  1. So did my cousin with the nan!
  2. Not done close ups like that.... need to find the setting on that camera Bicks!!!
  3. does anyone else 'cept rjw still regularly update theirs?
  4. Exactly! Yeah, exactly. That's why, legally, a newspaper article can constitute a transfer request. "Legally" a newspaper article means shit.......... A signed document by the player and representatives constitutes a legally binding transfer request. Interesting poin t that one so I called a lawyer who deals with a Chumpionship club and he reaffirmed Redman's view that the newspaper article could be used as evidence of a transfer request. Especially as there has been no retraction. If it went to court he believes that Villa would be able put an injunction on GB being able to play whilst in the courts. to thetrees - I agree with you on Randy's support, however, the impact this could have on our club albeit prediction and supposition is an unknown. If I were a player looking to move to a bigger/better club from say West Ham I would look at MO'Ns actions here and have second thoughts.
  5. Well as the content of the letter is unknown anything we discuss on that is pointless. The next move is in all probability theirs to make. Personally in a negotiation I'd go back with Alonso, Finnan and £3m please FSW. Rumours and supposition will no doubt come out in the rags (include SSN in this ) this week as it's yet another quiet week and playing GB in the reeserves last nights stirred it all up.
  6. point missed once more. I'm all for and fully agree with Randy supporting MO'N that is as it should be, at least publically. Back to MO'N reluctance to negotiate, I see Jon agree too, we don't have to negotiate, we don't have to sell him, however, we do need to sign players, to replace Barry. This stubbornness could well be one factor why a player may not sign for us. Liverpool have offered Finnan in a deal, as far as I'm aware it was rejected offhand yet we still need a RB. Transfers are about negotiation not sticking your fingers in your ears. It seems to me that whatever MO'N does some will not see that it could affect our club negatively - this is one thing I feel that could. Get it sorted, get rid and move on
  7. I agree with this and we know what pride comes before... £18m or Allan do you think we should have excepted below what we think Barry is worth especially how the scum in scouse land have acted ? so exactly ho do you think the club (for sure Lerner agrees 100% with MON) could have handled it any better considiring all the stuff from there .... Missed the point, I know the price we keep telling everyone, however to not even discuss other deals seems to be to be a stubbornness on MO'Ns behalf. I don't really care about Barry's career I do care that we could well end up with the worst of this - no money to replace someone who wants to leave and thus the squad is reduced further. No amount of debate will ever convince me the Sidwell is (and was bought as) the replacement for GB. Randy's support is a moot point in this, I really cannot see why you put that in.

  9. It depends on your point-of-view, doesn't it? If you are talking in terms of Barry's career, you could say O'Neill is denying him the right to play at the highest level of club football and enhance his chances of playing at the world cup. Or you could say O'Neill is protect him from being misuesed and thus dropped from the England team. You could say Barry might have now looked at Liverpools pathetic attempts to sign him and realised the grass isn't greener. You could say lots of things I'll say I and the majority just want it sorted.
  10. that is a cracker can see why uoui like it.
  11. like those VII bicks Formby AGAIN?
  12. Good post, this for me goes alongside those fans who will undoubtedly boo him tonight (they pays their money they can do what they want). As that will unsettle the palyer further and he may actually not want to play for us again and sit in the stands his value will drop like a stone and we still have no replacement - we lose out. Final Offer if it exists simply has to be taken as MO'N (and it seems some fans) are not prepared to let him back. Hmm didn't Reo-coker do the same when at West Ham when he stated he wanted to go to Arse, they never bid and he stayed?
  13. Agree with this, grew up with parents both working Dad at Leyland then Land Rover; Mum at Rover subsiary. Hand me downs commonplace - footie boots until I got my own new pair at 14. Lived and brought up in Redditch prior to i going downhill. I have more saved up already than I would get in inheritance; I've personally worked since I was 13 in various jobs until a 10month 'break' last year;, I ask for very little (except more time to play golf and get to Villa) and need even less; I would therefore conside myslef to be of working class stock but now pretty well firmly entrenched in middle class mediocrity. Which I think all VTers who have met me would agree.
  14. Cheers Rev - new tunes for the phone. Black Sabbath - sorry but they are only rated by those that like metal. As for defining genres - what pretentious twaddle. Nirvana - sorry I'm not musically minded enough to know how good they were but of that list they were the most over-rated, or did I just not get it? Sorry him? It? Him .... y'see. U2 would win any proper poll on here I guess.

    Dexter

Well I watch and like House, Greys Anatomy and Shark. For piece on the house I also can be found watching Nip|Tuck and Dirt, both of which are watchable without being something I'd look for a repeat if I missed it 1st time.

  17. Couple of quickies for you. Will the Citeh game be on the Saturday or Sunday (Aston's b'day)? As you can tell it's a must answer question ;-) Without giving too much away re the Sunday - when will tickets be on sale?
  18. cheers Rob. Another excellent piece Pb. take a bow... :notworthy:
  19. Who is your favourite all time Villa player? Which player do you wish we'd never signed? Hmm a new thread to stop the plethora of Speculation threads?
  20. What percent of the perfect pint of Guinness should be white? On a similar vein - shamrocks in the head - good or bad?
  21. But it helps every golfer the same yet he still dominates those with equal equipment. And it's the short game that wins you trophies. That's where he really excels and that's not as susceptible to changing technology as it's not a raw power thing. FWIW I believe there has never been a golfer like Woods. FWIW I believe there has never been a golfer like Nicklaus for without him and the battles he had in the 60s and 70s with Palmer and Watson the game would be nothing like the one Tiger dominates now. I accept that there are far more good golfers now, I don't think they are competitive and see beating Woods as a challenge to accept. To answer another point raised: The game is global yet all it means is that a lot of mediocre players are now making a living at it. And back to BOF, short game technology. I bet Nicklaus wished he had a club (60degree wedge) that he could stop on a sixpence - he didn't have that. Also the advance in putting equipment is unbelievable too.
  22. Nicklaus every time for me. Especially if it was matchplay. Technology these days helps Tiger far too much. I mean I hit my dirver a good 40 yards further now than when I was far younger and fitter.
