enough time to get the deal done. Personally I would be quite disappointed to sign Lambert now, I certainly wouldn't want him to be one of our main strikers and he would demand a far to big of a wage to sit on the bench all season.
  22. I'd quite like to see Austin here too, but we haven't been linked with him for a while now (except for Richards suggesting him as a replacement for Benteke) and quite a number of clubs have so I doubt we will be the ones that land him.
  23. I'm really pleased with the signing of Richards. He seems to be the type of player want, he seems bright and happy. We need more of this sort of thing, get everyone enjoying playing again and enjoying coming into training etc. He also seems like he could be a good leader and that's the sort of opportunity he was looking for which I think was a key reason he came to us. For me we don't have enough leaders, even some of our more experienced players seem very quiet, take Vlaar and Delph.
  24. If a club comes in for you and you have someone joining you who spent many years at that club you are bound to ask some questions, if anything it's an ice breaker for getting to know a new face. I wouldn't read too much into that at the moment. At the end of the day if Man City can offer him big wages and a starting play then you can understand his interest but right now I don't think they can offer him that so it's dangerous for him to take a risk of putting his growing career on hold. So for me it all comes down to that, and it's pretty much what Micah said in his interview.
  25. I think a good time to move on for Shay to be honest. He was great for us towards the end of last season and this way he goes out with a bang as I think it's unlikely he will play much next season. Only his age is holding him back at the moment, and unfortunately age catches up with us all. Good luck Shay.
