  1. Apparently this is a true story. Proof of what can happen if a wife or girlfriend drags her husband or boyfriend along shopping - this letter was recently sent by Tesco's Head Office to a customer in Oxford : Dear Mrs. Murray, While we thank you for your valued custom and use of the Tesco Loyalty Card, the Manager of our store in Banbury is considering banning you and your family from shopping with us, unless your husband stops his antics. Below is a list of offences over the past few months all verified by our surveillance cameras: 1. June 15: Took 24 boxes of condoms and randomly put them in people's trolleys when they weren't looking. 2. July 2: Set all the alarm clocks in Housewares to go off at 5-minute intervals. 3. July 7: Made a trail of tomato juice on the floor leading to feminine products aisle. 4. July 19: Walked up to an employee and told her in an official tone, "Code 3" in housewares..... And watched what happened. 5. August 14: Moved a 'CAUTION - WET FLOOR' sign to a carpeted area. 6. September 15: Set up a tent in the outdoor clothing department and told shoppers he'd invite them in if they would bring sausages and a Calor gas stove. 7. September 23: When the Deputy Manager asked if she could help him, he began to cry and asked, "Why can't you people just leave me alone?" 8. October 4: Looked right into the security camera; used it as a mirror, picked his nose, and ate it. 9. November 10: While appearing to be choosing kitchen knives in the Housewares aisle asked an assistant if he knew where the antidepressants were. 10. December 3: Darted around the store suspiciously, loudly humming the "Mission Impossible" theme. 11. December 6: In the kitchenware aisle, practiced the "Madonna look" using different size funnels. 12. December 18: Hid in a clothing rack and when people browsed, yelled "PICK ME!" "PICK ME!" 13. December 21: When an announcement came over the loud speaker, assumed the foetal position and screamed "NO! NO! It's those voices again." And; last, but not least: 14. December 23: Went into a fitting room, shut the door, waited a while; then yelled, very loudly, "There is no toilet paper in here." Yours sincerely, Charles Brown Store Manager
  2. Quite looking forward to tomorrow's game, not been to reserves for ages
  3. Tis true in 10 attempts The Royals have only beaten us once, a game OldFart remembers well - an FA Cup 2nd replay in 1912
  4. OK OK I've had a thankyou note through from someone connected to the club, about how good it is that we righted this wrong. Can we get this back on Topic
  5. well we're not playing a great deal in the next month are we, which given that Liam hasn't played for a while too is another reason why we could let him go out on loan. YES it's sha (capitals BOF!!! whatever next a blue scarf adorning your neck ;-) ) and like I said we should look for him to go elsewhere. I would rather he did that and kept up his readiness to play first team football than went playing pool / golf every afternoon. And I think he would learn a valuable lesson in playing in the Chumps league too. There but for the grace of god.....
  6. If you want to discuss the language in and around football grounds can we start a new thread please?
  7. Hmm maybe they think of it as a football decision and getting Liam some more experience as it seems he is currently fourth choice! Some people can see beyond the sha obsessions that others have ;-) A loan with an immediate recall option should we need him due to injuries would suit us. BUT I would prefer he went somewhere else if he were to be loaned out to be honest.
  8. Is that like Adidas buying Reebok to get Bolton - sorry I mean the AFL deal?
  9. cat just been on your sig have to say there are some excellent shots If only I had a camera to even try such things
  10. for those thinking about next Tuesday ( I am but need to check where I'll be first) Fulham FC Training Ground, Motspur Park, New Malden, Surrey, KT3 6PY M25 junction 10 then A3 towards Central London. Exit the A3 at junction with A2043 and take right turn over A3 into Malden Road. Turn left in Motspur Park Road turning for ground. By Rail Nearest Station is Motspur Park, a 20 minute journey from Waterloo. On exiting Motspur Park Station, turn right and walk over the rail track, our home pitch is 200 metres down Motspur Park Road.[/code]
  11. well from a link off newsnow he's obviously saving himself for us
  12. leave him alone VB that's an enlarged photo
  13. Cole at DErby - I NEVER take a friendly as a debut! And Milan was the difference in the game v Blackburn as he got the winner, and when Berger came on we should have scored more.... But anyway back On Topic there have been three games this season where I've seen it said that 'It was one of those days' Bolton, Spuds (H) and now this one. You cannot keep haing 'One of those days' or it becomes 'another normal Villa game'
  14. The difference Al is this At the start of the season we were playing for the most part pretty average football and not losing. To have continued with that poor level of performance would have seen us fall down the League, as happened. If we continue to play with the "verve and skill" that we did last night then its only a matter of time imo before results turn around Agree entirely but I'm also wary of ever playing someone up based on their debut, based on recent history alone Carlton Cole and Milan Baros both had excellent debuts in games where Villa actually won and won well, and we know what happened there. I don't think we are bad enough to go down but we do have to stop this run very quickly, which does not necessarily mean win one, lose two. We need to get back to picking up points in far far more games.
  15. Arsenal were unlucky in that game earlier this season when they had 24 shots and never scored; Forest played good football and were unlucky when they got relegated; West Ham were unlucky to see Gerard hit that screamer in the FA Cup final all unlucky sides LOSING which is something we've been too frequestly of late. Yes there were positives let's just hope that they were not a false dawn
  16. Certainly how I established 500K or 250k Scott And still why I think we do not need to get rid of him it's not we need the £500k especialy if he were to leave to a team that we could, a good run allowing, be competing near at the end of the season
  17. Nor me and I rate his far higher than £500k too. I cannot think of anyone who is readily available AND better that we could go for, especially in a day!
  18. Baggies over Blose for me (and at least one other it seems), bigger club won more; closer; more trouble at game; more seasons playing them etc
  19. TRL he is 212cm and 208Kg if that impresses you..... but really he is 65kg and 175cm if my maths is right
  20. I was hoping someone else would raise this. If he were I would not expect the General to post it here, yet I feel he like us is leaving it to Randy and MO'N as has said that earlier too.
  21. General, I'm guessing you are still stateside so I hope you get to watch the match tomorrow, thanks for the regular updates and let's hope that a whole of people can be a lot less frustrated soon. Three points will no doubt help with that. Allan
  22. please keep posts about the badge on that thread, PC has raised his point - thanks LV
  23. I'd love to be proven wrong but I just don't see it, if you want a thug in the middle of the pitch then yes he is quality.
