  1. He's a younger version of Bolaise... and as of right now, his "ability" and end product reflects that. Should have a much higher ceiling, Villa will probably ruin him.
  2. Nope... a promising change appeared to be present in our general performance against city, with a much more structured defensive unit. This went missing against Everton, but that's a difficult away game and Remi did at least react at half time and make some changes. Now how effective these were is difficult to asses as Everton clearly took their foot off the gas. However, it was clear as day from that game that Richardson is finished at the Prem league level. Now a new manager can be excused such poor judgement while learning the abilities of his new squad. So I was shocked to see him starting today and you could clearly see that Watford were targeting him. The manager should have found an alternative during the week... there quite simply has to be someone who can play that position better than that thief Richardson. We do not need any contribution going forward, simply defensive solidity. I see this as a disappointing performance from the manager. The defence plus Sanchez (as our CBs are inept, yes both of them) need to be a single unit. This did not look the case basically at any point during the game today, and added to this we had the dramatic fall off in performance of Sanchez, Hutton and Gil as the game progressed. It was like watching an underage game. To see full professional fall apart like that is plain scary (though in no way surprising from Hutton). Basically, we're done now. The only way we could stay up is by sorting the defence out and building from there, hence, my initial delight at the City performance (cheers De Bruyne). This was clearly a mirage. Aston Villa are incapable of keeping clean sheets. Aston Villa will play in the championship next season.
  3. 3-3 seems you can score by shooting... how strange
  4. Beer in the fridge and tasty whisky in the cupboard... It'll be ok
  5. Everton win with last kick of game and we won't even shoot
  6. rubbish... don't look like scoring.... down down down
  7. Oh... look, just bust our ass to sign Stevie G in Jan, at least make our relegation enjoyable
  8. if we can't score another against this clown...
  9. That's practically an insult given how rotten Gomes looks.. lol
  10. We really really need to find an alternative to Richardson at left back, awful... physically not able for it anymore.
  11. Veretout seems to have been given instructions not to get too far ahead of the ball... not sure that's the best idea given his ability to get up and down the field is one of his strengths Nice one Clarkly!
  12. was going out for throw only for hitting the CBs shins
  13. For those who liked 80 blocks from Tiffany's A history of drugs in Detroit... it's a rough enough doc, but the sheer scale of death is frightening. "Detroit bankruptcy documentary on Crime: Gangs, drug dealers, decline of the economy" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RjMXFOMhbeQ
  14. Sir, may i politely suggest that you ease off on the kool-aid! Where is the proof that anything has been foiled... anonymous propaganda sources? Please remember, that one of the main results the Snowden aftermath was that we learned quite explicitly how pointless the current programs are. Pretty much all of the Paris guys were known to our mythical "Intelligence" services. Properly resourced police work is what is required not throwing money at blowing things up in the middle east. Regarding your "logically it will.." statement. "Bomb them over there and for god sake don't show me the grisly aftermath on the evening news, I'm trying to eat!" Perhaps, they might think that bombing London/Manchester/Paris etc. is a logical way to attack us? The orientalism appears to be very strong in you or at least the opinion you have written. We are not needed at all, in fact one could quite validly make the case that it is our involvement that has led us to the current situation.
  15. It appears that Ravel Morrison has just washed out at Lazio. Please Jack, take note.
  16. There is no singular need for bombs or ground troops to defeat ISIS. They cannot be militarily defeated and to claim they can is naive, e.g., Taliban or any other "freedom" struggle. As objectionable as they are, there are longer term issues related to Sykes-Picot that need to be resolved, ISIS are symptomatic of this. The easiest way to strip them of their "power" is to turn off the dollar/arms flows. These have matter of factly been provisioned by us and our allies, i.e., we are on the USA/Saudi/Turkey side. Somehow, we appear to believe that the people in those countries are not aware of this and that they will welcome our bombing them to their freedom. Also, please don't hang on the "freedom struggle" comment above, it's not meant in a literal sense (e.g., interpret literally some of the nonsense recited in your local worship center of choice this Xday). ISIS/Daesh are clearly supported by significant powerful interests in this area and the general idealogical struggle against our (The West) long term imposition of Dictatorship etc. is keenly present in the minds of the populations of people living in that geographical area. A political solution is necessary... we support dictators in the gulf states and now in quasi-sense in Egypt too. As for Cameron, he is looking for a seat back at the table after parliament slapped him down last year (or whenever it was)... realpolitik 101. The Turks are doing their thing, the Iranians another, etc., etc. At this time I think it's worth reminding ourselves of the horror at the link below. The people currently in power (40-60yrs old) in Iraq all know someone whose child was from their perspective murdered. All of the current 20-30yr olds, engine of the economy and next leaders, generation have grown up sans a brother/sister, again murdered. This was all "worth it" for someone or something. Madelaine Albright justifies genocide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=omnskeu-puE This is a mess. More bombing by us is not an answer. Edit: These are some of my thoughts on this that I just thought I'd add as the ongoing discussion here is very interesting with lots of good points and counterpoints.
  17. Careful, if Fox news hear that Daish are/was in Birmingham as well as Sharia law... who knows what kind of fun will ensue
  18. Also worth a read... Juan Cole's take on the situation. "... If Jabal Turkmen is a red line for Turkey, Latakia port is a red line for Russia. Red lines have a way of turning into hot wars." http://www.juancole.com/2015/11/turkey-russian-plane.html
  19. They are getting wiped out? Time is their ally, not ours! Politicians talk a lot, but what is actually happening. These two things are not equal regardless of the recently found earnestness of Mr. Hollande. Remember, oil was freely flowing until a few days ago, and arms likely flow freely still. and yes... some form of divine silliness is likely in their playbook too, but most humans suffer from some form of this affliction.
  20. Or how about Daesh... you know, their actual name. Given the chaos currently exhibited by the forces lined up against them and their known supporters, if you were in this group, would you be overly concerned right now or happy with how your strategy is playing out. Because make no mistake they are intelligent and do have a strategy.
