That’s Smith Vs Ancelotti in a nutshell. We aren’t the draw we think we are ( yet )... Foreign players, if they have a straight choice I reckon more often than not choose to work under Bielsa, Ancelotti than Smith. We just need to be cleverer and remain patient and stick to our plan and we will hopefully get to a position where we are first choice for players.

I’m bored and in FM mode and been thinking that Karlan Grant @ £10/15mill is a better option To Watkins @ £25mill. The difference of £10/£15mill, that’s another player. With McKennie moving to Juve for £20mill and if we were to switch to Grant that difference could be added for a cheeky £35mill+ for Denis Zakaria... Yeah I’m really that bored...

The bulk of our signings realistically could come from both the SPL, where you’ve got: Ajer, Edouard, Frimpong, Ntcham, Hickey, Glen Kamara & Morelos etc... Then in the EFL you’ve got: Cash, Butland, Karlan Grant, Swift, Rodon... Godfrey, Lewis, Aarons, Cantwell & Buendia. Henry, Benrahma, Mbeumo & Watkins. Lloyd Kelly, Lewis Cook & David Brooks. Will Hughes & Sarr .... Somewhat uninspiring in some ways but a lot of attainable talent there at the right £££ which would improve our starting XI & squad.

You are right but ultimately it’s all about the...

It’s the bigger than that, it’s the lifestyle, its history, cultural offerings, restaurants, ladies, etc Brum Vs LDN would definitely be a factor to some players.

I think we have to accept that to a lot of players we will be somewhat of hard sell unless we basically bribe them through wages... I’m sure say Belloti for example wouldn’t turn down £180k P/W.... That would shatter our wage structure as Jack and then Mings & SJM would all want and warrant pay rises and the wage bill spirals. We have to also accept that Birmingham doesn’t have the same draw as LDN or Manchester and many a European city, so again from that POV again not appealing in comparison - unless £££+... I personally believe this is where the problem lies in terms of lack of activity. Fee’s won’t be the problem necessarily it’s how much do we bribe players to choose us. Just a thought.

Its weird the six signings I’d be v.happy with are, Buendia & Aaron’s. Watkins & Benrahma + Ajer & Edouard. In real world 0.75% chance of that occurring ...

Patience ... we will be fine and no need to moan or panic just because your choice of player hasn’t signed as of yet (they will)... Have faith as we are finally on the right path I feel... Quality takes time and that is what we need and have.
