  1. I've just started training for the Birmingham Half Marathon in October, starting to eat a lot more healthier and been for a run or two but even with sufficient warm ups and warm downs I'm still finding it a strain on my calfs and hamstrings if I do anything more than 2-3 miles. I've never done any running before in my life really apart from when I used to play football about 5 years ago and during P.E at school but since then I've never thought twice about it. Any tips on what to eat / how to train more efficiently? I want to be running 15-20 miles in one run by the time the marathon comes around as it's 13.1 miles.
  2. Bradley is only on the bench so he can have a chance to prove himself for a permanent contract now we are 'safe'
  3. Well, Houllier and Moyes are really good friends. Before Houllier took the Villa job on, he told Moyes to sign Gueye.
  4. I can tell you something now - MON will NEVER go to Everton. 80% of their fanbase hate the man, it would not go down well. If Moyes comes to us then expect them to get Mcleish.
  5. Like I say I've got a HTC Desire and it's ok, but I'm really bored of it. For when I need to be texting and emailing on the go it's not very good as I don't like using a touch screen, not very professional. I much prefer the qwerty on the Blackberry over the HTC touch screen. I also like bbm, can't be arsed with all of this new 'liveprofile' crap, it's basically the new pingchat, which was also shit. We'll see how it is anyway, my mates got one for his work phone and he likes it so we'll see. I'll be using the Blackberry for work and business mainly.
  6. Hi General, Just some feedback on the official HTC app. It's incredibly slow. I know this may be teething problems or due to a lot of downloads but it made me uninstall it straight away alongside a few other things. It also takes up 14MB of internal phone memory with no option to move it to SD. To put this into perspective most other apps i.e. Facebook, Twitter etc are around 1MB each, so why 14MB for the Villa one - with no option to move to memory card? It will put a lot of people off. Another thing. Why is it free on HTC, £2.99 on iPhone and £4.99 on Blackberry? I have all three operating systems and if you have to pay for it then I expect something like free AVTV subscription in return not some pictures which I can easily get off the internet for free anyway... That's all. Hope GH is recovering quick! Cheers
  7. I don't think it's the phone's fault, more phones4u's fault for poor packaging! Never had problems with Blackberry before, although I currently have a HTC Desire which I'm bored of. I've just placed a new order of the Blackberry Torch - anyone got one?
  8. Ordered a new blackberry from phones4u last Wednesday, was meant to come yesterday, didn't arrive (waited in all day for it so I'm already annoyed) arrived today at 9.30am, OK, but it doesn't charge and the screen has a crack in it. Fcking annoyed to say the least. So now I've got to send it back and go and order a new phone, waiting even longer
  9. I can't see why people think Darren Bent will leave at the end of this season... he has repeatedly said Villa "are in a false position" and explained how we should be back up the top, which we will be next season... it would be madness to move to a club in said false position for 19m only to leave 6 months later..
  10. I got paid a day early because of the bank holiday? But I hate bank holidays because I'm waiting for my new phone to arrive and it still isn't here when I ordered it on Wednesday evening..
  11. Hi General, At half time it is a complete nightmare getting internet signal or even mobile signal, have the club thought about installing a wifi system where you can pay a set amount for the season to use the wifi at the ground every game, say £10? I'd definitely pay for that. How about approaching network providers to install small signal masts around the ground to cope with demand? 35,000 people trying to get on their phone means all my texts come through 2 hours later when I'm back in the city centre! Also, any more on my cash point suggestion from a while back? Thanks
  12. You've made 30 odd posts on the site since the thread opened. So if there is a reason, feel free to share. Wow 30 posts.. compare it to how many times I used to post previously.. it's this little thing called a busier job
  13. Ha, actually, no, please read the first line in my post... there is a reason why I don't post as much on here anymore.
  14. I don't think it's disrespectful at all. I'm relatively pro houllier. And if he recovers and stays on I'll have no problem with it. However, even if (and when, hopefully) he fully recovers I think it's a very likely scenario that Houllier will call it a day for management. It;s not like we're saying "Houllier's definitely going to pop his clogs, who shall we replace him with" The fact is that Houllier having managed his last Aston Villa game is a very likely scenario, even though he will likely make a full recovery. Discussing who we think will take over if this likely scenario occurs is in no way disrespectful, just a little presumptuous at worst. Yes I understand that but this thread was going on for quite a while before he got taken ill... infact quite a few months... that's why I said 'Meant to post this a while ago but was busy'. At which point Houllier was getting the dreaded vote of confidence, and it wasn't looking unlikely that he could be sacked. Is it disrespectful to discuss who we could replace Young with in the Summer when he's likely to leave? No because it's a different situation, Young hasn't signed a new contract and we had been in a dangerous position in the table. Houllier on the other hand wasn't going to leave any time soon, up until this illness, which may put that in doubt if he doesn't fully recover.. The only way I think this thread would not be disrespectful was if Houllier had said he was leaving. But he hasn't. And he's not (unless he doesn't recover fully).

  16. Meant to post this a while ago but was busy - In all honesty I think this thread is completely disrespectful to the current manager. Yes we haven't done great and he's disrespected us as fans but at the end of the day he is our manager so why talk about our next manager as if it's an inevitable outcome? We've improved and if Houllier's health improves he'll be with us through Summer and into next season.
  17. Think Ireland next to Milner would have been good but unfortunately he was his replacement.
  18. It's just the same in every city though. Every jealous club that has nowhere near the amount of success the biggest team in the city has had will always hate them. Even if they are 40 odd miles away.
  19. It's not. If we drew them away in a cup or something I'd class it as a cheaper away day. The same way that Stoke isn't one but media still call it one.
  20. Richard Kingson, Scott Carson, Wojciech Szczesny, Paul Robinson...
  21. friedel was worse also, i can't wait until he retires, he's the worst keeper in the league by a country mile It's blatently obvious how much of a wind up you are on! Give it a rest.
  22. I'm L4 row MM and it's a great view. One of the best in the stadium.
  23. Basically, this The only way we will get rid of GH is if next season is identical to this one. And actually - you know what, it will be quite funny because IMO I think we will stay up, and next season will be successful with us getting a top six finish and a nice cup run - maybe even a win. Everyone wanted Ferguson out after 3 years of winning nothing with Man Utd, football fans are too hasty nowadays and too quick to point the blame on one person... if we stay up (god I never thought I'd be saying that) then next season will be 100 times better than this one
