  1. West Ham were hungry tonight, we weren't and haven't been for a while. The examples of Carlton Cole and Zavon Hines sums it up perfectly. They both had so much energy and were keen through out [until cole got injured] and were exciting to watch and I was worried everytime the ball was near Hines. Carew and Heskey were poor and lacked movement and general interest and I am starting to get really annoyed with the lack of effort from both of them. I also believe that O'Neill is determined for 442 to work home and away as he is reluctant to leave Heskey and Carew unhappy, we are paying for this. 451 has worked effectively and in the last two games its been the time to play it and leave 442 for the home games. Sidwell is seeming to be ineffective and since the Wolves game, his days have been numbered and he needs to be dropped. We look stale and predictable and completely devoid of ideas, time for a few changes and no better place to start than a home game against Bolton
  2. Several people have posted with Delph and Albrighton together in the starting team. Never going to happen. I do enjoy the talk of Albrighton, but have we been given any indication recently that O'Neill will start him in a game? No There is more chance of Gabby/Heskey starting out wide tonight than Albrighton starting.
  3. If they only have got one point since the opening day of the season, wouldn't they be on four points? Also Chelsea have some of the worlds best players, we don't. Its a very unfair comparison. Tomorrow will be tough, just look at there last home game for proof.
  4. I have no doubt that we will score. There defence is poor, especially with Spector at RB. Tomkins has played too many games for someone of his age. Noble has under performed this season as well. Parker could out run Stan in the midfield. I am worried that Cole could cause problems with Dunne, Cole has been fantastic in the last 12 months. A really interesting game ahead of us, a must not lose as well.
  5. Good to see Carew has been dropped, he has been poor. Annoyed about Everton so called injury crisis all week....all magically recovered for today !
  6. When are you going to reveal the answer to us? Im intrigued !
  7. So you are dropping Friedel when he is about to get 200 consecutive Premiership appearances?
  8. Guzan Bouma L.Young Collins Dunne Reo-Coker Delph Milner Albrighton Carew Heskey Villa win 3-2
  9. I understand that Carew and Young have been very poor, however the way forward is not Albrighton and Delfouenso. Throwing them in at the deep end is not right, especially when we look back to how Delph played against Wigan. They aren't the kids of Man Utd im afraid.
  10. Just seen Requiem for a dream, brilliant film
  11. I eagerly await your submission to the front page. I feel like I have just touched a nerve, it was a mere observation on my behalf. I have read this site for quite a few years now, prior to becoming a contributor. What first brought me to this site was the quality of the front page articles;no bias, well written and informative pieces. Also, due to work commitments I went through a period of missing some of the games and the match reports on here were always excellent and told it how it was and gave me an insight to the game. However the article written by AVFC-Bristol 'Those stories that just won't go away right now... ' I thought was poor. It was a article merely commenting on mindless speculation from the Daily Star. The writer also recommended the reader a possible new signing and pointed in the direction of youtube! But if you can't take criticism and turn to a childish comment, fair enough.
  12. The standard of Front Page articles has really dropped recently on this site and unfortunately this is another. You have painted a fantastic picture at Villa Park, and quite frankly at the moment we are not quite there. MON has done a really good job but not as good as you make out. Your viewpoint is very one dimensional and slanted, even though you have analysed the players it's not impartial in the slightest. I like to see myself as a realistic Villa fan that sees things how they, you do make some good points but just completely neglect that anything is wrong which derives the article of quality. I have picked out a few crackers: 'Martin O'Neill has been rebuilding David O'Leary's squad from scratch' - From scratch implies everything new. The previous article written by Trent underlines our losses in Bouma and Laursen who were already at the club when MON got here. Barry, arguably our best player was also here, as was the emergence of Agbonlahor. You can tell me MON got the best out of them and you are right but your sentence doesn't state that, you later on point that out but still go back to Bouma and Laursen being key. DOL was crap, but credit where credit is due. 'Curtis Davies £10m, for a young defender with a very bright future' He might have a bright future, he has shown glimpses of it. But £10 million seems £5 million too much at this present time. You even highlight yourself that he needed Laursen. 'Nigel Reo-Coker £8.5 million'- You try your hardest to justify this, but you even start by saying he hasn't played ! He is not worth £8.5 million, if we sold him now it would be closer to £5million 'Other purchases, such as Sidwell and Salifou in particular, have been criticised as being pointless considering they don't play, but for me this argument has no credence to it.' We don't have the luxury to spend £5 million on a player such as Sidwell for 'backup'. I think most people here agree that he was brought to replace Barry last year. Have I completely missed it - or have you not mentioned £7.8 million Carlos Cuellar? I just want the article to have a more down the line point of view, your article has good points but it would have come across a lot better IMO if you included some of the points that I made. This piece in the message board is fine, but as front page article for this website? Not quite.
  13. Hasn't O'Neill recently come out and said that Carew won't be leaving?
  14. There is nothing analytical here, you are just describing what you have read in a red top. You are just commenting on pure speculation. The journalists have obviously got to you. If any of this comes true, then write an article about it expressing your concerns, but as a reader I think you have just wasted your time telling me something I already know.
  15. 100% England all the way. I know the people who put choice 3 wouldn't even dream of jumping on the bandwagon next Summer.
  16. I would probably call it a night if I were you. You are embarassing yourself and people won't read future comments written by you if you keep talking like this.
  17. I don't know how old you are, but some of your comments in this thread have made you look like a petulant school child.
  18. Barry everyday of week. Petrov is flavour of the month but Barry is the better footballer.
  19. No transfer questions and that applies to past transfers as well as future ones
