If we do sign a decent left back and defensive midfielder then our team won't look too bad especially with the bomb squad returning plus okore and Kozak back from long term injuries
One of the local journos has just said a few interesting things on twitter...
1) All interest in Lescott has now ended as he was delaying to look at all options so we signed Senderos instead
2) All early business is done
3) more signings are expected. Left Back and holding midfielder priorities
Linked with Wes Hoolahan again in the Daily Star tonight. Can't see it happening for 2 reasons...
1) Norwich will not do business with Lambert as seen in January
2) Hoolahan isn't a free agent so Randy won't pay a fee for anyone as he wants out.
Think Lambert is making a list of free agents for each position. Started by trying for likes of Ferdinand and Lescott, got rejected so went to bottom of list and managed to sign Senderos.
Think it will be the same for each position...
1) Try for decent player
2) offer 20k and get laughed
3) sign reject on low wages
Nursey said a few days back Lambert will go in for Hoolahan and Pilkington this summer. Think it's a waste of time though as Norwich refused to do business with us in January so why would they now
I think everyone is a bit of doom and gloom because everyone thought a deal was imminent due to lies and fake ITKs on TBAR.
Still have a sneaky feeling something will be done. Well I hope so anyway for the sake of my health browsing through each page and checking the thread every 10 minutes hoping for news
It's so frustrating that all the press and Media claimed during the season If we stay up we get a dream takeover and now when the season has ended and we are still a premier league club all the press have changed it to "no buyer" and "minimum of 6 months"
The day Lerner released the statement Bryan Swanson (skysports) said Randy wanted to sell within 6 weeks. We are currently only 2 weeks into those 6 weeks and the signs are that there is something happening in the background (Banks, Kieth Harris etc).
If at the end of the world cup still no updates or leaks then I will be very worried though.
Charlie Wyett has said on twitter that a deal fell through and that is why Lerner made the statement. He said any deal will now take a minimum of 6 months
At the moment the club is in a desperate state, I think we need to use everyone we have available. I think bringing back Hutton,Bent and Nzogbia is sensible
I think the key part of the interview isnt the "new people" or "we saw" parts but the actual fact that every question regarding new owners were completely deflected.
Surely if there were no new owners or no bids on thr the table he would just come out a make it clear
Did anyone else notice in both interviews lambert did any questions regarding a potential sale were completely dodged and reflected away?
Also stated he may hear in "1 or 2 weeks" then quickly changed it to "6 months or a year or however long it takes to sell a club"
Personally this makes me think that there is some sort of offer on thw the table for us but he doesn't want to say anything on it incase it falls through. Also both interviewed seemed scripted. The same wording and phrases were used throughout both
