  1. Its not a simple as changing the manager IMO. Its the vision the upper management has for the club thats important. We have had 2 managers that the present management team have picked, GH and AM, both had their fans and also their enemies within our fans. GH had heart problems, was out of the game for some time. AM, relegated blues, was our rivals manager and his team played ugly boring football. (he was also ginger......... :winkold: ) Can someone tell me who has the football knowledge (at senior level) to make these major decisions? We seem to have no direction. As someone pointed out earlier, how can we go from interviewing Martinez to appointing AM or from having GH as our manager? They are completely different beasts, at least IMO. If AM was a risk then why not point him on a rolling contract? Who sacked MON? Who carried on with signing Ireland when we was managerless? All the succesful clubs have a strong upper managerment team, Spurs, Manure, Arsenal, Chelsea spring to mind. Infact Levy, ATM, would be my dream signing for Villa. Now im not sure if Randy Lerner has a really active roll in these decisions (i would doubt it very much). He does however have power over his managment team, ie the people who make these kind of decisions. Randy ownership of the Browns shows us one thing....... "On December 21, 2009, as Mangini's first season was coming to a close, former Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks head coach Mike Holmgren was hired as team President and was given authority over the team's football operations. This hire was made after Browns owner Randy Lerner announced that he wished to bring in a "serious, credible leader" to steer the team in the right direction" See here Randy..... Villa need a "serious, credible leader" to steer the team in the right direction"
  2. It really is quite simple and you are right it was not a footballing decision. I agree with both statements, who can make a football decision in a club which has no knowledge of the game? (one who's in charge) I cannot for the life of me believe Lerner has made the same mistake with the Villa with the one he made at the Browns, we need a figure head who has football knowledge and respect within the game........sort it out Randy.
  3. Not that I want to take anything away from the way Swansea approach games, but I genuinely believe that we made them look like Brazil. We looked hopeless chasing them down, and we gave the ball back to them way to easy. If we'd been playing Barcelona today, we would have been absolutely destroyed. Luckily Swansea aren't as good as that. Maybe, im a Villa fan, Swansea had players on that pitch that shouldn't be anywhere near us....they outplayed us, even Routledge looked deadly. Something aint right at Villa park, aint been right for probably 2 seasons now. We need someone who can pick a manager who's gonna give us hope, MON was good for a top 6 finish, GH had lost his mind, AM appears to be struggling, IMO You dont change a winning team! Whos at fault? IMO........the owner for not picking a CEO who knows about football, get GT in, Big Ron....anyone who knows how to pick a manager or even knows about football. Its no good letting people like SALF pick our manager, thats the CEO job IMO........ps im a bit excited tonight, sorry but 0-2 at home against last years promoted team shows me how bad a position were in!
  4. Swansea looked like Brazil today, well played.............
  5. F**k Houllier......... i dont care what he planned, he was shit, allienated 95% of our fans and was no good for us at all. AM biggest mistake was to drop Allrighton (change a winning team), he showed more in 20 minutes than all the others did in 90, bringing Ireland off was a mistake as well, he worked his bollox off while he was on the pitch. Hutton, to my surprise did well. Warnock was owned! (best thing he did was hand ball it off the line) Swansea looked like Brazil today, well played We were, AT HOME ffs. The fight was there, the tatics were not. Long season ahead lads...........
  6. When AM touches the SHA sign, then after losing claps their fans, ignoring ours, then and only then will Houlllier's disrespect for our fans pale into my memory. AM........jury still out, signs of a good manager.....maybe, signs of a bad one maybe....UTV

    Top Gear

The main part of Top Gears entertainment value for me is their hair styles.......how bouffant can you get, hair dryers at the ready, rollers, hairpspray the full works, the shows a joke. Another boys only, middle class, BBC waste of taxes. The public want a car show, they want to see £10k sports cars, £2k baggers, £5k luxury cars, £20k new cars. The BBC however wants to shows middle age ego driven crap comedians. If you want to laugth then watch only fools and horses.......or perhaps we are?
  8. £25m.......we never sell at a loss. Bellamy can come over to us as well, that way we get a player who can score goals. Liverpool need CL this year, if they dont their business model is under pressure and that leads to trouble, even with a rich owner like we have, which they havent got btw.
  9. SGC you are certainly not a talent spotter :!: where did i say? i was complimenting tro who i think is an excellent football poster Spotting football posters?
  10. Throw her down a mineshaft, her work here is completed......... ;-)
  11. Unless they was your friend? Or if the system that taught you showed you this was the way? After all you dont want to employ someone who tells the truth no matter what the politcal implication are, would you? A modern politicians main aim is to get and keep elected, what they do after that is a secondary consideration.
