  1. How can you possibly say that. If I heard a conversation at a station on the way to work, where perhaps someone was offering cash in hand for work, Or heard a conversation between groups of people talking about such things and passed that info on. Well wouldn't that be the first place to start. If you think about it, public places would be where info is first heard or seen. The work or home would be the last place I would have thought
  2. I would agree with most you say, apart from the last paragraph. Surely the people who have made the allocations in the first place realise what they need in housing stock, so a reevaluation would not be too difficult I would have thought. Then a certain amount of putting people in the right size accommodation, then build what your need. I'm not suggesting you get it better than 70% accurate. If you don't follow some process what would you consider a satisfactory outcome. I follow your analogy but I think maybe you want an evening class in mechanics, sorry its full, you can wait till the next course or there is one in the next village/town available.
  3. No can't agree with that Peter, Surely a Government or Local Authority has to look at it's housing stock first, then make the best fit it can before building more. Any other way seems illogical
  4. seems like nice work if you can get it, get paid for a job then go and do something else
  5. But Surely just 2 pages back you were discussing with Awol about his non attendance at westminster. I'm sure you raised the point that his constituents like him, and AWOL'S point being his non attendance. Now If I am correct his non attendance came about after he joined the back benches. which was post 2010 election. That being the case, no one knows what his constituents think of him. The Stephen Ireland analogy was merely that one day prior to Guzan getting pots, we must have thought he was the best player at the club, because we hadn't voted since
  6. I don't think there is any evidence to suggest they are unhappy with him, but nor is there any evidence to suggest they are happy either. The discussion seems to be about his rare appearances at Westminster. This came about after the last chance to vote. Its a bit like saying Stephen Ireland was player of the year 2 years ago so we must all still be really happy with him
  7. So what price do Spurs fans expect to get for Bale when they sell him next summer? Well I reckon as he's scored more Goals than Benteke, well 2 or 3 anyway, And he's had a bit more experience, but against that he hasn't played in a foreign league and he might not settle.(if you think about Modric he was their best player a couple of years ago and he's not a regular), So if they rate Benteke at £15m I reckon £18 or £19 should be about right, maybe £20m to get the deal done 20m for Bale? I thought you guys were asking for 80m!? I'm a Villa man through and through. I was just thinking about the spurs logic of Benteke being only worth £15m

  9. but only responding to you when you said about the secret donors etc
  10. I don't follow, he said Labout RIP if I recall. What was he supposed to say, he made no made reference to finance
  11. I don't think he mentioned finance at all. I understood the point he was making was the link between new labour and the unions. And the alleged vote rigging. Whilst I don't think that will be the end of New Labour, I don't think it will help their cause. Along with big business there seems to be a mistrust of unions in this country.
  12. it often amazes me how thick some people are,
  13. I can't work out if this is aah but Tories or just deflection. After we debate for several pages about George Osborne eating a burger, raising a point about something which is even on the front page of the Guardian is classed as attempting to shift scrutiny
  14. i think I agree with this. There is no way he should not even make the bench. As for the welsh contingent, Had Wales run away with the 6 nations perhaps then he had a point, but I don't think they were that better than the others
  15. Second this. Wes we really appreciate your input.
  16. when I worked in the ole US of A a good friend told me the Bronx was the only place in the World beginning with THE. Should have seen his face when I asked if that had been ratified in the Hague
  17. used to have a Saturday job in a Supermarket. I worked on the fruit and veg. Saturday afternoon early evening me and another lad, our job was to clean everything down while still weighing up customers stuff. This was the days before Sunday opening. Anyway some customer wanted half a melon, but we had none left, although we had plenty of whole Melons. This was a bit of a pain as we'd already cleaned down the prep room. Just then the manager appeared as my mate was trying to talk this customer out of it. He spied the manager some 20 feet away. He nipped over to him and said Some clearing in the woods wants half a melon. He didn't know the Lady had followed him and was stood right at his side. He looked in horror when he saw her, then quick as a flash said, and this lady would like the other half.
  18. yes, but all we really have now is what the Mail on one side and the Guardian on the other report,
  19. No one in particular. Just an observation on the last few pages, where Awol suggested a CBA was useful, then a couple of pages of to and fro. I agree with your point, that everything is not a simple choice of in or out and the balance of trade can't just be measured in merc's. So some analysis of the pro's and cons might be needed
  20. Isn't that what Awol was suggesting all along ? A cost benefit analysis
  21. You seem to have missed the point entirely. Sorry, could you explain it please.
