How would that work?
Pay less of your budget for a cheap defender who you know isn't going to play hence you don't lose any points; then you have a bigger budget to spend on better midfielders/strikers who will pick you up more points.
Hutton is more expensive than players like Edna or Williams, who also aren't likely to play ...
The thing is they are in the squad, and may play some part. Hutton wont.

If your 1st choice defender does not play your 1st substitute will replace him (usually a midfilder or striker), hence effectivly playing 343 or 352.
Really?? I have high hopes for him tbh.. Hopefully Lambert can develop him into a joe allen type player.
Time will tell. Im not a fan of Paul Lambert in the slightest. I hope he manages to change my mind on what I think of him. I was dissapointed when he was made manager and I am disappointed in his decisions and tactics in the first two games and I was disappointed with his transfers.
Im not sure packing a struggling team with kids is a bright idea and as things stand I still think Lambert will get less points than McLeish.
Interesting.
if he does get less than McLeish , which i seriously doubt btw , at least we will have been entertained along the way .. And you can't say that for whatever it was McLeish served up
...and he's not McLeish!
One bite at a time very true.
Trouble is, it would take a hell of a long time to eat an elephant using that method. You might lose the will to live first. That's always been my problem with that saying.
What would you cook it in?
There's a Belgium Villa fan on H&V who reckons he's worth no more than £1m.
Why? Has he seen him play often?
You have to remember that there are idiots who post on public sites, just there to grab some attention. However since I have never seen him play Id be interested to hear his evaluations.
"slow and technically limited"
Mmmmm...Ill take that with a pinch of salt from a disgruntled fan!
Good luck to you Christian, hope Real and Barca are sniffing round in a few years!
Good shout!
You have to ask the question why would he come here to a team in transition?
Ill be surprised if he is not playing for the scousers or buying a new wallet up north by the end of the day.
There is probably a good reason he has not had a run of 4/5 games.
The last 4 managers have seen him every day in training and would have seen a lot more of him than anyone here.
Not many other young strikers have been given as much chance in and around the 1st team for so long. If he wasnt one of ours he would have been bombed out way before this.
