  1. Lacklustre. Half arsed. This one currently has the feel of the first game against them with all the changes disrupting the flow. And yes, I know we have to make changes to rest players, blah blah, but it could/currently is costing us top spot. Need to be better in the second half. Anything less than a win would be very disappointing.
  2. Shit first half, lucky to still be in it, excellent second half and a sexy as **** result! Welcome to Aston Villa Youri, it means more here. Well played lads.
  3. Their goal was the same as the Plop goal at Anfield earlier this season. Corner swings out to the edge of the box and one of their best strikers of the ball smacks it sweetly towards the goal. Why weren't our defence out towards Lo Celso closing him down? By the time it reaches any Villa player it's basically in the net.
  4. Great goal, as was the first disallowed one, but overall we are lucky to be in this, let alone level. Too **** slow.
  5. Wank Villa pace, wank refereeing, wank Cash performance, just wank.
  6. Whilst making comparisons with Ron's team, I watched the whole of the Rotterdam orgasm back this morning - see below if anyone fancies it - and it is as I remember it on the day. Lots of helter skelter, commited football, with some decent flashes of skill, but essentially Bayern were the better team on the day and quite unlucky to lose. The main difference between now and then is the ability of the players today to keep hold of the ball and make good use of it. The number of fouls, stemming from poor control back then was extraordinary. The run to the final produced some great nights but our team today is a joy to watch at times and that is thanks almost entirely to Unai.
  7. Weird how this guy earns a Premier League living and plays for his country. In my opinion, there is no validity to the 'It's virtually impossible to find a good backup keeper' argument. I get that it's difficult, but it can't be Robin Olsen level difficult. We've certainly had talented young keepers in the past, so surely we should be churning them out, or at least signing them up as we have done with young talent in other positions. Gotta be better than waiting for the Olsen rick. Robin Olsen is not the answer to any goalkeeping related question, apart from 'who should you play in goal if you want to give the opposition hope by spooking your own defence'? He sticks out as a weak link like a massive sore
  8. It's not concerning, it's a reality and annoying as ****. they have deserved to lose plenty of the games they have won late recently. Yes, they could still turn it around and become good, but in my opinion, that is unlikely and yes, I have included a potential new manager bounce.
  9. Just those fixtures. Definitely more, if Bournemouth included. In that case, at least 3 points, potentially six, four, very good.
  10. Obviously, that is statistically accurate. I was hinting at my view of a positive/realistic outcome. 2 points or three and we will have done well, imo.
  11. We almost certainly will. However, would say we can get at least two points, possibly three. Anything more, would be massive!
  12. At home, yes. We are not invulnerable though, particularly recently. Not moaning in the slightest, we have been excellent, just saying we have to be on it, not much margin for error. Let's hope we can keep it up - signs are mostly very good.
  13. I love Matty, his energy and commitment in all aspects of the game are enough to get him in our team as a first team regular most weeks, but he probably isn't the brightest lad, not unlike lots of footballers, to be fair! You could well be right re: concentration - that said, he was mostly excellent today, so it was a stern test that he basically won, the goal aside. Small margins, I guess. Up the Matty!
  14. Another very good result, well done Villa. That said, we should have been out of sight, but weren't due to a mix of bad luck and bad finishing. Fulham looked busy second half and there were periods of us being sloppy/not as sharp. If we can cut out the mistakes and make better decisions, we will make top five - that is still in the balance atm, though. McGinn, utterly sublime, Tielemans, another excellent performance. Liked the look of our midfield today, also well played Bailey - another meaningful contribution. Cash also had an excellent first half, but he is consistently the man that plays the attackers on for the goals we concede. Overall, again, excellent.
  15. After the results today, we have to win to keep the momentum going and the pressure up on those around us. Think we will, especially if we get the early goal. C'mon you Villa boys!
  16. Scraped it. Thank you Dougie. We need more urgency AND to be more accurate in our final third passing.
