    That's my worry, I hope the Pool win finally gave them belief. I'd of played Carew - Delf upfront.

    Ugh??? Yes, ugh. When has this worked in the past, it's almost the same team as the one that played in the Wigan game, just with Carew.

    I think Delph will start, in place of one of the midfield 3. I'd rather not risk Young either, bring him on second half if we have to.

    This is the team I'd of picked to be honest, with possibly Delph over Sidwell. Still no Carew, worrying.

    Friedel - 5 Beye - 5 Cuellar - 5 Davies - 4 Shorey - 2 Milner - 6 Petrov - 4 Delph - 5 Young - 2(Over exaggerating yes, but I expect much more from the "young player of the year") Heskey- 5 Gabby - 4 Sidwell - 5 Fonz -- Albrighton - 5 Why wasn't NRC starting?

    Young should be dropped right now, Downing looks the better bet. Him and Milner try to build up the play, Young just runs for goal every time.

    Why is NRC not starting? I don't understand it, I can't understand it. Downing must be impressed watching from the stands... LB is needed, at least one CB, one striker, I don't care who, just somebody to push Gabby and Heskey further down the ranks. Deflated.

    Get Sidwell and NRC on for Heskey and Delph seems as there is no Carew.

    The same defence that last year was only conceding 1 against West Ham etc is now going to concede 2 against Wigan? ALL CB pairings take time, Cuellar - Davies has shown me enough in pre-season to warrant at least one game before we decide they are hopeless together. Not all replacements have to be new signings you know. I would love it if, next week we shut Liverpool out and sneak a 1-0. Then what? Is the defence still poor because it hasn't got a new face in the middle? Some players take time, and partnerships certainly take time.

    This. Although I wouldn't expect Gabby or Petrov to play the full 90, Gabby only played one game and Petrov has been injured.

    Milner, Gabby and Heskey came off, Carew, NRC, and Fonz on. Delph is still on.

    It's been happening quite alot when we got forward. Young moving CF, Heskey left wing. Delph moving wide left, Milner coming more central etc. Total football eh?

    Heskey has more skills than Ashley.

    Without getting carried away, he looks to add something new to our central midfield, pace, skill and the ability to run with the ball. Nice move for the goal, Milner through to Young and Heskey with the finish. Clark as 4th choice CB?

    Play Harewood with Carew. It worked against Newcastle, why not Juve? They have the same colour kit. Practically the same club.

    Guzan was awesome, definitely MOM. Everybody was good, Sidwell played well, NRC was good again, Clarke and Cuellar were fantastic.