  12. I agree, politics is now a course you take at uni, a social class, a closed club. I dont think any existing party would have the drive, knowledge or backing to do what needs to be done (im pretty sure they havent). We need a new ruling class or a different system.........or perhaps both. This can only be achieved by the people in this country, not the leaders, they have failed and have no answers im afraid, just the same old ways that got us in the mess to start with. Vive la Revolution!
  13. Just back the player regardless of what happened......like L'Pool and Chelsea have.......He made a mistake and hes now willing to put his hands up and say he was wrong, how wrong is that? IMO it shows a touch of class about the whole situation from both Villa and Bannan.
  14. ^ Sames as ^, lets see what team he puts out against Stoke, the deisre from the players last night was plain to see and all we can really ask for given the loss of our best players. If however he goes back to trying to scrape a draw (tempting with Stoke away) then my opinion of him will drop back down to 3/10.
  15. Our governments existing experts are mainly backing an economy built on financial institutions providing the wealth we need. IMO we need experts who back the manufacturing, construction and farming industries to increase growth. The instability in our economy will always remain if the renewable energy crisis is not answered. Build a tidal generation scheme, drive research into generating energy from the sea, waves, tides.....The existing system of sticking wind turbines on the earths most powerful energy source (the sea) is misguided and plain wrong, IMHO. If we can get cheap energy then manufacturing would flourish (inward investment), construct undergrounds for major citys, drive the economy from the bottom up (giving the low level workers the investment through construction job wages). Something that adds value to our country. Throwing money into a financial pyramid scheme is not going to solve our problems for very long. Its a change of direction thats needed, A leader whos from a banking background is not going to provide the answers for us all, he will protect the system and the backers who made him "Our Leader......"
  16. Its the amount of corners we concede thats the problem, 12 against in the second half and Arsenal scored from 1........ Overall a lot better from all concerned, real effort and desire to win. Hutton was foolish and let himself down after playing his best game for us. Bannan played well, Dunne was the best by a country mile, kept VP quiet and he (IMO) is the most deadly strike this season..... Keep up that amount of effort and i will have no complaints.
  17. Why have parties or the House of Commons at all ? It's a drain on resources and it exists to only look after the very select few. Look at the people running it now, out of the depth just does not cover it. Just have democracy by internet voting. No different to turning up to a half falling down school on a cold Thursday night but allow everyone to vote on everything. A few restrictions would be needed on who can vote but I see no reason why not. mmm Think it may be better for the new party to outsource the running of the country to experts who are answerable to the people who run the party. Major decisions could be voted on. Im not sure the general public could run the country on a daily vote basis, minority interest groups could concentrate their support on certain days to push through ridculous laws or policies. Even if a party was set up just to show how unpopular our politicians are are, it would show them all that enough is enoughm a sort of people veto
  18. These players needed to be loaned out seasons ago (i know delph was injured). We have had seasons where they aint stood a chance of playing yet they have still sat on the bench, or in the squad. We need CEO or a director of football who knows the game ffs, Randy learnt this lesson with the Browns.....or at least i though he did. These small deicisions when lined up one after the other make us look like a bunch novices. Delph needs to play at least a season to get any true guage of his ability, send him out on loan (with facility to call him back)
  19. I would say the last 40 years have been a mess tbh. Does kind of make you wonder why another party hasn't took advantage their hopless performances. I wonder how hard it would be to set a political party up, surely the internet would make it very easy?
  20. Investing so much in the south is killing this country and has done for years. A high profile Mayor for Birmingham would be a good step. Forget the High speed train network, let have an underground system built in Birmingham Incidently the very fact that any rise in the sea levels would flood london is a point that is being overlooked London flood
  21. Good luck in getting better, you have taken the first step.
  22. We import more from Europe than we export, who has the most to lose? If we stay outside and leave the markets unregulated then where will all the money go? I would guess to the UK. Its a risk but its one either way IMO. For what its worth I would rather stay out of Europe and stay a democracy. To be ruled by unelected politicians is the beginning of the end.
  23. Business rates and rent make the high street a very expensive place to sell your goods compared to the net. The future is a niche product (how the internet boom started) Really sad to see high streets, like Erdington, decline into the usual pound shop, gregs, witherspoons type rubbish.
  24. Having a look around facebook and noticed that when you go to application request it shows what apps your friends are using. http://www.facebook.com/?sk=apps Amazing the amount of people who are in relationships yet use apps like "Are YOU Interested?" and "Zoosk"......be warned though, I can see this causing plenty of pre christmas bust ups.
