  1. they are some of the best in the US right now. IMO I thnk we'll be OK. the center used to call things really tight early in hpes of keeping the match easy.
  2. oh, i created a whole novel out of it. It involves her unaccepting parents and a special feature of your anatomy. and an nazi submarine. any truth in it?
  3. the problem UE nees to solve is that Mings, Pau, and Carlos all prefer the left back postion. Konsa is the weakest of the backs in forward passing... so for me, it's whocan make the shift to the left will be in the strongest position for most starts.
  4. thanks Pie, may I call you Pie for short? anyway most matches start between 6 and 9 am in Texas which is not nearly the sacrifice that other internationals face, but I am realizing that it's different when a 6 pm start will allow you to start on the EToH early. I don't terribly mind the 6 am ko as i am generally up before then for work, but the incredible joy of being able to be start the match more than a bit under the influence, cannot be underestimated. If I, at some point in this, comment on how I love you all, please understand it's the Jameson and Scotch and Rum talking. VTID
  5. "that's not the voice of Mark Bright" you are welcome. -- TBH i have no idea what voice you are talking about.
  6. i am so happy to be in an active match thread after what seems like years of transfer speculation nonsense. cant wait for this one to get underway UTV
  7. glad i'm not watching. he should be criminally charged fo impersonating a footballer
  8. i thougth harry wilson looked good. neither team was prepared for the heat. i don[t give a damn about half-speed fulham and brentford so my wife was happy when I agreed to watch Dr. Blake (australian police surgeion - really good show) i'll turn back in to peacock to watch the only team in world football that really matters enough to keep my interest these days. really looking forward to seeing philogen for myself and carlos and Torres. and actually kessler.
  9. a whole bunch at mostly prescribed times (just learned that from watching a bit of brentford fulham when the teams could only do 4 subs at half time but others at other times
  10. I would expect at least 2 kids swapped in there.
  11. nobody in yet? Unai out! Seriously, I'm tired of checking and finding nothing but rumors and possibilities. GIVE ME SOME NEWS !!!!!!!
  12. So, if players choose PSG (or other uefa constants) over us, I think that just means we have responsibility to improve and succeed such that in a year or so they are kicking themselves for being short-sighted. Simple.
  13. you are understating the concern. he has not won a match since LAST SEASON !!!
  14. Ah, the old "every discussion on VT must have some reasonable basis in reality" error. New here?
  15. i'll bet Tottenham and Brentford and Chelsea are all thinking. "Whew! bullet well and truly dodged. We almost found ourselves in that pathetic and insignificant conference league." Tottenham and Brentford weren't celebrating their own wins on the final day, they were celebrating because we won and spared them the indignity.
  16. there is a code. the code is that anyone with two "o" s in their "name" cannot be trusted. Bet you wish you had known that one sooner.
  17. i think it's a lot less likely to have any player's head turned by another club. The UE project seems to be working well for everyone. They will be enjoying their play, learning, getting better, and that's just plain fun. And you can tell yourself that your value is only going up right now, so keep investing in the improvement under the maestro. at least that's my theory.
  18. You don't think Tottenham sees an asian market advantage to Son ? Of course marketing and fanbase considerations should come to bear ! Not the only factor or course. But It as after all a business, with the intent of making a profit. winning does that, but so does marketing and merchandise sales and market share.
  19. as an american, I would love us to have at least one american on our roster. McKennie might be the best option toward that goal. Who would you think is the closest? We probably have a keeper that could serve as backup to Martinez.
  20. Marvelous was one of the best we have had in the last 20 years at reading the movement of the opposition and moving to the right place to cut ot their options. I bet his number of intercepted passes was huge... the problem always was, he had trouble finding the open man once he got the ball. I always thought he had fantastic potential. But a lower tier is probably the best place to learn that. (Kamara is the second best at reading the opposition and then is much better with possession) All IMO of course.
  21. i love his passion and tenacity. He has the courage to try the audacious and the skill to pull it off with as much consistency as anyone. If UE can instill some discipline into the mix, we should keep him. If not, we should (with sadness) sell him.
  22. criticizing fellow villa fans, though. that's always open season.
