  1. There is nothing there that we don't already know and willingly acknowledge. But the point that is constantly missed is the desire in the squad is nil. You can have a squad of certified journey men, no marks and cloggers but still at least give it a go. That attitude is completely devoid at VP and that rests squarely a the feet of the manager. Playing dull, brainless, "defensive" football is one thing but to surrender before sending the side out on the pitch is something else entirely. We have witnessed such on many occasions this season provoking the question..... "What's the point?" AM has to go. He, along with the adminstration, is ruining the club. AM is ruining the team all on his own. The desire in the squad is at nil due to all of our best players being sold, therefore the remaining players are now left thinking 'whats the **** point?'
  2. the other was actually Luke Young but Spurs did sell Defoe, Carrick, Keane and Berbatov over 2 years Very good point, I think Spurs went through a strange period then, hence buying Defoe and Keane back. But they utilised there transfer funds better (another point of debate though). Just this summer for instance - Modric. Says it all really
  3. do they really count Shorey and Knight Agreed, obviously they were just trying to illustrate a point. Barry, Milner, Young, Downing, Cahill all in 2yrs is truly shocking in business and football terms. Don't see Spurs doing that?!
  4. Taken from Football 365 http://football365.com/f365-features/7400128/New-Year-Resolutions Aston Villa - Patience is a virtue (for now) Abusive graffiti on local walls and protests outside the stadium made for an uneasy introduction for Alex McLeish, and his footballing 'style' is often an insult to the noun. If you asked many Villa supporters, they would have asked Father Christmas for a new manager under their tree. But hear this: Aston Villa are no longer a top-six club, and should be sectioned with Fulham, Sunderland and Everton as the 'may do wells'. The club may have spent £24million on Darren Bent, but selling your best two midfielders negates such a purchase, and it is rare to discover a striker that does not rely on service. True, the club spent £16million in the summer (N'Zogbia, Given and Hutton) but all were replacements and, in any case, Stoke spent £18million and acquired two England internationals on free transfers. Petrov, Heskey, Dunne, Warnock, Given, Cuellar: all are aged 30 or more. McLeish has been dour but a club that has sold seven England internationals since the summer of 2009 was only going one way. The first club of England's second city needs rebuilding. McLeish may not be the long-term answer, but to lay the blame solely at his feet is the action of a naïve man
  5. sums up my feelings exactly Agreed, and I think a main reason was not listening to the fans when appointing Mcleish. I don't think it would have made the board look weak if they did a u-turn, there were protests for Gods sake!
  6. McLeish was at the club for two months before Young was sold. But he was only sold because he wanted to move back to Wimbledon where his family live
  7. What's bizzare for me is that I asked a question here about 14 months or so ago which roughly went "how in touch with the club do you feel" and basically people said that they felt more connected to the club than at any time in recent years And when MON was in charge I felt like that, a community feel, we were all pulling in the right direction and understood what the club was aiming to achieve. Now, I'm completely lost and find myself discussing the same points with friends over and over again. Why buy Bent for £18m then sell your two wingers 6 months later? Why hire a manager with a appalling record - especially when there was such outrage from the fans? Something has gone drastically wrong, and unfortunately the fans are pretty powerless to change things.
  8. What I find most depressing is that I love this club so much, but I hold so little power over it. It's a bizarre feeling.
  9. Dont shoot the messenger, but I have heard from a good source that the QPR rumours aren't false. With him going for £15m-16m either in Jan or the summer.
  10. I attended the funeral which was a incredibly moving ceremony. Paddy had many many friends, he will be missed.
  11. One of my close school friends when I was younger. Top guy with a great family. RIP
  12. Hi General, You guys have barely put a foot wrong in your tenure at this club, the club that I loved for 20yrs. Unfortunately you are about to make a mistake, a mistake that will go down in history. Us, the fans are voicing our concerns and giving you a chance to rectify it before its too late. Im worried about the harm it will do to the fan base and infastructure (let alone any decent players running a mile from our club as the pressure is set to be sky high). And why? Why him? Is he really that special 'The Special One' - Really? Facts lead me to think otherwise.... I feel let down today, and for the first time in a long time, I don't feel proud to be a Villa fan. Thanks LCI
  13. Because the antenna doesnt work properly? iphone 4 case program fixes that and protects your phone if your drop it. Over 3 million people have purchased an iphone4, including myself and at no time did I think it was a 'risky' purchase.
  14. Why did you think buying an iphone 4 would be risky? In my opinion I would take the phone back as signing a 2 year contact on a 3GS is mental, by 2012 they will be an ancient piece of hardware.
  15. The battery isn't great if you use the phone on 3g a lot. Through heavy use of apps/3g you will probably have to charge the battery whilst you are sleeping.
  16. I don't know whether you have an iphone, but so far after 5hrs of being on the phone, my signal is yet to drop and im left handed. All the people I have met with iphone4 are yet to have a problem either. So whether we are lucky or its a media fire storm I wouldn't like to say but to say the phone doesnt work properly without the bumper is incorrect.
  17. I have a Mac which I love so I thought I would get myself an iphone as well and I must say im seriously impressed. The apps are what make the phone so good, browsing the internet is easy, the ipod is as good as ever and everything else around it is great. I haven't had any problems with the Antenna either. I spend time on tubes/trains so it's great that I always have something to do from an IQ test/mindless game/learning a new language or just listening to my ipod. Shazam and the tube map are just great! This phone is fantastic.
  18. Nail and head. Think how many more people would be happy and you can celebrate with if England win the World Cup. It would mean so much to the whole nation and thats what counts more.
  19. Just like they did with Heskey,Harewood etc? It's only when they write about real quality players they fail Well as we get linked to every player under the sun, they are bound to get one right...if I was a journo, I would be embarrassed about how much I get wrong. I think the majority of people thought Heskey was going to be a good signing - that speculation lasted for weeks and weeks. Harewood - From what I recall, there was little written speculation up to that signing and came out of nowhere. I think its fair enough to get wound up when we officially bid for a player that you don't like, but until then just read it all in jest....because otherwise you are going to spend the whole Summer pissed off that we are signing Jermain Beckford.
  20. Same shit, different year. People never seem to learn and get ridiculously wound up by something that is written in the Daily Bastard.
