  1. They're both at home too....and the first team are playing at home that weekend. Can't imagine the groundsman will like the pitch being played on Monday night, Wednesday night and Saturday afternoon much. I suppose they could move one / both of them to the Bescot if those dates are standing?
  2. Hi General, Any chance of an update on the number of tickets sold for the Boro game? Cheers.
  3. On the flipside General, I was in a box for the Utd cup game (already had a ticket, but was invited at the last minute and thought I'd spice up the expected defeat by getting the exec treatment) right behind the Man Utd fans in the lower Witton. I could see young lads in other boxes in both Villa and Man Utd shirts so maybe the rule doesn't apply to kids?
  4. Without wanting to answer for the General, the club is doing all it can by only selling to those with an existing booking history and only selling tickets from the main ticket office tomorrow as the article on the OS stated yesterday. As others have said, there's nothing the club can do if Villa fans are getting tickets for Utd fans in the home end. I have a feeling there will be a no nonsense approach this time round and if a gloryhunter makes themself known, they will be asked to leave instead of 'keep themself to themself'. At least that's what I hope will happen.
  5. I wouldn't worry about that too much, my mate had one and he said it was crap! A crap pie in Wigan, who'd have thought it?!?!
  6. I'm gonna watch the re run at 9am tomorrow morning.
  7. Anyone wanna tell me what difference 2 pounds in weight is gonna make?
  8. General, Something that came up on the Wigan away tickets thread - would it be possible for the tickets page on the official site to be updated every couple of days with the current number of tickets sold / left of our allocation? It's great that they now put what our initial allocation is (you got them to start doing this when I asked you about it several months ago!), but it would save people having to call the ticket office all of the time to see how many are left. Cheers.
  9. I know this isn't a discussion thread, but I use AVTV in firefox ok.....
  10. Whilst sitting in the car about to leave the car park at Blackburn on Wednesday night, a bloke and his kids walked past singing a song about Ashley Young, to the tune of Man Utd's Ronaldo song (I think Liverpool have one to the same tune and Utd might have even nicked it off em). If by any chance you are that guy, what are all the words? Something along the lines of, "he plays on the leeeeeeft he plays on the riiiiiight, Ashley Young, makes Ronaldo look shite." Sounded good anyway.
  11. Cheer up Alex McLeish doesn't quite roll off the tongue as well as Stevie Bruce
  12. He's hardly going to say anything else....
  13. There's a few posts on 606 (BBC Sport forum) from disgruntled Scots who can't understand why he'd go 'so low' to a club like SHA and how they aren't a big club, not even the biggest club in Brum
  14. You will when he starts talking about the colour of the shoes he is wearing instead of what's going on, on the pitch!
  15. I read the first couple of paragraphs and then looked at the source, which explained a lot.
  16. You say this all of the time General. Are you in fact a Jedi Knight? Ya know, like Yoda's sidekick?!
  17. General, I see the ticket details for the first couple of away games have appeared on the ticket page of the official site. There is no info of our allocations......please can we have this back! Cheers.
  18. Der der der, Nigel Reo-Coker Der der der, Nigel Reo-Coker etc. etc. To the tune of Spurzzzzz Didier Zakora and Arse's Kolo Toure.
  19. Yeah, that's pretty much me word for word, though I have been to church on the odd occasion as my grandparents (before they passed away) and my Dad's brother and his family are regular practicing christians.

    Smoking ban.

I said fairly early on in this thread that I really struggle to accept any arguments against the ban. Having read the whole thread from then until now, I haven't changed that opinion. Regardless of whether passive smoking has been proved to damage a person's health or not, the bottom line is this. Smokers have a choice whether to smoke or not, this ban doesn't take that choice away. What it does is even up the field for non smokers because before the ban, we don't have a choice whether or not someone is blowing smoke in our vicinity just because we want to visit the same pub as a smoker. Most people I know that smoke are at least considerate about it and move away from the area when smoking. It's the ignorant bastards that really piss me off!

    Smoking ban.

As a non smoker, I really struggle to accept any argument against the ban. I go over to Ireland quite a bit for work and you really do notice the difference when out and about in the evenings. I cannot wait for 1st July!
