  1. "The right man" would appear to be someone who is willing to join a club after the transfer window has closed, and thus cannot bring in any of their own players. Sure saves the club money in the short term.
  2. To the Addams Family. He came from spending City, To win himself a trophy, Our superman he will be, He's Villa's Stevie I.
  3. That is pretty reasonable. But from my perspective (and don't think I'm trying to justify it, I know you're not launching an attack on fans), I was working on Thursday until 5:30, so I would have had 15 minutes to get to the airport, get a flight, and get to the stadium. Add onto that the fact that I've got to book £450 flights to Florida on payday as I'm going to a festival there in October, it's not affordable to also go to Austria. I think most people are in similar financial situations. This sort of time, when people go on summer holidays, and in the run up to Christmas, most people have pretty much no money. If we've got any European away days after Christmas, expect the support to start increasing.
  4. A) Money. Summer holidays. Most people have already made trips away, or have booked for the next couple of weeks. C) Money. D) Money.
  5. I'm ITK. MacDonald will still be caretaker manager by September 1st.
  6. Slaven Bilic looks like someone who sells people in Eastern Europe. And not in a "You're being transferred to Dinamo Zagreb" kind of way.
  7. Hi General, I know this question was asked a while back by another poster, but I think it must have got lost amongst the O'Neill nonsense (or I just couldn't be bothered to find the post and response ). I've just gone onto the online store to order the new shirts, and whilst trying to get our bright new superstar Albrighton on the back of the away kit, it seems his name is not listed on the website options. When you try and type in the name and number manually, it then adds the charge on because the free name and number offer only applies to the list. Could you pass on this information to the webstore people, so that it can be updated? I guarantee that more and more fans will be looking to get the future World Player Of The Year's name on their shirts before they are officially on sale.
  8. Complete tripe. For every one player that doesn't come back as strong as they were there are three that do. It's more rare for a player to not recover fully, Eduardo is the prime example but his problem, IMO, is psycholgical more than physical. He basically seemed to me to be scared of getting hurt. This. I broke my ankle standing on a ball to stop it, since then my brain literally stops me from controlling the ball like that. Recovery from a break, or an impact injury is tougher physchologically than anything else. Man up :winkold:
  9. Well we have got £16m to spend now. Worth a cheeky £2m bid.
  10. We do need cover at left-back, unless MacDonald thinks one of the youngsters is ready to step up. So far it's Luke Young and Lichaj, and they are both right-footed.
  11. Yeah, if this had to happen to anyone, then it's better that it wasn't someone who we really rely upon now. Either a youngster with time to recover, or an older player who's best days are behind them. Of course, I'd much rather none of our players get serious injuries. But it seems that's wishful thinking.
  12. My preferred starting attack in August 2011: ----------Delph--Petrov----- Albrighton--Ireland--Young ------------Huntelaar-------- As long as Petrov's legs haven't dissolved.

Martin Laursen.
  14. Exactly. That would be embarrassing. "I would love to have this job!" "You're not getting the job." "Oh...."
  15. Should have read the article before criticising. Goal.com outdoing themselves and actually getting direct quotes? How times are changing.
  16. Blues Man City Man Utd Arsenal Spurs Chelsea Liverpool Newcastle West Ham
  17. This for me. If/when a new manager arrives he will have 25 (more or less) new players he might like/not like, not just Ireland. And if Ireland had been wrapped up a week earlier, would it really have made any difference? Could Ireland's transfer, made at a time without a manager, be a big hint that MacDonald is a serious contender for the job? Surely Lerner would have asked MacDonald whether he would fit into the team/squad.
  18. The only financial reasons as to why we sold Barry and why we have pretty much sold Milner are that Man City can pay them ridiculous wages. Both players wanted to leave. Simple as that. If O'Neill couldn't accept that fact then he was in the wrong job.
  19. That's who we should get as manager!!! Stan Collymore!
  20. N'Zogbia? Does the fact that he forced himself out of both Newcastle and Wigan tell us something about his attitude? Don't want him near this club.
