today should be about passing and pace, they are slow at the back compaired to most teams. gabby for heskey is a no brainer, heskey has piled on the weight and looks awful. i would like to see downing on his corect side and ashley young on the right, it will cause problems for shorey if he plays as we can play it quickly behind him, having downing on the right may well slow it down to shoreys pace in which case he then becomes a decent defender. i would be tempted to go with 3 across the middle of petrov nrc and makoun with petrov holding behind the other 2 so he can either pass it short or clip it over, i think he would be better than nrc at that and also link up fom defence. it leaves the 2 who can run all day in the middle to support up front and support at the back, which should hopefully keep petrov from getting kncackered out after 60 minutes. so either a 4-4-2 with gabby and benty or a 4-5-1 with benty on his todd. we always seem to lose when teams play 3 accross the middle as we dont seem able to adjust. 3 points today though with benty popping in a couple and either downing or gabby popping one in , i can see them getting 1 or 2 goals themselves so a 3- 2 win for villa is my guess.

collins won 1 header against jones today, it was a corner in the first half when they had 5 corners in a row. he lost just about every other one. he also needlessly booted the ball 50 yards to stoke or out of play a very minimum of 15 times whith no pressure on him and options all around him. today he was wank. heskey was not even there, his name was down as being on the pitch and all that but i didnt see him all game and im sure that was the easiest game ever for their defender who was told before kick off to look after heskey. he also has about 2 stone tucked under his shirt he didnt have in january.

we need to be playing quick football, push and run down the sides, the only 2 times we did it, downing gained a free kick and the other time we scored. if collins is not going to win a header all game against jones, recognise it and tell petrov or NRC to drop in front of jones so he either flicks it on to no one or trys to control it which should be easier for the midfielder to get the 2nd ball. oh and for **** sake collins, stop trying your crap hollywood balls, i have counted 9, every one gave posession back to stoke. on the floor down the wings and we should get another couple goals. a quick message for heskey.. today mate you are shit, really. take heskey off for gabby and keep 2 up front, it also reduces the chance of us hoofing it which is what happened for 35 mins in that half.

i have fixed my ps3 ylod 2 times through the factory reset mode of hold the power button till the ps3 powers on and powers off again then immediately hold the power button again until it makes 2 beeps together after a first beep. that is meant to force the ps3 into safe mode this may help some people, there is another way which involves altering the pup files but is more complex.

I've been wanting him since he left Charlton, but when he went to Sunderland I thought we'd never get him. What a wonderful bolt out of the blue that was. there were lots of us in 2007 crying out for him, it is in the hall of fame thread for MON's first transfer window 2 times he could have signed him at chorlton although we were probably priced out of it, and blunderland. we have him now though. lets hope we can keep him fit and firing on all cylinders

i think we will see plenty more of delph next year, with the likes of petrov and NRC and young all possibly leaving, the problem is where to put him, we either play 1 up front and have delph in as the play maker ( which i would like to see, someone who can tackle and win the ball for himself in an advanced position) or as a box to box player, but we have that in makoun, so either one will have to change position or they both wont start in the same side. it seems clear to me that GH rates him also, didnt he sign a new contract?

i used to work in coventry and had no idea of their hatred for us. mind you i will always remember the shittest game i had the misfortune of seeing, it was villa v coventry at coventry in their shit ground. it was expensive and we scored from a corner after about 2 minutes ( i think it was dwight yorke but it could have been fash the gash). that was the most exciting the game got, a game of hoof ball by both sides ensued throughout the game. the only other thing of interest in that game was at half time a villa fan ran on the pitch where nigel spink was warming up and after immitating the coventry cheerleaders ( who were very tidy) the chap ran over and took a penalty against spinky. then spinky put the ball down to take one against the chap but took a HUUUUge run up and the chap ran away. very funny.

a more team spirited display and it resulted in a win no one was outstanding, i was suprised makoun was brought off for NRC though, i though petrov would be the one to give way, he looked shattered. also suprised pires got in instead of alby, im sure alby would have done more to stretch them and also keep them on the back foot as he is far faster than pires. several things should have been better however a win is 3 points, the same amount newcastle got for bum raping us by 6 goals so dont really care too much a big note. the ref was **** terrible today, i really mean proper terrible. a clear penalty, a goal disallowed, several corners not given and lots of challenges where newcastle players were just given a little talking to by the ref. oh and good on petrov who i though didnt have a great game, for taking out that tw@ barton after the ref again didnt award a foul well done boys, we need 3 more wins to be safe
