  1. Obviously, it is hard to play against a team that parks the bus, but it was our speed of movement early on that did for them and then we slowed down. A draw against this lot would be a travesty, they are utter wank.
  2. Including you about the fun people are having speculating. If there's one thing I would advise Zaniolo to bet on it's that. Nothing more certain. You are already at it and it's not even November yet!
  3. Nobody can, nor are they trying to stop you from having an opinion, Mr Kiwi. I just feel you should be less absolute in your dismissal of Bryan's all round game relative to our current crop. Also, if those are his stats for this season, they are actually pretty good, but last season was also impressive, as this quote shows... Only strike partner Ivan Toney and Leicester's James Maddison have recorded a higher goal contribution tally for teams outside the top eight than Bryan Mbeumo this season. The Frenchman is outshone by his excellent team-mate but manager Thomas Frank certainly does not undervalue him, handing him the fifth-most minutes of any Brentford outfielder. I'm not alone in considering him to be an underated talent. You have made a rash assessment, I fear.
  4. It has to be said, your posts do often project an irritating, reductive, absolute certainty regarding the reasons why things happen, or are the way they are. For example, 'he is no better than any player we already have (even outside of the starting XI)', as supported by the fact that 'most of his goals come from penalties'. Why make a reductive statement like that without also allowing for consideration of Bryan's recent development in a new role leading the line at Brentford? What about his devastating pace, lethal finishing and tenacious press, all of which have been on show in Toney's absence? These factors, could in different ways, either be slowing down or speeding up his progress, but you haven't considered them at all, instead, you have just decided he's no better. The truth, in my opinion, is that he is a good player, probably somewhat underated, who is now coming into his own and growing in confidence. A bit of a hidden gem and late developer, if you like. We picked up Watkins from the same club after he went through a similar transformation and there were question marks about him when we did. For some, those question marks still exist because he isn't the finished article, but Villa can't buy that type of player yet, we have to take a punt on talented players we think can be developed by our excellent manager and Mr Mbuemo fits into that category. He may not be any better than our first XI forward players, but he could be and he could/probably already is better than Traore, for example. so he shouldn't be dismissed in a cock sure way. On a lighter note, here's some other rather endearing stuff about Bryan that might persuade you he'd be a lovely fella to have around at the Villa... Growing up, Bryan supported Lyon. His favourite footballer is Eden Hazard. His inspiration is his parents. If he had not become a professional footballer, Bryan's dream job would be a gamer or an actor. Outside of football, Bryan enjoys video games and drawing. His favourite genre of music is French rap. Bryan also plays Call of Duty, and FIFA, and on FIFA he plays as France! His favourite TV show and film are Catch Me If You Can and My Wife and Kids. Bryan can also play piano and paint! In the future, Bryan would like to go to an island paradise.
  5. I'm not sure he walked round Torres, it looks like he ran past him to me. Are you exaggerating?
  6. We are in Fethiye - already told her the boat trip will have to happen tomorrow. Plenty of Villa shirts on display here.
  7. Can't watch, virtually no internet where I am. Those who said we did enough business in the summer were wrong.
  8. Want to be wrong, but suspect a loss. Score first and we have a very good chance, go behind and it will be pretty unlikely. 1-2.
  9. "You have to move on quick, thinking of Brighton in the Premier League, which is very very important, trying to keep the same structure, as we have been doing tactically, but today we broke it". Does he mean the players broke the tactical structure, or he did? To me, it sounds like he's implying/admitting the second string players can't do what he wants them to do. Last year, he got so much improvement out of our first team, but the same impact has not been evident with the the fringe players this year and that failure has the potential to undermine our collective aims. So, if that is correct, who is to blame? In the end, probably nobody, or more accurately everyone, a bit... Bad luck with the injuries because the players out of contention gave us heart, not enough quality bought in the summer, reserve players representing too big a drop. Promising youth sold to balance the books = thin on options. Hope we go on to do great things in lots of competitions this year, but I think there are too many question marks for that to be likely now.
  10. I agree. Plenty were saying we had enough quality, but I don't see that at all.
  11. Utterly pathetic. Worse than some of the Championship dross. But, I am honestly glad we are out, we just do not have the squad needed to compete in every competition. I know that's what Emery said he wanted before the season started, but we just don't.
  12. He was pretty bad. Dendoncker has all the mobility of a diplodocus with a broken leg
  13. Utter wank. I know we have to make changes, but the fact is we are a lot weaker when we do. We just don't have enough good players, at the moment, simple as that. Problem is, that could mean we end up not doing particularly well in anything. Last year was all about unity, a small number of players and a single focus. This year, we have lost several key first teamers and a fair few (probably most), of the back up players clearly aren't adequate replacements. Sure, we might still turn this game around, but there's plenty to worry about. We are being outplayed by Everton on our own ground.
