If Cuellar fares well against Hulk, we could well have our Laursen replacement ready made, he's an absolute beast physically, I'd consider playing the Hare at CB just to stop him. Oh and I'd rather see a Carew - Harewood front 2 than Carew - Heskey. It's awful to watch. Pity The Fonz isn't here for this.

Thoughts on a Sidwell - NRC midfield? It lacks abit of technical ability but it looked decent tonight. And technically the two of them do compliment each other, NRC holds whilst Sidwell trys his poor Lampard impersonation. There is alot of energy in that midfield at least, I don't think the problem with the 4-4-2 last year was Petrov and Barry, I think it was just Petrov...

Really really tough choice. If we won the FA cup it wold be another trophy to add to the history books, whilst who looks backs in 10 years and says "Wow they finished in the top 4 one year". This could be our best chance at winning the FA cup in a long time. As i feel we are the second best team in their, and we could still beat United. We haven't won the FA cup in decades, far, far too long for a club as big as Villa. Another F.A cup and it would pretty much shut up the Spuds and Newkie fans about being a bigger club. Saying all that, I voted option A, do people forget the FA cup comes round every year? We could win it next year, and not risk falling out of the top 4 because of it. A couple of squad signings this summer ( They would all be easier to attract finishing in the CL spots than 5th) and we would have the team to be competitive in more than just 1 competition. Although we are being competitive in 3 right now i can see us tiring in the final stages because of the amount of games.

Santa Cruz for me, a great mix between Carew and Gabby i think. He's pretty tall, contributes to build up play, technically good and knows where the net is, would work well either if one gets injured. Owens too similar to Gabby and just too much of a liability. Oh and i know i'll probably get laughed at for this but, if the Hare goes what about Matt Derbyshire? Young and a really good finisher, would be good to have as a backup.
