  1. What a player, Moussa is. Fantastic ability, willing runner. Right now, he's too talented for those around him. Yesterday, Zaniolo should have played him in and then Bailey should've done the same. You see his frustrations with his teammates but, hopefully, the link-ups will come and then we'll see him scoring loads. His off-the-shoulder runs and brilliant.
  2. His work rate is unquestionable. His mentality is right. He's just unlucky a lot but, he's just not a natural goalscorer. If he was he would score bucket loads. Crosses flash across the 6 yard box and he's nowhere near them. His first touch is often not good enough. A lot of strikers score plenty of goals because their first touch puts them into the right position to get their shot off. For all the above, we need Ollie. Personally, I really think we would benefit from playing a natural striker and having Ollie playing wide left, where Zaniolo was yesterday.
  3. He was fantastic today. I think it's now time for Ezri to stand up and be the leading voice at the back with Mings on the sidelines.
  4. We'll said! I liked what I saw from Pau today in terms of character. He's clearly been brought in to play a certain way and although he was robbed, gave the ball away repeatedly and, had a torrid time, he still persisted in sticking to the game plan. He needs time to get used to our pace of play. He won't get the same amount of time in the ball here, especially against the better teams who use the high press. Once he strengthens up a bit and gets used to the pace he will be fine.
  5. This is the key. He knows he's up against a complete rookie in Duran and his only other competition (Archer) has gone out of the door. My only real criticism of our management team is that they didn't get Danjuma in. He's a unit, has experience of the league and, they managed him before. He would've really pushed Watkins.
  6. He's simply not doing enough to warrant a place at our club. I'm sure he's got ability but he looks like bambi on ice when he gets the ball far too often (first touch today) and you just cannot carry passengers if you want to be a successful team. He always looks low on confidence and any he had will be completely destroyed after being subbed today. But, who's fault is that? He was the one who couldn't control a ball. He couldn't chase back. He let a clear goalscoring chance go by when he allowed a ball to go across him. He needs to either grow a pair or look elsewhere where the pressure isn't too much for him.
  7. Villa fans singing God save the King to wind the scousers up
  8. He's been OK. Watkins and Bailey looked like they thought they were still playing Hibs. Time to drop Ollie and give him the kick up the arse he needs.
  9. He never looks like he has confidence though. Being subbed today will have destroyed even the imagination of being confident. Since he's been here he's not looked like he can handle the size of the club and what it wants to achieve. Doing that hippy-crack stuff during the season and constantly looking frail. He needs to go!
  10. Because Watkins and Bailey are too passive as forwards.
  11. Maybe put Zaniolo on for McGinn and see if he can get the ball on the turn and drive us forward?
  12. Torres is being over-confident if anything. A few times he lost the ball or overrun it but he keeps doing it. He will learn that the pace of the English game is much faster than that in La Liga and know when and where to do it.
  13. We are way off it today. You cannot go to Anfield and out in a half-hearted effort. Watkins was disgraceful for their second. He just stood and did nothing to stop TAA picking out a pass. So casual when the ball reaches him too. Bailey came on and looked like Bambi on ice first touch. Kamara playing slack passes but was unlucky to be booked when Nunez pretty much did the same to Konsa a minute earlier. Liverpool just want it more and are playing at a much higher tempo. Unai has a lot of work to do at half time. But, stay in it and who knows?
  14. Kellyman - Wellerman chant? There is a player called Omari, He plays for the famous A V F C, When he gets his head up And he puts his foot down Oh go Omari go See how our Kellyman runs When he goes past players and scores for fun Then when the game is done We'll drink our beers and go home.
  15. We've strengthened with real quality, got rid of some deadwood, brought academy money in to aid FFP - and in a way where can buy back if want to - and we've probably kept quite a bit back for the next stage. The development of Kellyman should not be forgotten either. I think he's going to feel like a new signing too.
  16. Should be turned down if so. This lad is going to get a lot of game-time this season. He's going to start cup games and get sub minutes in the league at some stage.
  17. If we could add a better back-up keeper, another right back, another centre back (for this season alone with Mings out), and left-sided attacker and, a decent striker as either starter or back-up, we would absolutely challenge for that top 4 spot - nailed on.
  18. Fantastic signing. Turns players and attacks with pace and directness. Everything you want in that role behind the striker. Going to be a huge star.
  19. Absolutely brilliant player. Yes, he got turned for their goal but, he will get used to the pace of the league and fill out accordingly. There no centre back in this league brings a ball out of defence with such calmness and brilliance as Pau does. What a player!
  20. That goal was sensational. So many players contributing to it and often with sublime touches around players to beat their man. Emery had our Villa team playing some of the best football we have even witnessed for our club. We all need to be grateful for the man, win lose or draw, we won't find better coming here.
  21. First half, Konsa burst forward into midfield, in their half, and made a tackle. The ball broke free and they broke forwards down our left. Kamara dropped into Konsa's position and Konsa chased back through the centre. When the ball got cleared forward, Konsa just naturally fell back into position as Kamara trotted forwards back into centre midfield. It was pure fluidity and beautiful to watch.
  22. I'd really like Unai to make some changes now. Revan and Chambers for Konsa and Digne. Tielemans for McGinn and Duran for Watkins.
